Hannah did the dessert table for our wedding (3 cakes, brownies and rocky roads) and honestly they were the most delicious and beautiful things I've ever saw. I was so concerned about getting everything right for my wedding but from the first email I knew Hannah would listen to what I wanted and make the best cakes. She exceeded my high expectations, which is hard to do. Thanks so much Build-a-bake, I'd recommend 100 times over. Sarah and Rob xx

I can’t thank Hannah enough for creating the most beautiful cake for our wedding. From giving advice on how big to make the cake and which flavours would work well together to even collecting flowers from our florist for decoration, Hannah goes above and beyond throughout the whole process and is a joy to work with! Her bakery is also well worth a visit for a sweet treat!

I am not one for writing reviews, but on this occasion it categorically merits one. Credit where credit is due! I was looking for someone to create a special 60th Birthday cake & good fortune came my way, when I was able to find Hannah at her recently opened shop in Jesmond, Newcastle. ‘Build a Bake’ From early stage of the design to completion of the cake, Hannah’s professionalism, communication & passion was evident throughout. There is no doubt Hannah is a truly gifted artisan, extremely creative, passionate, hardworking individual, who strives for excellence in her line of business. On collection of the 60th Birthday cake, i was received with a warm welcome, then I was blown away when Hannah brought over the cake, it looked absolutely amazing! I paused to take in the surroundings of ‘Build a Bakes’ immaculately presented premises & was tempted by a lovely cup of Coffee & one of her original hand made cakes, for my journey back home. I said at the time of collection ‘it’s the crowning glory’ and so it was to be, when the cake was unveiled at the birthday party, it was a shame to cut into the cake, but it had to be eaten & tasted as good as it looked. From discovering this fantastic little bakery on the evening chronicle, we have been highly impressed with every bake we have got! The bakes are outstandingly delicious and always leaves you wanting more!! The customer service is second to none, with every visit you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome (and of course all the scrumptious cakes!!) We will continue to come back for more!!!

Beautiful outlet .... Before I even realized the shop was there the smell had me floating down the street (like the Bisto Kid) on a cloud of heavenly scent. The minute you walk in you can see the brand new (brilliantly clean) polished kitchen behind the screen which makes you feel confident in the cleanliness of the business (and that their health and safety requirements are being followed with precision). The cake display is outstandingly tantalising and the beautifully polished owner with her brilliant customer service and absolute zest for what she does whisks you into a visionary world of gigantic cupcakes and monster size slices of pure delight. What a fantastic - perfectly executed, delightful little business !!! .., It felt like I was being whisked right back to childhood - which conjured a multitude of memories - including the magnificent film 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. The young owner is (unquestionably) an artist in her own right 🍥 I definitely recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth (and anyone who doesn't have a sweet tooth who would like to buy an unforgettable treat for someone who does) 😃
