I ordered from here 2x times. Red velvet cake was nice, anyway everythings else was too sugary, the cakes, cupcakes…look mouth watering but taste wise it’s more like sugar on top of sugar instead of having really great taste.

The rainbow cake is very eye-catching and immediately captures everyone’s attention. The sponge cake tastes a bit hard, not soft enough, and the taste is also a bit sweet. The frosting has a strong sweetness. The overall taste is like a British cake that is too sweet to die for. But for the sake of the cute appearance that is also too sweet to die for, it is worthy of the beauty. Let’s try it!

Good, or rather delicious cakes. I visited this cute bar on Portobello Road during the Halloween holidays and I was enchanted looking at the window of The Hummingbird. The cakes were decorated with a Halloween theme and were real miniatures. Very special!

We stood in the store for probably 5 minutes and thought about what we were going to eat. The pieces were relatively large and we would have liked to have eaten a piece of each. I don't think there's much to say about the quality, it's outstanding! You can take the delicacies with you or eat them on site, but there isn't really much space in the shop. When taking with you, you should keep in mind that there is no immediate seating on the street.

I can't remember last time I had their red velvet, and the memories were so good. I finally came back, and It didn't disappoint. It's so soft, not too sweet, so delicious!!! Amazing red velvet, probably my favorite I've tried in London. We also had a Nutella cupcake and that was pure heaven. Also, staff was really lovely and we got a beautiful tote bag 😍

I really liked the frosting and muffin texture :) There's nothing missing However, I remembered the taste during my trip last winter, so I bought it, but I was so disappointed. The staff is really friendly and the cupcakes are delicious! I even asked if I had any allergies and they responded with a smile, so I bought it and left in good spirits! Hi. This is nice place for me. This bakery is sooo sweet and amazing! The pink decor and atmosphere is so cute and the workers were very kind and helpful. I will definitely come here again in the future. I highly recommend the salted caramel cupcake!

Everytime I come by London, this is one of the places on my to do list. The cupcakes are nice but what makes me come back here is the customer service. Today when I wanted to buy one of the brownies, one of the male staff that attended to me had actually took the liberty to ask if the one eating that brownies has any allergies. He even advised me which of the brownies I bought had to be kept refrigerated. Customer service at its best. Please maintain this standard and well done.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and this shop is so amazing. Cake price was in the higher-end of the spectrum, but I don't think anyone could have pulled off a better looking, more delectable treat at any cost. Can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something about cupcakes that you simply have to love. Maybe it's the way they look or simply the way the word sounds - with such an air of enticement and allure that you simply can't resist them. If you think of cupcakes as high school kids, the cupcakes at The Hummingbird Bakery are the popular cool kids with their own flair and style that everyone else is trying to imitate. You think they're too haughty and shy away from them but if you give them a chance, you'll see that they're also kind and good-humoured and you actually enjoy spending time with them. What I mean is, the cupcakes are great, don't pass the bakery just because it seems posh or pretentious; the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Love this place. It has good fresh bread and croissants and muffins - all of them more than good! The cupcakes in my opinion are a must- whichever you pick, you won't go wrong, I guarantee that. As for the coffee - it is tasty and aromatic and the baristas are always friendly. I really enjoy going there again and again to try new and even tastier baked goodies that look like works of art.

Try as I might, I couldn't restrain myself to only one of their sinfully delicious sweet creations. I can't tell which sense of mine was more impressed and overwhelmed - everything looked enticingly well, smelled even more so and tasted divine. I tried the Red Velvet (of course) and the Black Bottom Cupcakes and I absolutely loved them both. I will definitely go back and try more - probably some of their monthly specials - because I am a weak human being.

It can be small, and busy at some times, but is still packed with the love for their product and the will of leaving the best of the experiences that they had when was first opened. If you want a pleasant time, avoid the Saturdays thought. Being a market day, the store (and Street) will be totally crowded.

It was too cramped when visiting on weekends so had to select, pay and go because it really just not much space to move around if more people wanting to get inside. You can tell their cupckes are fresh just by tasting them, cakes are fluffy soft and frosting is sweet and smooth. Must visit if you are visiting the Portobello Market.
