Reviews of Yeast Bakery
A really lovely experience at Yeast Bakery. I visited on a Saturday afternoon after exploring the market in the area. The atmosphere was so nice: loved the decor and wonderful plants 🌿🌱🌵. I treated myself with a creamy cappuccino and a fresh (still warm!) almond croissant 🥐. Staff was incredibly polite! Thank you so much! I'll be back and recommend when around Hackney Wick!
Great vibes but very expensive.
Purchase foods like cinnamon rolls at Saturday Breakfast. I arrived at the store at 9:00 a.m., but since it was Saturday, there were a few customers. Many people choose to take away, so if the weather is nice, you can eat outside. I also bought a croissant and it was crispy and delicious. We also sell drinks such as lattes and Americanos. Bought 3 for about £8. However, it is credit only, so cash cannot be used. So it's 4 stars. It's close to the bus stop, and there's also a market nearby on Saturdays, so it might be a good idea to eat here before that. I want to buy a baguette next time.
It's far away from the tourist area but it's worth a try! Breads are mainly puff pastry products. The kouign amann, which is relatively rare in Taiwan, has many flavors and is very delicious!
It's a shame that this bakery is only open on Saturdays. You really have to try the Queen Amang here! The pastry looks pretty, but it tastes like a pretzel filled with cream. The staff are so lovely and friendly.
This bakery is located under the subway. It mainly sells pastry bread. The most eye-catching thing is the whole row of Kouign Amann French caramel butter puff pastry to choose from, a sinful delicacy made of dough + butter🧈+sugar
splendor. I happened to stop by Climson Sons while I was there for coffee, but the croissants and pies were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
The most delicious bakery in the world!
Exceptional.
Wow, what amazing French pastries, croissants, cakes and more. We tried the super cute Brioche Feuilletée which is a tall brioche cake with a sweet filling inside plus a wonderful topping. If you are in the area on Saturday you can visit Broadway Market and eat some street food. Then head to Yeast Bakery for coffee and a cake. Situated inside a railway arch, there are benches outside so it's lovely to sit there in the summer. Buy a baguette to take home later. Enjoy!
The best pastries I've ever eaten! Lovely staff, nice seating and generally a relaxing, low key vibe.
Best bakery in London. This is not hyperbole. There is no one that does croissants better.
One of my favourite places for pastries in London. Full list on my blog "Gone Sun Where".
Discovered this little gem after my meal at CookDaily across the road. All the pastries look to perfection. Ended up with a pistachio and praline brioche. It was delicious not too sweet.
Word of warning: this place only accepts card payment.
Enjoy :-)
The staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. The interiors are easy on the eyes and outdoor seating a plus. But £5.60 for a sliced white sourdough loaf hurt my soul. It was delicious and still warm. But is ANY loaf of bread £5.60-delicious? Looking forward to when national wages catch up with inflation.
Tidy and modern interior, seems to be a nice place to sit down and relax. The pastries are varied but the cinnamon bun I had wasn't anything that special, neither was the coffee. Overall a little expensive for what you get, but pleasant enough otherwise
All the pastries look fantastic and taste great here. Crisp and soft pastry layers. Great flavour and very reasonably priced.
Great spot. Sandwiches and soups are delicious, as are the pastries. Kind and helpful staff (family-run). Decor is modern and green.
Absolutely amazing!!!
Space & atmosphere: Lots of seating, indoor and outdoor, free wifi (they allow laptops), and clean open space! Nice chill music too
Staff: friendly, inviting, and professional!
Food &d drink: my pear/raspberry danish was really tasty (the right amount of sweet) and lots of lamination! Coffee was nice too :)
Will definitely be back- I wanna try their kouign aman and chocolate croissant!!
Very delicious. Sadly prices on the beyond ridiculous end of the spectrum 😅
Think it was £4.65 for a Pastry with raspberries that’s the size of a molecule
A great visit for those passing by London Fields. The selection of kouign amann flavours is the best I've ever seen in the world (and in fact the first people I've seen experimenting with flavouring them). I tried the caramelised pineapple - I wanted more! Delicious.
Amazing smells of freshly baked bread while serving quality coffee. Well done to the owner and to the personnel for keeping it real!
I never tried so delicious and different pastry and desserts. Moving out from Hackney I miss this place a lot. It was so good and I can't find something as good as this in my new.
Verdict - would return: delicious pasties
Liked - brioche feuilleteé
Disliked - the prices
Other comments - the brioche feuileteé sells out quickly!
All the pastries look fantastic here. We got a kouign amann and it was brilliant. Crisp and soft pastry layers. Great flavour and very reasonably priced
Easily the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Also delicious coffee. What a find.
Decent pastries at decent prices.
The Kouign-Amann and Brioche Feuilletée were good but lacked the crispiness to take it to the next level. Pophams is still the one to beat.
Malted sourdough was very fragrant and will be back to buy another.
One of my favourite bakeries in London!!
Nice place to visit. Good croissant and cappuccino to taste. Little crowds, but it is part the job.
lovely location by the canal, with welcoming and friendly service. we had one almond croissant and one toasted sourdough bread with marmalade for breakfast. the dough of the pastry was excellent, very flaky, but something was off with the cream (way too runny, you needed a spoon to eat it). the toasted bread was again excellent, but the marmalade not enough to even lightly cover one slice. we asked for two long black but were served two americano (i guess our fault since they do not have long black listed in their coffee menu, but could have said?). prices exceptionally high (~15 GBP for the above). overall good, but with room for improvement.
First time trying these French pastries, I had the brownie there and it was delicious.
This place is a bakery out of a dream! Every single pastry of theirs is a wonder! Highly recommend
The absolute coolest bakery! Prepare for a satisfactory shock to the taste buds.
Nice buttery, caramelized pastry! A bit pricey. Note they only take card payment.
Lovely atmosphere and staff, tucked away next to the canal with delicious baked goods
Best place in Hackney - we love the whole family - thank you all for always being so welcoming 🥰
This bakery is by far the best bakery in London!! I never ever eat cheese sticks anywhere else anymore either. Ben is the pastry master par excellence! Now that they have tables and chairs outside you can hang out there and watch while they bake. Apparently they're open on Fridays now too.
I would give six stars if I could. Lovely family run bakery, with beautiful breads, cakes and pastries. Super friendly staff - I’ll be back!
Kougin Amann of all kinds of flavors! Only open on Saturdays so plan accordingly.
Incredible bakery in super cool vibes. Every pastry was flawless
First visit to Yeast Bakery. Overlooks the canal with some seating outside. Inside, it is very spacious with a wide selection of pastries, freshly baked on the premises, and they are delicious. The coffee is by Climpson and Son (my favourite) and tastes smooth. Plenty of seating inside. Compares with other coffee/bakeries in the area price wise. The service was good, polite and friendly staff. I will be back.
We got the hazelnut brownie. Too much hazelnut to chew on and the brownie is dry
Delicious coffee and pastries, welcoming place. I come here every Saturday 😊
Great coffee, good space, delicious pastries and cute dogs guaranteed
Excellent pastry and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the flavours of the pastries only apply to the decoration rather than the filling. It is also a shame that they only use disposable cups for their coffee.
Fantastic bakery. Silky, delicious coffee. A must go!
Overpriced but good. Funny location and everything is made right there in the building.
Good pastry and reasonable quality sourdough. Sadly in Hackney where you can find an artisan bakery almost every corner, Yeast Baker's sourdough is far less tasty than others. Perhaps the most delicious thing is the pastey-bun
This place is fantastic. I am always in search of the best bakery spots and this place does not disappoint! The pastries are fresh and flaky, coffee is smooth and delicious. Highly recommend
This is a secret gem in North-East London. They do amazing pastries, especially Kouign-Amann 😍 It was my first time trying and I love it 😋 Heard their croissants are amazing as well so gonna try them out next time 😁 Bear in mind they only open their bakery to the public on Saturdays
The place is fantastic, I make sure to come here every time I visit London Fields. The creme brûlée kouign amann is my absolute favourite!
Great spot to catch up with someone for a coffee as the place is very nice to sit inside! The pastries are very good, such a big choice of both sweet and savory options. Staff is very friendly as well :)
Awesome vegan pastries and French bread.
Yeast serves the best croissant-style baked goods you can find. From the basic croissant to filled, vertical brioche feuilletée to different flavoured kouign amann (a true rarity) to the novelty croaf (croissant loaf), every single one is as good as they get, flaky, flavoursome, and full of butter. You won't find better in Paris.
Get your Dominique Ansel fix here at half the price.
The chocolate croaf (a chocolate croissant loaf) is wonderful and makes my daughter's weekend. And the staff are lovely!
Absolutely amazing, love coming here on Saturdays when they are open to the public. Their kouign-ammans are probably the best made pastry I've ever had! Will not disappoint.
Yeast has become my "go to" place for bread and pastries. Absolutely fantastic tasting food and lovely, freindly people running it.
For my opinion this place produce the best pastries in London. Don’t wait until you will be in the area of this bakery... just go there! Amazing place!
Best place for croissants and other French pastries and bread in London. The chocolate briochefeuiletée is insanely good and a must-try. ❤
small bakery where you can find really good artisan bread, you can also find a good selection of croissants and various desserts accompanied by a good coffee.
Simply the best croissant, pain au chocolat, and brioche feuilletée in London...probably the UK. Hell, it's better than most bakeries in Paris!
Big up da coldest bakery in London. Independent family run business real O.G. business you love to see it🤩😩.
New Location for the best bakery of Lond Fields and entire Hackney!!!
I must admit that I loved that underground like feeling of the previous place, but know you can seat in a cosy and modern designed place just in front of the canal, or you can enjoy mouth-watering delicatessens (even salty once) just in front of the canal onto comfy chairs. I’m loving to stay there, over ordering as usual (then take away), with a cappuccino and a book in these sunny summer day enjoying this post lockdown!
I know this quietness won't last much.. So, hurry up!
Go to place for Kouign-amann in East London. The other pastries (especially the Hackney bun) are great too!
Friendly service, delicious croissants
The kouign amann is so good I came back 3 days in a row. Addictive. Genius pastry making
Best pain au chocolat in London!
Absolutely the best bakery under the Sun! We're already missing you (since we moved), Yeast!
Croaf is the signature in there. Tried the almond and cinnamon croaf which was fluffy and light, a very nice french pastry shop.
One of the best bakeries in town. Do not miss out on the Kouignamann, they are just mind blowing.
By far the best bakery in London. Forget dominic ansel and st johns. This will give you a special moment in yoir life.
In the tumultuous world of today, the Yeast kouign amann provides a sacred moment of joy and sweetness. Thank you for this life changing pastry!
Such a great place they make something that is called a Kroaf and it is soooo good !! If you want one go early on Saturday because they go fast.
It’s a nice bakery over looking the canal with plenty of sunlight in the morning hours. The flat white is good. Although the baguette is good, it’s definitely too over priced. Like 3 bucks for a baguette is ripping one off.
Quality wise it’s good though, so if you are super rich fancy person, get their baguette or just save money to go to France and eat better and cheaper ones 😉
Staff is friendly and the product is always fresh.
Good spot to hang out but definitely not a place to buy your everyday coffee or bread or baguette, too expensive even from Broadway market standards.
The best pastries I’ve had outside France. Lovely place.
Crème brûlée kouign-amann was incredible, could easily eat 20 of them!
Gorgeous Bakery near London Fields! Recently renovated, looking beautiful and serving coffee!
The manager took my order directly and gave her personal opinion on what I should have which was really great and made me feel valued as a customer
possibly the best pastry/croissant in London, open to public from a garage near Netil market on Saturdays.
Great selection of unique pastries along with fresh breads and coffee
Wonderful pastries but eye wateringly expensive and no savoury options
Best croissant and pastries in London. Just amazing :)))
Great bread and pastries- pricey. But nice!
they open just saturday but you must try kouign-amann 💖
great selection of pastries. raspberry and custard brioche feuilletée was my favorite, the custard cream and raspberry filling hits the perfect spot. brioche buns weren’t noteworthy, I’d go for the sweets.
Great bakes and the best kouign-amann in town!
The best almond croissants in London
They make the best croissants in London!
Excellent bakery; average coffee.
Awesome family run bakery
Good pastries.
So delicious
Fantastic bread and pastry. Friendly staff
The small kouign amann with apple is really yummy !
It is expensive but you can only go there once a week so what the hell
Brilliant family run business. Seats with view over the kitchen. Hands down top ten in London! Favourite pastry is the Kouign-amann "a Breton cake, described in the New York Times as the fattiest pastry in all of Europe."
One of the best bakeries in London
Very good bakery with quality products
Very good. I recommend the Croaf.
Delicious French pastries.
Quick service, good coffee!
Delicious kouign amanns 😍
Best
🤗😍😘 One of the best!
Omg amazing
Scrumptious!
Visited yesterday for the first time. I would call it an elite cafe/bakery. It felt like I travelled in time and I am in Copenhagen or New York. Amazing. I like the eco friendly coffee cups and everything really. Coffee was delicious and croissant crispy - yum. I love the idea of little ceramic mugs being sold there and bags. You can also see a bit of the back where staff are baking. Very charming place and hopefully see you next month when I am again on Sheep Lane.
