The overall experience was quite good and the hair cut was fine, although for the price (£40) I was charged at, I would have hoped for a better cut. And would have preferred if my head was massaged during the hair washing part. I walked in and sent an email to book an appointment but it wasn't recorded, luckily they were still able to accommodate me 30mins after my original booking time.

It was my second time visiting Charlie's salon the 1st one I had my hair straightened which I loved the results and I also had my hair dyed and highlights which I absolutely loved as well. Charlie did exactly the color I was trying to achieve and it came out even better. I couldn't recommend more!!!

The salon is pristine clean including the washroom. There are plenty of hand gels around and staff were using them between customers. Charlie is very professional, skilful and down to earth. His staff are helpful and friendly. They made me feel comfortable and safe to get my hair done under the current circumstances. I’m extremely pleased with my hair treatment. A massive thanks to Charlie and his team! It was my first visit to the salon today and I have had such a great experience. Highly recommended!

This was my first visit to Charlie's and was pleased to find a lot of attention and diligence went into my Japanese rebonding and hair cut. The team took special care to treat the ends less harshly to avoid damage where chemicals had been applied before. Very friendly and listened to what I wanted. The only small issue was that the salon was quite busy so staff were a bit stretched between customers, and my hair took a lot longer than the amount of time I am used to. I'm glad though that despite being very busy, they didn't rush or take shortcuts with my hair. I will definitely be back

Got my girlfriend a haircut here a few days ago. She absolutely loves it. Says staff are so friendly, personable, and attentive. Impeccable service. She raves about it! The wash is apparently more of a relaxing spa treatment than a ‘wash’. Fantastic head massages I hear - will go for one myself soon and she’s also recommended it heavily to everyone. It was pointed out that they lose 20% on Treatwell bookings which is rubbish because they made my girlfriend so happy. So try and book in with them personally I suggest :)

I was delighted with the results of my digital perm! I had a consultation before going ahead with the appointment and was given realistic expectations of what could be achieved on relatively thin caucasian hair and the maintenance that would be required to keep my hair healthy afterwards. The service was excellent, staff very friendly and I felt very well attended to with up to three people at any one time getting my hair into rollers and hooking them up to the huge contraption that works the magic for a digital perm. The hair wash in particular felt more like being at a spa but with much more reasonable prices. I'll definitely be coming again.

Amazing!!! I have lived in Birmingham for a number of years and have always found difficulty in finding a good hairdresser that can cut and style straight, thick oriental hair. I’ve been to many “reputable” “expensive” hair salons but never felt the personal service or received the wow factor. Until I came across Charlie and his salon whilst wondering around town trying to kill some time. After doing a local google search with great reviews I made a last minute appointment who happened to be with Charlie on one of his quieter days. Well what can I say! I had intentions of just having a standard wash, cut and blow dry but ended up walking out with a wash, cut, balayage colour with no bleach (I wanted as little damage as possible), a Moroccan oil hair treatment and a curled style. I haven’t been to a hair salon before that has really took their time, demonstrated their passion and expertise in such a professional and friendly environment. My haircut appointments are no longer a dread instead I am looking forward to my next treatments with Charlie... I think a perm next ;-) Thank you for having me!

This was my first time at Charlie’s Hair. All so lovely and professional. The bleaching process took longer than all of us expected (beyond closing time) but Charlie and the staff put a lot of dedication and work to prioritise you and your hair. So impressed with the detail and care they put into the colouring process, nothing was rushed or skipped.

My hair has always been the source of a lot of unhappiness growing up - it would never be nice curly or nice straight but an awkward and very frizzy inbetween that was a lot of maintenance just to hide it away decently in an updo everyday. I had been researching permanent hair treatments for some years but never committed or convinced myself to do anything until I came across Japanese permanent hair straightening which claimed to permanently change the bonds in hair to be straight; a dream come true for me! My only hurdle was finding a salon within reach that offered the treatment; and so I found Axis! I booked the appointment directly (please do this as treatwell takes a significant portion of their earnings plus its more expensive for you too!) and was given a consultation on my hair's suitability and an allergy test which was very reassuring. When the day came I was looked after by Janet and Charlie who were both very friendly and professional, explaining the process throughout and making sure I was comfortable, I was thoroughly impressed. They spent hours and hours on my long hair and after the treatment I couldn't believe my eyes; my hair was sleek, straight and smooth in a way I never thought it could be; I didn't recognize myself! I was then given great aftercare advice and left the salon overjoyed! 3 weeks on and its still as though I left the salon yesterday! My hair is virtually no maintenance now and has given me so much confidence that I never had before; it's totally changed my life. I've never received so many compliments - and its all thanks to Charlie and Janet's hard work - I couldn't recommend them highly enough! Thank You both so very much, I can't wait to come back for touch ups in future!

Nice haircut and a relaxing hair wash! I paid £37, would have been £32 but due to my long, thick hair I was charged an additional £5. I didn't mind this but they offered no student discount or new client offer which was slightly disappointing.
