Not familiar with the area but popped in today as had been working close by. The girl that did my cut was very friendly and accommodating. Normally I don't enjoy the dull chit chat whilst having my hair cut but it was nice to have a refreshing conversation about music and life in contrast to the usual awkward pleasantries of being asked about your work etc. If I'm in the area again and need a haircut I'd definitely go back here.

I'm a customer of Barbe - Rousse over three years. I lived in different places over the London , but this hairdressers place always been with me. Very experienced, professional, friendly staff, owner and team working together like little family. Place is between few tube stations, so easy to reach. Very cosy shop, posh baroque interior design - with big golden frame mirrors and beautiful framed pictures, and even hairdressers chair keeps it design with interior. Always had a great chat and laugh during visits. My haircut always made to perfection, brilliant place to visit and get taken care of. Advise everyone and wish more places like this.

I was in a hurry and needed a haircut quick, so who would have imagined that In the unlikely environs of Aldgate, I would get my best haircut for years? The lovely Madonna Santa took me in and gave me the haircut that I've always wished my hairdresser would give me, but usually fell short. Reasonable prices too, which makes my once monthly schlep from West London worthwhile in more ways than one. Recommended

The place itself is quite nice and the staff were friendly enough, although she was a bit rough with the clippers and didn't lubricate the skin when using a straight razor, so my neck is a bit sore now. I don't think I'd be returning any time soon, don't get me wrong the haircut is okay, but that's about all I can say about it really. I usually feel like I'm getting a good amount of care being put into my hair and skin when I go to my usual barbers. Here, not so much. I only took a gamble with this place as it was local to my work and really hoped it'd be a good experience, but alas it did not pay off. I usually pay £11 for a haircut from my usual barbers and at Barbe-Rousse I paid £19. I did not feel like it was good value for money especially considering the location and the cost with a sub-par haircut.

Amazing place. I walked past it every day on the way to work and today I decided to pop in for my haircut and I loved it. I never caught the name of the woman that was cutting my hair but she was super friendly and I am so happy with my haircut. This is definetely going to become my new local barber’s now. Hugely surprised. I usually get my hair cut in the West end but had to get cleaned up in a hurry one day. They were so efficient and did such a good job, it makes me feel like I've been flushing my money down the toilet on expensive West end cuts!
