A brilliant little cupcake and coffee shop near the Minster. Lots of choice and variety of both cakes and drinks. Good selection of gluten free options as well, we have the White chocolate and Raspberry gluten free cupcake. Seating is mainly outside the shop front but there is also a couple of tables inside up a few steps (the shop door is quite narrow). Staff are lovely, chatty and very knowledgeable about the cupcakes and York. We would definitely recommend a visit if you are nearby.

My favourite place in York for a gluten free cupcake! Been going here for a sweet treat for a few years now as it's delicious, good value for money and always lots of flavours to choose from. Visited Crumbs at the end of June whilst on a visit to York from Sussex for a wedding. Spotted this place on Google maps so decided to take a look and possibly purchase some cakes to take back home for my mothers birthday. I entered the shop and saw a lovely selection on delicious looking cakes on display. I was greeted with 2 lovely smiling shop assistant who offered excellent service. They were very helpful in me deciding what cakes to buy from the very large selection that had on offer. The cakes were nicely packaged up for me to take. I returned home with these cakes to a delighted mum. The cakes were delicious! Thank you Charlotte and Jennifer. I wish you could deliver to Sussex 😀

This is a lovely cupcake shop next to St Williams college, hidden in the shadows of York Minster. It has a relaxed shabby chic vibe to it and offers a range of delicious cupcakes and drinks. The staff are lovely. There is some seating outside when the weather is good and comfy seating inside when it's not! They also do cupcakes that are gluten free.

Another great visit to the best cake and coffee shop in York. You sit and enjoy the terrific treats and watch how great these young ladies are with customer service, it’s a real treat how engaging and cheerful they are especially in such hot weather. This is our favourite refreshment stop in York and normally would call in twice. Go see them. Service and choice is great. Sitting outside at present is lovely below the Cathedral. Have been calling in here for several years and despite a change of a few staff members recently the consistency of high level service and an enjoyable atmosphere is worth the visit. I ordered 3 cupcakes this week for my wife's birthday, however I was offered a 4th for a special price. They were my wife's favourite flavours and each cupcake was personalised with a card written for me to my wife in my own words. They were also delivered to my door on the morning of my wife's birthday. They only cost me £12 but I paid a tip on top as they made so much effort to make my wife's birthday so special. This is the most amazing service and I would strongly recommend as the cupcakes taste as good as they look. Thank you so much guys. Greatly appreciated ☺️ xx

Very small and cosy tearoom with nice tea and cupcakes. The décor is very nice and gives a warm homely feel. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the chai tea was merely brewed from a pre made tea bag and not made properly.

Out with my Sister cycling around York. We came across this café by chance, and glad we did. The staff were very friendly and attentive, they also didn't us mind parking our bikes by our table, too. Had a Coke and some fantastic Vanilla Ice-cream. A lovely café in a wonderful setting. I hope that the easing of the restrictions helps this little café. It deserves out support.

Wide selection of wonderful drinks and cakes! Very impressed that they offer Vegan Wednesday and a Gluten Free range! They were extremely accommodating considering we had an upset baby coming in from the rain and their hot chocolate is incredible! Well worth a visit, next time we are over we will be back to book their delicious cakes for our wedding (yes they are just THAT GOOD) Thank You Crumbs! :)

Came for an afternoon tea today, was absolutely lovely! Both girls there Jen and Charlotte are so accommodating and make you feel so welcome! The food was lush and not to mention the amazing choice of the cupcakes!!! (Raspberry one is my fave, worth trying it out!) the tea was such good value for money with a range of savoury and sweet and unlimited tea or coffee! The atmosphere is chilled and has a great view of the minster! Definitely worth a visit, you won't be disappointed!

My daughter loved decorating the cupcakes and bags and the afternoon tea was plentiful, fresh and tasty. This is literally the best cupcake place to exist. Me and my family have been here since it opened (years ago) and constantly tell others to come too. The shop is lovely, the staff are lovely, and the cupcakes are always fresh and taste amazing! They have a wide range and do daily specials, and if you don't like cupcakes I'd definitely recommend the blondies. I'd give crumbs more than 5 stars if it was an option. Xxx

Absolutely fantastic little find right in the heart of York. Having previously lived in York, i frequented this little cafe far more than i care to admit and now i have moved away i go back every time i visit York. There is a brilliant standard selection of cupcakes, with Lemon and Chocolate orange our favorites, and some daily special flavors. The staff here are extremely friendly and welcoming and the service is always impeccable. They also do cakes for celebrations which i will be looking forward to buying at some point in the future. You should definitely go there!!

Beautiful setting overlooking The Minster, especially lovely to sit outside and enjoy a cupcake here on a sunny day. They cater for a range of dietary requirements including gluten free and also vegan. They don't have vegan cupcakes every day but if you know you're coming on a certain day, they will make sure vegan cakes are available. Last year we also enjoyed a wonderful vegan afternoon tea, which was great value for money!

I used to come here all the time when I was a student, and it is the perfect place to have tea or coffee and some cupcakes. It's tucked away behind the minster so never feels to busy. There is a nice selection of cakes, however if you go at the end of the day, they run out of a lot of them. Loads of different teas to choose from as well!

Wow Crumbs is totally amazing. My sons 21st was right in the middle of Lockdown and he was stranded in York. I ordered a birthday cake from Crumbs and they totally delivered. The cake was awesome and although we couldn't get together as a family, the cake made his day special. So a huge thank you to Crumbs for saving the day in difficult circumstances
