Had a fantastic experience today - Tom was my stylist, super meticulous, took the time at the start to go over exactly what I wanted and talk through how I usually style my curls, and then made sure I was happy at every step along the way. My hair is a bit complicated but this is definitely one of the best hair cuts I’ve ever had, amazingly good value. And such a chill atmosphere, vinyls playing and plenty of friendly chatter. I booked a last minute appointment with Marius on 26th July and it is one of the best haircuts I’ve had. He sat me down and spent ages looking at how my hair fell naturally so the cut is perfect. I’ve washed it several times and it still looks amazing. 100% recommend x

It can be really difficult for women and non-binary people to find barbers where they can get a trim without being turned away, or charged twice as much as men in a salon. Shotgun barbers know this and are changing the game. The barber who cut my hair at Shotgun was an absolute legend - gave me the best cut I've ever had, was really kind and friendly, and it was great value too. He really went above and beyond! I'd recommend this place to anyone, of any gender. Try to book in advance though during the first couple of weeks of lockdown easing, as they're super busy at the moment.

Had a restyle with Marius. I wanted quite a big change, with lots of choppy layers and texture and some feathery bangs. He absolutely nailed it, and the result is awesome! After years of searching Bristol for a friendly, welcoming, unisex barbers a few years ago a colleague sent me over the road to Shotgun. The boys at the Cotham Shotgun are lovely and listen intently. Great chat and music in the shop and very good physical distancing practice. Have regularly chatted absolute nonesense and a great cut to boot! They now cut mine (short) and my partners hair (medium) and my best friends hair (long) See you in a few weeks :)

Been going to Shotgun for a couple of years now since moving to Bristol, I can be somewhat picky when it comes to my hair, I want the experience to be social and maybe have some deep chats or if you can’t be arsed to chat it’s chill chill. Bumped into this place and was pleasantly surprised. The first impression of the staff was not to the best as communication was short and direct. Later found out that they were just focused on their ongoing work and customer. It turned out they were really cool and friendly. My hairdresser took me down memory lane as he also had an Boglin as a child and had got one displayed at his workstation. The place played really funky music and I ended up with probably the best haircut and beard trim I've had so far. Great place and I'm definitely going back for my next cut. Well worth a visit!

Stylists need to spend more time truly understanding what style the client has in mind. Even with very specific requests, I have sometimes got a good cut just not in the style I was looking for. For a higher end barbershop I expect a bit more consultation. However the cuts are always good quality.

A great place to get your haircut, thorough and precise. Was very happy with the service and staff. I came at an off-peak hour (around 10am on a weekday) so can't comment on waiting times. Loved the vinyl! Great touch!

Very welcoming and the staff are all seemingly great people people and a laugh to be around. Reasonably priced and charges based on length not on gender, which, of course, is very outdated and seems pretty backwards at this point. I have quite a long mullet, which over quarentine has got out of control and even beforehand have had trouble getting a decent trim of. However my Baber, Jack, who has apprantly been about and knows his Michael Knights from his Martin Riggs assured me he knew exactly how to supe up the ol' lowrider and low behold, after an hour of a very attentive trim, looks best it ever has. So to summerise: if you're looking to get a fresh professional trim after a lockdown spawling spesh this is a great place and great value, especially if you've got a non traditional style.

Bossman sorts you out like no other. I had a skin fade and I didn't even know my head could be so smooth. Is quite expensive so lost a star but is definitely worth it if you have extra money to splash. I'll be coming back here for a very good cut if I have a bit event coming up.

Not only are the SG team massively accommodating ie refreshments, ask you about your music taste and put on some records, you are always greeted with a huge smile and hug from Sam! Been going here for years now and Shotgun is the only place I trust my partner getting his haircut at. He's been to a few other places about in Bristol if he has not been able to make it to Shotgun Cotham Hill (before opening Shotgun Bear Pit) If knowing my bf had been to a barber other than Shotgun I would always dread what haircut he would come back with. I would actually advise my bf to not get a haircut if he could not get to SG. I have been so disappointed with the haircuts other barbers in Bristol have given him. Truly awful! You want your man to look nice, not like a shaven sheep. It is like they don't have a clue, hacking into his hair like that. You can always trust you'll come out looking fresh from Shotgun, be it Cotham Hill of Bear Pit. I was so happy they opened the second Shotgun! recommend to anyone and everyone. Experienced, quality barbers.
