We had the afternoon tea. The sandwiches had clearly been out uncovered for some time as the outside bread was dried out. The scones were delicious I really enjoyed them. The cakes were fine but nothing special. The coffee was good (latte) and refillable too. Glad I had a voucher, otherwise would have been upset at the price.

Only 4 stars because since Patisserie Valerie reopened the variety of cakes on offer has been reduced - the lemon tart and the raspberry and almond frangipane have been discontinued. I had the Black Forest slice, which was very dry down the end which isn't covered in cream. There seemed to be a lot of gateau type slices on offer, which is okay if you like that type of cake but not if, like myself, you don't. Our daughter bought us a voucher for Christmas for afternoon tea for two from our little granddaughter, which we haven't used yet. Hopefully by the time we do there'll be a better variety on offer.

I have only visited the one time. It wasn’t anything to rave about. We had ‘cream tea for two’. The scones were disappointingly small, only one knife, one napkin, one jam, one butter, one pot of cream and one plate to share between us. I mean I thought they could stretch to an extra plate?! It’s near enough £10 after all. I wouldn’t rush back if I’m honest. On a brighter note, the staff was friendly and smiley!

My husband and I went for lunch on the 20th December. What can I say it was excellent. Even though they were busy the staff were fantastic. Very friendly. I ordered the eggs benedict, which I love, the dish arrived and wow the eggs were cooked to perfection. A truly enjoyable lunch.

Enjoyed an afternoon tea here courtesy of a Red Letter day voucher my daughter received from workmates for her birthday. Was a bit dubious after reading some reviews but all the staff were lovely, polite and courteous. Was told there could be a twenty minute or so wait but food and pots of tea were on our table after ten minutes. Sandwiches were fresh, scones and bite size cakes delicious. All in all an enjoyable meal 😊

Lovely waiter, really friendly and happy to serve us and do anything for us. The let down was the cleanliness of the place. There was food on the floor and on the chairs. The table was briefly wiped but not very well considering we are at risk of getting covid now. High chair was dirty for my little boy. Didn't feel clean at all which was a shame for a place I thought was very quality and lived up to its price and appearance. The food wasn't great either. My sandwich was soggy on the bottom because of the salad dressing on the plate. For saying it was lunchtime there were hardly any cakes left so I had to go with what they had left. It was dry and not fresh at all. Probly been sitting in the window for a while. 🤨 it was boiling hot in the cafe I nearly passed out. Needed some air con or at least a door open 😬 overall staff were lovely but the food and hygiene wasn't good enough for what they charge!

Friendly staff member who served us but too too long to get a coffee. I think they have problems getting staff. The same problem as other places. Only one who seems to be taking orders and serving. She is doing her best as is the guy behind the counter making drinks. Put as 4 stars as assume better with more help...

Afternoon Tea £29.99 for two. Nicely presented, tasty and fresh but missing a little flair to rate over independent tea shops. We had voucher so was more than pleased but we may have been disappointed paying full price.

i had a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea for two with a glass of fizz. Visited today with my daughter and I have to say it was lovely. The sandwiches were varied, fresh and very tasty. The scones were fab and the assortment of cakes and macaroons equally lovely. We had a choice of different coffees, teas and soft drinks and when I'd finished my latte I was offered another. The service was second to none. Such pleasant, cheery and helpful staff. An absolute credit. The covid rules were adhered to. We were asked to check in on arrival and given hand sanitizer. I would highly recommend.

Lovely service from a kind waitress. Even though it's having to follow COVID-19 regulations, we still had a great service with a smile. Plus, the chocolate milkshake for my son was so good, I wish I'd had that!

They're following social distancing rules although as I was going out of the door the lady assistant squeezed by me to get in. Seating fine, hand sanitizer available. The cake was lovely and it's a nice cup of tea.

Went there with a friend for a treat. Place seemed welcoming and cosy. Negative is we waited 20 minutes for our order which was two slices of cakes and two hot drinks! When a worker walked past we asked about our order. Waited a few min more but was given an apology so. The hot drinks and cakes were WOW. But service could be paid attention to as so many people were served soooo sooner than us despite them have come after us and bigger orders. Taste wise loved it. Was served with a smile amd after an apology am willing to go there again.

As a family we fancied a coffee and a cake, so popped in. No wait was great, ordered the drinks and a cake each. Drinks came fairly quickly, but I had to go and seek out the cakes almost 10 minutes later! The idea was to have the cakes and drinks at the same time. Obviously a novel idea in Nottingham's Patisserie Valerie. Considering the premium prices here I would have expected better.

Great choice of cakes and they do a very good mocha. We went for breakfast and just the one waitress serving everybody but she was doing a great job. Suggest picking a normal table rather than the comfy chairs as im fairly short and just no leg room even for me.

The manager needs to smile a bit more. Overall a great place that is poorly managed. I do feel sorry for them

The cakes and coffee are brilliant, no problem there. A bit pricey, yeah. Staff very friendly. What does let it down though is the incredibly long time you have to wait to get served. Now they have put tables out on the front, heaven knows how long you'll have to wait. We've been to Patisserie Valerie lots of times and each time is the same. But Saturday the 24/10/15 will be the last time. It took 30 minutes to actually get our coffee and cakes. There are plenty of staff, but to us it looks like they are running round like headless chickens, there seems to be no organisation what so ever. If, and when they ever they get their act together, then maybe we will start going there again.

Went for afternoon tea with prosecco yesterday with a dear friend and it was very nice. Sandwiches very fresh.. scones still warm and delicous cakes and yummy tea. Staff very attentive and the man who served us was very friendly. We will come back and thanks for a wonderful experience xx
