Yes the account opening process does take some time, but the team are always amazingly helpful and accommodating. And you get your bank account details & card on the same day!
I've used all the challenger banks previously (Tide, Starling, Revolut, Monzo etc), and as a small business owner, nothing beats the ability to walk into your local branch and get 10/10 customer service. Also a great telephone service, I've never had to wait more then a couple of minutes to speak to someone, and the call centers are UK based and are empowered to actually solve your issue/ problem.
Would 100% recommend!

L. S.After being with my old bank for almost 40 years I moved to metro. I first started dealing with metro for a business account. We had been frustrated when our old business bank got rid of the business counter and tried to make everything go through machines. When there were problems we either had to queue up for ages often to be told we had to phone some call centre. We had better things to do with our time.
Since moving our business account it has been amazing. The staff are so friendly, not just to us but to everyone that walks in. I have not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for anything and even then I was offered coffee and kept updated.
Having been with my old bank for so long I guess I kept giving them chances but the poor level of service and that I had to wait over an hour to do a chaps payment because there was only 1 member of staff dealing with all enquires. I was also told I could not pay cash into my bank account and that it should be done by bank transfer? Really!
Metro made it so simple. I think it took about 15 mins to transfer my account and set up a new account for my son. The whole time the gentleman dealing with me was chatty and fun so it didn’t feel like an onerous task. As I already had a business account they could use my details from this so I didn’t have to go through everything again. At last a bank with common sense. My account was set up and I walked out of the branch with my new card and account details. Their switching service was excellent and within a couple of weeks my old account was closed and my payments transferred . I didn’t have to do a thing except update some card payment details online for things which were not direct debits or standing orders.
Well done metro bank Watford - you are super Stars ⭐️
d. (.George is the best!!! Not wure why this branch has bad reviews but i got a very amazing response. Staff were friendly and not awkward. George went the extra mile for me!! Can’t complain
