A great example of the engineering skill of the time when there were no computers or even calculators. Respect for the constructor and builders.

Went to the food market today on the bridge. Well worth a visit but get there early as I would say a lot of stuff would have sold out!

Magnificent scenery from the both sides of the bridge to the horizons of Jesmond Dene and Armstrong parks

A brilliant bit of engineering and gives you a brilliant view of jesmond dene below

The bridge itself is attractive in many ways, but the views down are something else. The white doves are also a reasonably reliable show.

Beautiful old road bridge dating back to 1876, built to join the Heaton and Jesmond area. As far as I know it still has the arts and craft stalls each Sunday, well worth a look.

Nice views over Jesmond Dene and the pet cemetery from up here, hit lucky and there's sometimes a market on with local arts and crafts on a Sunday

Nice view of Jesmond Dene

Beautiful park close to centre of city. Visit pets corner, let the kids run around in park, go for Coffee in coffee shop, what is not to love in jesmond dene, just under Armstrong bridge.

Wonderful to see this bridge again. When I was at King's in the late fifties I used to cycle - and in my Post grad days drive - over this bridge to and from Henderson Hall - the old one..!
