As a first-time buyer with no experience getting a mortgage, I used to be a sceptic when it came to mortgage advisors, thinking 'surely I can just do it myself?' but I am so glad I didn't. Katie and Deborah have genuinely gone above and beyond throughout to make sure I've got the best rate possible and the very best product for me, which wasn't easy as I had a blip on my credit report, meaning a lot of lenders wouldn't even consider me and I was quoted a terrifying 4.1% interest rate by a different mortgage advisor elsewhere which is virtually double what Katie and Deborah managed to secure for me with a reputable and well-renowned lender, which I know was no easy task and took hours of digging, phone calls and hard work! They kept me well informed throughout each stage of the process, responding to all my messages/emails typically within about half an hour or less and always being available to speak to at times to suit me. Katie helped me massively with the Help To Buy application too which I had no idea about how to approach! Now where do I begin... I first met Dean (the director) a few years ago at a networking event in Solihull and found him incredibly easy to talk to and very knowledgeable in his field. I was then introduced to Craig, who alongside Dean is now also a director. Craig went above and beyond to secure bridging finance for a semi commercial property I bought. This was my first insight into bridging and Craig explained everything to me in a way that was simple to understand. After several weeks the deal fell through (this was due to findings within a surveyors report) Although I was disappointed that the purchase was no longer going ahead, this taught me a lot about bridging finance and the requirements of lenders in order to obtain this. As Craig has become busier he introduced me to Paul and Gemma when I required new mortgages. Over the past year I have built a very good relationship with both Paul and Gemma and they both go above and beyond to ensure my needs are met. There has been several occasions where Paul has replied to emails or text messages outside of office hours, and about a week ago he replied to an email at 10pm! Pandemic + need to re-mortgage = very unlikely chance of this actually happening for us. Not with my mortgage broker it isn’t! I met Caroline Brunt of Signature Financial Services through a networking group I joined. I was instantly drawn towards her due to her friendly approach and cheery disposition, but most importantly I was hearing over and over again how fantastic she was in her sector and how she was a true ‘mortgage wizard’ which of course only added to her credibility. I’m a bit of a penny pincher and when I heard that she does all the hard work for you and it’s only at the point where documents are finalised, funds are released and the deal is yours that you pay Signature’s very reasonable fee. I can’t stress enough how impressed we’ve been with her service. In a very stressful period where everything was unknown, mortgage applications were delayed, lenders were being very stringent and interest rates varied regularly, Caroline managed to re-mortgage our property in a matter of weeks from beginning to completion. Finding us a fantastic rate and very responsive lenders. She followed up regularly, chased the lenders and solicitors for progress and answers on a regular basis in turn updating me (something I appreciated massively as I’m a bit of a control freak). I remember sitting at my kitchen table and having put the phone down at 8pm after Caroline had updated me once again my husband gasped and said ‘wow, she’s really pulling out all the stops for us!’ My response – No she isn’t pulling all the stops out for us! I have recently dealt with Caroline Brunt of Signature Financial Solutions for a re-mortgage of my property. Having previously been told that due to my self-employed status and being a single parent, it would be almost impossible to change my mortgage provider. I would like to express my huge thanks to Caroline and her team at Signature Financial Services, for enabling us to get our dream home. When my daughter moved into her first home thanks to Signature and after spending several days helping out, we decided the open plan layout was something I missed in my current home. So, then COVID-19 pandemic struck, we revaluated our lifestyle, our house felt too big and decided let’s move. So, after looking at several properties nothing had the “this is the one” feel.
