Always walked past here but my first time trying their pasty (usually I go to Malcolm Barnecutt or others). It's a pasty shop that's been opened since 1935. Got a giant pasty and I was surprised how good it was. The pastry has salt on it so can be salty to others (mine had the right amount) and I felt it help with the taste. The meat and veg ratio was good. It just felt like a good Devonshire pasty! And I got full. Its was nice and hot for the cold weather and the price felt right

I am very sorry to say in all the years l have been buying/eating Ivor Dewdney pasties l have always had a great pasty. But the pasty l had today didn't come anywhere as good as the past. I got the impression it was mostly potatoes. If there was meat it was hiding. The peppery taste seems to have departed as well. I will not give up on Ivor Dewdney l will buy another one soon. I hope this was a blip. If not l will stop buying.

Everything is getting more expensive - but some things are just worth it. Easy parking, nice staff, really nice fresh-from-the-oven pasties. I burned my hand, I burned my lips, but I couldn't stop eating.

This is the 2nd time we have ordered pasties from Ifor Dewdneys and again we were pleased with how easy it was to order. The delivery was quick and the driver very polite and helpful . Just came across this site, these guys used to sell pasties from a van at HMS Raleigh when I joined up in 1973, every morning 10 o'clock a pasty and a cuppa tea in a plastic cup, god that takes me back, I can fully indertsand how they're still around

Absolutely love Ivor Dewdneys since the 1950s We dont have them all the time for obviously reasons, but when we do they are not alot of crust on the pasty, its all pasty and we love the taste. Just been in and bought 8 frozen to cook ourselves when we fancy one, nice to have them in especially in winter saves going out in the cold. I think these are the best tasting pasty and always have been.

I've enjoyed Ivor Dewdney pasties since a boy and I say their unique style is amongst the best pasty I have ever tasted. They also do a mail order service, where your select pasties arrive frozen and ready for you to cook in the oven. Perfect in every way. Keep up the excellent work!

One of the classic Plymouth pastie shops, loved by many locals who enjoy their particular style of pastie and with other shops in Stoke & Devonport. My personal favourite. If you like pasties give them a try, they might be the style you prefer as well.

Lovely staff, great prices, and nice tasting pasty. my only problem was, with every bite, i was pulling gristle out of my mouth. i know times are tough but i personally wouldn't mind paying extra for a better quality of meat. (3x medium pasties, all the same, bought afternoon, 24/02/2019)

Gotta love an Ivor Dewdney pasty, been eating them for 30+ years, always pick one up when in the South West. Better than anyone else's.

Ivor's pasties were legendary to most Plymouth born people and I will always have fond memories of them. However, times change and in my opinion (just mine!) Ivor's have been left behind. Many modern pasty makers use chunks of steak in their recipes nowadays. Ivor Dewdney use a half minced beef. The pastry is delicious; it's light and flakey. Sadly, I now feel that there are better tasting and higher quality products on the market.

Although it's a touchy subject, and everyone has their favorites, this Louisiana and Texas guy, and his british spouse and in-laws, prefer Ivor Dewdney's. Their crust is thinner and tastier than most. Our favorite is their peppery pasty. Good service, good prices, and at the end of the day they donate unsold product to various shelters. Ivor Dewdneys is an essential part of the plymouth community.

Every Plymouth boy loves an ivory dewdneys pasty but they are so expensive now and too frequently they say "sorry I haven't got any large" then you're stuck with either not enough with medium or nothing at all because there's no way I'd pay for the giant

Dewdney's pasties are Plymouth legend. As Plymouth as Sir Francis Drake and Plymouth Hoe! Great pasties, and everyone visiting the city should make the pilgrimage to Dewdney's Cornwall Street. Just follow the wonderful aroma.
