Reviews of The Bread Station
L. P.
The Bread Station is a Michelin-driven Danish bakery you should stop by if you’re in the area. The pastries are taken with a fancy twist, the bread loafs are impressive in proportion. My oat latte was good but not extraordinary. A few things to say about the avocado toasts: the egg yolk was the reddest I have ever had which I believe is a good sign and the avocado was tasty. However, the sourdough bread was too toasted to cut with a knife without having them slip out the plate. I would have loved a bit more dressing on top: a drizzle of olive oil and pepper. Will come back to try the poppy seed roll.

Great pastries and service
Big selection of fresh baked goods. Sourdough bread is 👌
It has a nice terrace for eating or drinking your coffee.
They also do lunch specials, and have juices.
Be aware they only take cards (due to covid)
I’ll
Be back I’m always back’
One really good breakfast pastry is the bacon Danish roll that also has some chili jam inside
Try or, good for kids as well, very friendly and on a quiet street

**EDIT***
The management reached out to me, which I think says a lot about how much they value their customers opinion!
I went back to try the salmon breakfast sandwich and this time around enjoyed it quite a bit more! The bread was soft and it tasted fresher. Also got a cardamom roll which was reallllly nice. Coffee was a big improvement as well:) I’m glad they reached out and I’ll definitely be back! Thank you Esther and staff!
Original:
The girl at the front was pretty rude. The sandwich I got (mushroom and egg) tasted old, stale, and cold. Honestly did not feel worth the money. Coffee was not very hot and milk wasn’t steamed well…..No wifi

There are a myriad of Bread/Bakery shops in Hackney, but none come close to the sheer quality of The Bread Station.
Upon entering, you are met with a well spaced outdoor area where you have the option to sit and have breakfast or lunch. Within the interiors are thoughtfully laid out juxtapositions of a bread station, pastries and other interesting foods.
They have a wonderful reward system that values customer loyalty and the staff are simply some of the most wonderfully friendly and easy going bunch you could ever come across, if not the most.
High quality and a variety types of bread combined with lovely staff is very much a win for me and takes care of 50% of my dietary needs. The Fruit rye is one to beat!
I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I wanted some fresh bread and found this on google. This is definitely a lovely store if you want some nicely fresh baked bread. The location is so close to London fields itself, you can easily get a coffee and go the field itself to sit and relax during summer. The store has some lovely selection of homemade breads and also other local produced products. I would definitely come back again for more freshly baked bread in the future.

Nice spot, good lunch, solid baked goods. Decent selection of local breweries, including Kernel, Signature. Not a destination but a good place to grab lunch and have a tasty beer.
W. F.
This place is great as a bakery but average as a cafe. All the pastries etc in the cabinet are delicious, but the al a crate items, while perfectly good, are not great like other places in the area. The cafe is also a bit disorganised and prone to getting orders wrong.
M. S.
It's a very nice interesting place to have your brunch or afternoon coffee.
They bake the best Danish in London.
Highly recommended.
Don't forget to try their sandwiches, yummy 😋.
M. M.
Our favourite bakery in the area. A great place for pastries, good coffee and yummy toasts/sandwiches. Famiglia bread is just amazing!
C. K.
Best bread in London and great staff. During the lockdowns their seeded loaf got me through. Even though I moved away I still travel to get it.
A. L. C.
Colorful, great staff, quiet area and tasty home made food. You can also relax sitting outdoors, customers are nice people. The food quality is the best, they make their own ingredients and you can feel the passion for their work on every delicious bite.
Definitely, a wonderful and charming place to come everyday.

The best sourdough we have ever test.
We joined the masterclass of bread making. You can not find a better place in London for learning make such health bread. Chris the chef is very patient with enthusiasm, knowledgeable. Other staff is more than helpful.
We also want like to highlight that The bread station is a true accessible place for everyone. Here you can laugh, enjoy your time and very best coffee, full range of pastry and bread.
Will definitely come back for bread or even a haven in the busiest London.

Gorgeous little soup and sambo deal - gradually working my way through the toasties. Mushroom one is perfect, not like slimy mushrooms, but also not overbearing, the perfect balance. Keep her lit bakers!

Wonderful authentic Danish bakery in East London!!
The rye bread is just like what mormor makes, which is a big statement from a Dane!!
The pastries and brownies aren't half bad either... 😉
Lovely outdoor courtyard where you can soak up the sun and enjoy an afternoon coffee...
An absolute must visit if live in the East / enjoy scandinavian baked goods / on holiday in the area / just scandinavian and missing home... 😁

This place is like heaven if you're fond of bread, pastries, cakes, etc. The baking procedure is professional with a tender touch of lovely people. The staff are super friendly. It is indeed a unique baker in London.
T. N.
My favourite bakery hang out in the London Fields area - bit hidden but worth the extra 5 minutes up from Broadway market - less crowded and great selection of sweet and savory baked goods!
J. R.
Best bread (always get London fields) and always a really nice service.
S. M.
Where this place excels with its baked goods, its management team fail spectacularly with their customer service.
There is yet another rude male manager who appears to give zero f*cks about their customers. Consistently this guy goes almost out of his way to build no rapport, engage with customers, or add the slightest dash of politeness to his general manner. Incredible.
The team who appear to work for him are all excellent and cover up for his quite significant lack of interest in his job. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall at this guys job interview..
D. G.
Absolutely love the baked goodies here - everything from the sandwiches to the danishes!
C.
Very good bread 🥖 and they even have a bread slicing machine. There is always a queue but it moves fast. My favourites are London Fields Seeded an Hackney Wholemeal. 🍞
e. b.
Delicious breads, pastries and cakes and open sandwiches. Seating outside, dog and kid friendly. Lovely place.
G. T.
Best bread in town!
London is surely spoiled, we have some of the best bakeries around preparing fantastic bread to keep us going through our busy lives....and The Bread Station must be my top favorite one. The quality of their products is only matched by the friendliest of the staff and focus on the community. Can't recommend enough.
N. B.
Look no further for the best sourdough bread in this part of London! Even the largest famigilia loaf doesn't last long in our house! The bread is salty, chewy and not full of massive holes like some sourdough breads. The pastries are a little on the expensive side, but totally worth it. The service is wonderful. I also love the selection of other delicious speciality foods they also stock.

Ohh... Less than 12 hours until the weekend😍 I've been in The Bread Station (love that place) last Saturday. They've changed a bit the place and as a regular customer, I felt a bit intrigued by it. It was a lot more busier than the usual but the same cozy and warm atmosphere was still present. I mainly believe it's due to their staff. A tall guy and girl welcomed me with a big smile and a great cup of coffee. They managed to serve everyone in a timely fashion. Very friendly and understanding staff, great coffee and amazing pastry. I felt taken care off as usual ! Will remain a loyal customer! See you tomorrow!
S. G.
Turkey sandwich and spandau are delicious
A. W.
My fav place for bread!!! Their sourdough is amazing!! Plus great coffee and lots of other fab foodie bits.. locally sourced products too.
H. Y.
Lovely space and great to get your fresh pastries. I like the fact they have a different variety to some of the traditional stuff you find in London Fields. When i last went i asked for the Bacon roll, but i was given a bacon sandwich, was disappointed at first as i didn't get what i ordered but i actually really liked the bread and the roasted tomatoes thats inside. Recommended visit, especially if and when the other spots are busy and you don't like waiting like me.
B. B.
Great bread and lovely jams and peanut butters, staff were lovely and gave us free pastries to take home rather than throw them away, though they do give to homeless shelters too. Good coffee. Nice ambiance too.
T. J.
Nice sandwiches and bread. Great coffee.
S. P.
The Bread Station is brilliant - amazing products and always so helpful. Big thumbs up!
A. R.
My favourite bakery. The bread here is definitely better than E5 bakery. We buy bread from The Bread Station regularly. Also a pleasant place to meet friends or to do some work - inside and outdoor space.
m. m.
This is a real find - the bread is fantastic, definitely some of the best to be found locally. The staff are super friendly and helpful. A great addition to the artisan bread scene.
L. D.
Great coffee, friendly staff, and amazing avocado on toast
S. B.
This bakery off London Fields has satisfied my thirst for good old traditional bread. The bread is not only scrumptous and moreish, it wonderfully survives in the freezer. I buy a large sliced family loaf about every 2 weeks and keep the slices in small freezer bags. Taking 1 bag out every evening, they're as fresh as just baked in the morning.
A. M.
Fresh, friendly and really top notch quality
D. M.
I have had lots of there food and it is all amazing beautiful food lovely staff and great prices the choc chip cookies are so amazing best cookie I have ever had hand on heart no toilet facilities though which doesn’t make a difference to me so five stars
e. e.
Love the Dirty Dane + all you can eat toasts + famiglia bread. A nice respite from E5 when it gets too busy there. Please add hot chocolate to the menu for winter mornings?
A. “. G. W.
Great tasting fresh milled bread. Great little find in hackney, tried the bacon sandwich which was tasty! This is the only place that the bread doesnt make me have a sugar crash.
H. R.
Great bread, deli items and sandwiches, staff is super friendly
k. t.
Very good bread and Brioche buns.
J. H.
Went there via google maps sold us black bread and found that quite normal at home we found it was simply burnt... did not go again since that was not in our interest and had better exp at Yeast Bakery near which was delicious.
N. R.
Some of the best bread in East London and the delivery service is an absolute winner - next day delivery and really high quality produce 🙌
S. D.
Best bread in Hackney. Honestly. Stop going to E5. Get the famiglia and they can slice it for you. Also does Climpsons coffee.
B. V.
Very nice and simple place. Great coffee ( including decaf), lovely sourdough bread and the smoked salmon sandwich I had was surprisingly tasty.
N.
Great bread and all the people working are very kind and nice!
M. S.
Great bread and lovely pastries! Perfect place for brunch. Cosy and unpretentious seating area.
T. A.
Amazing bread!!! Very good breakfast. Not 5 stars just because everything that needs to be prepared in kitchen takes ages...
D. K.
Great coffee and amazing flourless chocolate cake. However the star of the show is the cookie - simply incredible!
j. w.
Amazing bread selection, natural bake Danish sourdough amongst others. Great rotating hot food and great sarnies!
S. B.
Lovely bread and they slice it for you - a huge plus
R. A.
The coffee is right up there. There is always space and the vibe is totally chilled. Oh, and bottomless sourdough toast with insane jams? Yes!
K. M. L.
Bread super. Not keen on the pastry, maybe I just don't like danish pastry
H. S.
Really delicious and authentic pastries and lovely tea (yes the Danes do tea as well as coffee), and a friendly welcome in a laid back, unpretentious atmosphere.
H. P.
Amazing danish bakery - try the Kringle and mulled wine in winter months. Or the lemon madeleines. Or the bacon sandwiches. Good coffee too
J. N.
Brilliant bakery and Cafe. Amazing staff and lovely atmosphere. Best bread around by a long long way.
M. C.
Good coffee and pastries are OK. They do a mean grilled bacon sandwich. Slightly less busy than E5
N. H.

J. S.
Really good - the tea, the Spandau jam pastry.
Good - cinnamon bun.
Meh - poppy seed pastry, no filter coffee
M. K.
Organic breads baked on site, they serve coffee under the train arches. In a relaxed east London vibe.
