My first time in this place, I had a very nice and good hairdresser. He really understood what I wanted and ensured to give me easy-to-follow natural suggestions for my hair. Haircut was perfect, and he did very minimal styling to match my natural hair tendencies and give it a bit more volume. Second time was not as great as the new hairdresser (whilst being lovely) had suggestions that don’t match my hair type or my own style, and ended up straightening my hair quite a lot. I didn’t enjoy the final style at all but the cut was clean and well-done, and after a wash, I managed to get my hair back to the shape I enjoy. If you come in, ask for Elias!

I had a recent cut from the lovely Andrejs and I couldn't be happier! My hair is curly/very fluffy so sometimes proves difficult to work with, but he had no trouble at all! I definitely recommend Andrejs and the salon's services very highly.

Went for a trim with Elijah a week ago. I usually go to a barber. But what a treat. I got a shoulder massage and a great haircut. Elijah was really good at explaining what was wrong with my haircut but also what was right. He styled my hair perfectly and it was easy for me to restyle. It costs a bit more than a barber but this guy is worth every penny. I’ll definitely go back.

Can't speak highly enough of the team. I have been to the beauty side for years and the waxing is so quick and painless. Last weekend I had my nails done and a blow dry and it was brilliant. That head massage too....divine! I also took my little boy and they were so sweet with him. Lovely experience!

Just had a Hollywood wax for the first time - as you can imagine I was a tad nervous. The waxing was clean, precise and done quickly. Cannot believe how professional and kind she was also! Will defo use again :)

Good salon offering hair and beauty treatments. Staff are very professional and competent, I've had haircuts and waxings from a few different people and never left unhappy. It's not super frills (robes, fountains, green smoothies etc.), but is a great option for well done, reasonably priced, everyday services. Be warned they only take cash.

I’ve been going to this salon for several years. The team there are always so lovely and helpful. They do a wide variety of treatments, more than most salons. It’s great to have a ‘one stop shop’ for all things body and hair wise. They are always happy to provide advice on products and treatment frequency and you will never feel silly no matter questions you have.

I've been going to 171 for years - hands down the best wax experience! All the ladies are great, they make sure it's as quick and as painfree as possible. Would definitely recommend!

Great if you want a basic, no-frills treatment - these guys are cheap and I'd say don't go there if you like to be pampered. But they get the job done and are pretty reliable when it comes to booking. They have a hair salon in the front and private rooms at the back for waxing etc. They don't accept cards though, so make sure you've got cash before you go.

Been looking for a good clean place for my waxing requirements. The salon is spotless and Lorraine was extremely professional and efficient. (Islington Council is right opposite so cleanliness will always be good here I reckon!)

Had my haircut by the lovely Gerry here yesterday. Have had some bad experiences with other stylists who don't llsten to what you want and just do the same cut they do for everyone. But Gerry istened to what I wanted and advised me what would and wouldn't work with my hair. I'll be coming back! Highly recommended.
