I hadn’t had my hair cut for nearly a year, and Anthony did such a nice job! He really knew how to work with my texture (thick hair, but very fine strands that resist volume.) My hair feels so fresh and light now, all ready for summer. I thought the salon was friendly and welcoming too. Thank you. :)

What an absolutely fabulous place! Came here for my first ever visit and felt totally pampered and lived the whole time! Stacey and her colleagues were amazing and answered all my questions and just made me feel so safe, valid and seen. I loved it so much and would recommend them to anyone. Not only do you have a finished result of perfect hair but the whole experience is 5 star, from the selection of tea you are offered when you arrive, to the head massage you get during shampooing (one of my favourite bits). A lovely,friendly team that together make you feel and look great.

I love my hair! Best haircut I've had in ages James listened to what I wanted and just got it! It was lovely. I had a very nice relaxed experience and I really love my hair everytime I see my reflection I feel very happy!

Well, I have booked to go back and that is a first for me as every salon I've been to in the past has not been a good cut/colour or taken notice of what I wanted! I had alot of thick damaged hair - down to the armpit length that needed a good chop off, showed Anthony a few stacked bob pictures and that's what I got. A very good cut, no rushing either, oh and the wash and head massage to start with was relaxing in the dark room under the fluffy thunder storm cloud - very inventive. This hairdresser may well have found her hairdresser! Thanks Anthony 😁

Visited a few years ago but was prompted to review after walking nearby recently. When I visited I paid £185 for ginger hair -paying more than what I had originally agreed in the consultation stage with a different hairdresser than booked and then ended up getting an unwanted outcome (blonde not ginger). I contacted the hairdressers privately at the time and was offered to come back free of charge for a treatment but it had to be within a month of visit-since I worked 9-5 it had to be a Saturday and it was over christmas / new years period so actually was at home for a time during this offered period so basically they couldn't accommodate as the only 2 Saturdays within the window they had no availability and there was no stretch. Apologies were given by the hairdresser lead/manager via owner when I contacted at the time, she had an off day and I could sympathise and did appreciate the apology and the message was kind but in hindsight the handling of the offer of a treatment free of charge after the event was poor and made me not want to go back despite a good friend singing praises since. Chatter amongst staff at the time was basically about how the owner was feisty and basically went through hair sales reps for a shortcut when they come around the salon - amusing but probably not the best advertisement for the owner in the company of clients.

Visiting the team at JamesB is like popping round your friend's house. Everyone is always friendly and helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. Antony was super knowledgable and gave me some great ways to look after my curly hair. My hair is now vivid pink and super healthy. The service here is like none other!

Had my haircut yesterday and my stylist was so attentive and thorough. From start to finish it felt like a special experience, and it's by far the best gents cut and style I've had. The stylist was actually still training at college part time but was still probably the best quality haircut I've had. The salon is great, well decorated and the hair wash room is very atmospheric. Everyone was friendly and I felt like it was good value considering the time it took, attention and haircut I left with.

The best hairdresser experience I’ve ever had. The staff were beyond lovely, welcoming and really easy to chat to. The atmosphere was relaxed. Hot chocolate was incredible. The highlight had to be the wash room with the rainstorm sounds and cloud. At no point was there ever a rush to get me out the door, staff took time and care and made sure I was happy. It was a bonus to find hairdressers who can style/finish curly hair. Overall I was really pleased and I’ll be back for fringe trims and future cuts.

Just had the most amazing hair cut from Anthony! I’ve been quite nervous about getting my hair cut because of previous bad experiences at another salon. Anthony talked be through everything he was doing in detail and listened to everything I said carefully and was so patient! I’ve come out of it feeling so much more confident and my hair has a great bit of life put back into it - can’t recommend enough!

Excellent experience! Gina really knows their stuff when it comes to curly hair and I’m very pleased with the outcome. Plus there was a real convivial spirit in the salon which was both enjoyable and will surely keep COVID at bay (everyone was wearing PPE which I’m sure will also help). Happy I’ve finally found a great stylist and salon in Bristol!

I absolutely love it!!! I haven’t had my hair cut since before the pandemic, so was pretty anxious about booking an appointment but I needn’t have worried. Crystal understood exactly what I was after, suggesting the best upkeep and cut for my hair type. The whole experience was calming, something I haven’t had from a hair cut in some time. Honestly couldn’t praise Crystal enough for making me look a million bucks! And yes I have booked my next appointment, again something I have never done before! Yay!

I've been a client of James' for around 6 years now and have basically followed him around as his business grew. I give him my loyalty as a client, because he and his team are a true talent. They are the kindest and warmest people you'd ever like to meet. When you visit for an appointment it's like coming home to see friends. What they do for my hair is beyond amazing and I leave every time, overjoyed with what they've created for me. Not only that, but James invests in his team, he takes pride in seeing them grown and develop and he offers them a wonderful space to do it in. Very good customer service, they really try and accommodate you as best they can. Lovely looking salon, really lovely decor and plants and fun music playing. My head massage was incredible, I felt really relaxed and spoiled the whole time I was there. Only had a cut but will definitely be back for a colour later on in summer I highly recommend Gina, she'll really listen to what you say and work with you to achieve what you want! Just be aware as she's a more junior stylist it takes slightly longer, but you'll be more than comfortable with a nice coffee and a friendly chat.

I had 'My First Mullet' with Gina today and I've only just stopped looking at myself in the mirror, hands down the best hair cut I've had. I've had the same hairstyle for years and so was apprehensive about the change but knew I trusted Gina from their haircuts I've seen on IG and friends. I've been blown away! ('Scuse the pun) Gina's colleague, Crystal and Alex and others who's names didn't get were all super friendly, welcoming and didn't mind me being loud and chatty, I was just really excited! Also, the washing room is spectacular, I loved the cloud, lights and sound fx and Gina worked through my really tangled hair very gently causing no pain at all and to top it off gives such a great head massage at optimum pressure. Would highly, massivley, HUGELY recommend!!

A pleasant salon with lovely staff. I have curly hair, which can be difficult to brush without a good coating of conditioner/hair mask. I’ve often had to grit my teeth during hair brushing at other salons, however, my stylist at JamesB hair was very gentle and careful, and the experience was very relaxing and entirely pain free 😄I will definitely be back.

I've been here twice and both times I've recieved fantastic treatments. Lauren really sorted out my hair, thoroughly fixed it up and got it back into fighting shape. More recently I changed my hair colour with Crystal who absolutely nailed the colouring and created exactly what I envisioned in my head. The wonderful team here really make this place what it is, super comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. 10/10 would reccomend

I was booked in for a hair cut & treatment, a little apprehensive because of the pandemic, but immediately realised I was in a safe and very well prepared environment from when I came in. All of the staff are incredibly pleasant and went the extra mile to show me how to look after my hair, and help with any insecurities I may have (primarily about losing it!) to finish it off, the cut & treatment was probably the most relaxing experience I’ve had in a salon & I’ve already booked in for my next session.
