R. B.This is a private family owned bank and has been since 1672, quite an achievement. In the days before street numbers it was difficult to find a place and hence "the sign of the golden bottle"
All wonderfully idiosyncratic, quirky and very English, long may they continue
S. H.My firm used to bank here for many years and I was lucky enough to receive an invite for an evening drinks party
A beautiful building housing many valuable paintings and artifacts - I saw at least 2 paintings by stubbs
Expected just staff to be in attendance but the directors were also there and all very nice friendly people
Still is a privately owned bank - probably the last in the country
Well run and efficient
I believe you may have to have a certain net worth to be a customer which prohibits me becoming one but otherwise would love to be one
The premises are, I understand, the oldest banking hall in the country in contineous use
Well done and hope you continue for many more years to come
