Tina and Jenny did the hair and make up for myself, my 5 bridesmaids and my mum at my recent wedding. They travelled up to the Cairngorms for the wedding, were brilliant all through the planning (and postponing!) process and everyone commented on our beautifully done our hair and make up was. All 7 of us have fairly different hair and skin, but Tina and Jenny were brilliant at adapting. Tina did a particularly beautiful job with my sister's very curly hair. On the day, nothing was too much, including minor change and top up requests. My trial day was also a great experience. I'm so glad I chose such talented hair and make up artists!

Dalma was lovely and gentle with my thin hair, she added so much volume to my hair that usually is flat and tired looking. She gave me a lot of advice and recommended some products to achieve the look I want. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I think they really understand how to deal with curly and chaotic hair. Will definitely come back!

Had done some research on hairdressers that had a bit of curly hair experience. I was not disappointed with Lipstick Lashes & Locks. Ariana was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable! As a curly haired lady, I'm used to hairdressers wanting my hair straight and cutting shorter than intended as the curl always bounces up. Ariana took time to listen to how I wash and style my curls, guided me with the best way to colour and tone it and cut to suit my curl pattern (wet and dry cutting), even the seats assist with curly hair drying as they lie back. So happy with the results. Finally I have found a hairdresser who knows how to work natural curls. Happy customer, will definitely visit again.

I've been getting my hair cut here for years. I like it so much I came back and got a haircut here 6 months after moving to England. I have curly hair and they know how to handle that here. It's also refreshing to have rock music playing on the radio instead of chart music like in many hairdressers. That said, it's a nice quiet salon. They have a student discount too.

Today I had my first experience in this salon, and it might be the last. I do apologise for doing this review but something has to be said. I went with good intentions of trying this salon which I have always seen since I work nearby and I have read great review of the place. However, my experience was not all positive. I went there with the idea of getting a dark copper balayage with some copper highlight in the middle and having already a blonde/light copper balayage, I thought it would have been easy. I didn't want any bright colour as I wanted a change. So, I showed them pictures and discussed together the colour. The girl who did my hair consulted her colleague to see which colour was the best to use. Both of them saw a purple base in the picture, which I did not notice, but I said to myself, they are the expert and I let them do it. I spent almost three hours in the salon and I ended up having a colour I did not plan to have: my hair are a mix of red, bright/dark purple. There is some copper, but you really have to look for it. I liked the colour, but it was not what I wanted nor what I asked. I did not want something bright and yet you can see my head miles away. At the end, I said that maybe she should have added some dark colour in the mix, so the girl noticed that I was not completely happy with the outcome and she asked me if I had time to stay and maybe do some dark colour in the middle. But after three hours I had to go to work. In addition to this, I did not have a proper blow dry. I don't know If I had to ask for it but she just dry it without giving any volume to the hair and the edge of my hair felt so dry. Not mentioning that the hair in the front were still a bit humid and weren't dry properly. The girl then offered me to take another appointment, which I Kindly refused. She was kind and I know she tried her best to please me, but unfortunately, it was not a success. As I said, I can stand the colour, but was nothing like what I asked for.

Relieved to find a knowledgeable and gentle curly hairstylist. I have 3b/3C hair and this was my first cut out of lockdown (over one year). Tina gave a wonderful dry cut and asked good questions regarding my preferences of products & care. I felt in good hands all throughout. Would def recommend to other naturally curly people!

I was lucky enough to have Lipsticks, Lashes and Locks do the hair and make-up styling for my wedding and I cannot recommend them enough! They did an excellent job on myself, my bridesmaids and mother - all of whom had different needs and styles. They talk through the hair and make-up in a way that's easy to understand and tailored to each individual which was great for me, as I don't often wear make-up! They are also incredibly good fun and made the getting ready part of my wedding day really fun and memorable.

Had my hair cut by Tinaand I've come away feeling so much more confident! I have very thick, coarse, curly hair and find it very hard to find someone who can cut it well and understands my hair type! Love this place for curly hair. This is the first place I've been to in Edinburgh where they've known about the curly girl method and had the products to match. I had a curly fringe added and I was initially skeptical because all curls have to adjust after a cut but after the first wash I was ecstatic with how they turned out. Just had a curly cut yesterday with Amy. The shop was set up really well with limited numbers and in line with all current recommendations. First curly cut and the first haircut I've had where someone actually understood my hair and cut it to what it looks like everyday not what it looks like for 10 minutes after you walk out. Lovely salon with talented and friendly staff. I have been getting my hair cut by Amy for a while now and love the way she does my hair. She is very sweet and chatty and understands what I like. The salon has a relaxed feel and the staff are very accommodating. This is the only salon I've ever repeatedly returned to.

Booked a haircut here firstly for the quirky retro decor. The salon is amazing and everybody so friendly. Wasn't too sure what I wanted done as it was my first haircut in a year - and always a bit scary trying somewhere new! Loretta put me instantly at ease and seemed to know what I wanted even though I wasn't sure myself! I've ended up with a gorgeous style I love and am completely chuffed to bits with. I've been going here for a few years now. All I've ever had is a wet cut, usually when I've let my grow so out of shape it's a mess! Tina though makes an excellent job of restoring it. In fact it's one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Very reasonable prices. Comfortable friendly salon. Would definitely recommend.

Super friendly quirky salon - very happy to have found Tina and her team. Vintage hair styles are her speciality and I have enjoyed every visit to this small salon which has a huge heart. Totally recommended. The orange 1960s typewriter is a great piece of wall art! Can I give 6 stars please?

After the first time I went there, I was completely disappointed with the coloring (balayage) and the haircut. I think it was a misunderstanding between that hairdresser and me so I got a dip dye instead of balayage highlights. I took the courage and went back to ask if they can do something about it. Tina, the owner was extremely understandig and I could go back only two days later. They've adjusted the color and the cut as I wanted and the result is amazing. I'm really really happy I went back, because they want to make every customer happy and work hard to do this. Also it's the most inspiring hairdressing salon I've ever seen. I can only recommend this place to everybody. Thank you Tina and team again for this great experience!

I have been going to this salon since it opened at Causewayside and highly recommend it! Tina and Loretta a super friendly and are always really accommodating when I nip in for a fringe trim or last minute cut. I have really thick wavey hair and they always cut it really well and style it beautifully. If you are looking for a new hairdresser in the area I would definitely give them a try.

Make-up tutorial from Kirsty was warm, personal, professional, educational and practical at once. Learnt more in 2 hrs than from 4 decades of magazine articles, inc choosing make-up colours and products to suit my complexion, application techniques, and how to emphasise my best features while minimising my lesser-favoured ones. Astounding and a little emotional to see my younger-day features returning to life, without a trace of a mask-like appearance and not a hint of product-selling.
