My first visit to the salon. The salon’s focus on good, healthy, naturally styled hair aligns with what I want and it is surprisingly difficult to find a London salon that does decent cuts that work with your hair. But my decision was made by the positive reviews from wavy/curly hair for Oli. When I asked questions, it felt like he had a genuine opinion on what would work well. My hair is unpredictable so I am impressed that he got it right on the first go. It looks good after I have air dried without any styling. I also didn’t feel rushed even though the salon was busy. I usually dread getting my hair washed but the person (didn’t catch a name) was so gentle and supported my head like a newborn baby so no dodgy neck.

I had Oli Brewer give me my first ever proper bob and couldn’t be happier! He was so lovely the entire time and gave me an even better haircut than the inspiration pictures I had brought along. I don’t need to style it either as it follows the natural movement of my hair which I love. I’ll definitely be returning - Oli you’re the best!

I booked an appointment with Oli after growing out a bad haircut from a different salon. I came in with a specific idea of what I wanted and Oli really listened to me and ensured I was happy with his plan before cutting my hair. We had a lovely conversation during my appointment and he was great. Oli styled my hair on the day and I left feeling very confident, and it has continued to look great throughout the week after I have washed it and let it air dry. Best salon experience I’ve had by far. Beautiful natural colouring by Rebecca which looks like I’ve just come back from a sunny holiday and is so low maintenance, exactly what I was looking for as a new mother. I’ve had some really good hair cuts over the years, but this is a different level. I read the bio’s of the stylists on the GN website which gave a really good feel of who might be cutting your hair. I wanted to have James so had to save up a bit. Booked but cancelled my first appointment - bottled it, but still wanted my long hair back to Meg Ryan messy bob of the 90’s!! Finally went for it last week and I have never known such amazing hair to sit on top of my head. Can not stop messing it up and loving it! This man is a hair genius and also an absolutely lovely guy. Saving for the next cut!

This was my first haircut in 6 months and my first experience of the GN salon. I was a little nervous but was immediate put at ease by the friendly receptionist. I had booked with Oli because he had many good reviews already and I wasn’t disappointed. He sat me down and listened to my tale of woe regarding my hairstyles over the last two years, then suggested what he could do for my hair. The lady who washed my hair made it such a lovely experience, with her gentle touch and a sublime head massage. Oli cut and styled my hair in a relaxed and easy way and I left feeling confident and happy. I had been a bit uncertain about how I would feel in such a trendy setting, (as I am easily old enough to be Oli’s mother!) but I was made to feel most welcome. I would happily recommend to anyone the salon overall, and Oli in particular.

Getting my hair cut here is a real treat. I had a fresh new bob cut in by Oli earlier this week, and I absolutely love it. He's such a great & friendly guy, cuts hair fabulously and made me feel very at ease and reassured when he chopped in my new hair. Had a sublime haircut done by Harry! Before coming I just wanted to trim the dry ends and had no idea how to elevate my bangs. Thus I’ve told Harry about it and just relied on a professional. I had the most amazing haircut with Oli a few weeks back. I have had long bangs for a while but wanted to try a slight reshape, keeping the bangs but with a different feel. Being petite, I am always worried about proportions (which has been an issue in the past) but Oli carefully took me through every step, making sure I was happy at all times. Highly recommend George Northwood Salon if you want effortlessly cool, "undone" hair. My favourite duo are Deme and Frankie for colour and cut. They will work wonders on your hair. I have never received so many compliments on my hair before. But in all honesty, anyone you will see here at George Northwood will know their stuff and they are all genuinely so kind! The colour team headed up by Sally are so talented and intuitive. More recently, I've been seeing Deme who is so good at listening to her clients and totally dedicated to delivering a fantastic result, every time. George Northwood has been my go-to salon for more than 4 years and the main reason I keep coming back is to see Elliot, who I now trust blindly to cut my hair. Elliot makes the process of going to the salon a delight, he is great to talk to and also extremely professional - he listens carefully to what you want, ensures that the cut he is giving you is suitable for your face structure and cuts hair in a way that is easy to style long after your cut. He is also the only hairdresser to date who can do beautiful, loose waves on my unbelievably straight hair that last, without even using much product. In the past any blow dry I got - that normally cost double than what George Northwood charge - would be ruined an hour after I left the salon. I'd also recommend Phoebe for color and the whole salon for its luxurious, yet laid-back, welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely open plan salon with friendly staff. I visited here to get quite a drastic cut, which I was a little nervous about when I initially arrived but my stylist Lotte was great at listening to what exactly I wanted done and talking me through the options which would work for me, how she'd go about cutting it. Sometimes it can be quite nerve wracking to make a big change but she put me at ease. What was also great about here, which I don't find in many other salons, was how I was asked what my day to day routine with my hair was - and then how my stylist worked with that in mind to give me a style which was effortless to manage after my appointment. For a celeb hairdressers salon, you'd think it would cost a small fortune but the prices were competitive and you really felt like you received one on one attention rather than being rushed out the door to make way for a bustle of other customers. The salon is really laid back and you can just chill out with a tea or coffee while your stylist works some sort of magic on your hair.

I have been going here for a while and love it for the haircuts. Though I was disappointed to realise that my favourite stylist Fabz seems to not be working there anymore. The problem however lies with the hair colouring services. I had my hair coloured once and paid a small fortune only to find out that I had to blow dry and style my own hair, which I'm not good at and didn't give me that special nice hair feeling that you usually get on leaving a salon. No one told me about this nor did I read it anywhere on the website. I have therefore stopped going here for colour services and much prefer Trevor Sorbie. This is such a let down, and it is literally he ONLY salon in London if not the world (I have visited many) that makes you blow dry your own hair, unless you want to pay extra to have it done. Come on guys at GN, you need to sort this out, too many people complaining and you're losing customers over this!
