I regularly visit Hershesons for haircuts, hair colour and permanent blow dry. This time I needed a transformation, going from waist length hair to shoulder length. Samuel gave me a fabulous cut, exactly how I wanted it - face framing and low maintenance. Andre then gave me a beautiful balayage that superbly enhanced the cut and made my look super glamorous. Overall I am extremely happy with my look and will continue to go to Hershesons for all my hair needs.

Had an incredible first haircut at Hershesons with David G! He and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and David was a genius at understanding what I wanted and needed and delivered just that - something that is super low maintenance and with great movement, volume, and shape.

Whilst it is expensive to have your hair done here, you get what you pay for. The stylist and colour technician spend time getting to know you and what you like. I’ve had four appointments here now and it’s a luxury but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Maxine’s eye for colour is intuitive and always spot on and David has given me cuts that mean I don’t even need to dry my hair and it will fall beautifully. I’m very happy with the service but was hesitant to write this review because I don’t want everyone to take the appointments!

I have been going to Jordan G for 7-8 years now and I would literally not go to anyone else to cut my hair. I’m still impressed every single time. I’ve also had colour with Kim who is great. I have had one bad experience with colour with Alexei and I would not see him again. Other than Alexei all staff have been professional and helpful.

Hershesons is my go to place for everything from Manicures to Brows and Blow-drys because I always know the result will be perfection so it genuinely takes the hassle out of the whole 'where do I go for this?' issue. This visit I had a manicure and I arrived early hoping to be fit in and I was which was impressive as they were busy. The manicure by Dry-By was flawless as always. Perfect shape, colour and neat cuticle work.

What an amazing experience on every level. After my long-term hairdresser moved abroad, I have used several people over the last few months at great expense with poor results. Refreshingly Kim at Hershesons really knows and understands hair. She was an enormous help in repairing a dreadful colour experience that I’d I needed to fix and did a superb job. And it’s a stunning salon with excellent coffee. Extremely good value for money. I will not be going anywhere else from now on !!

This salon is amazing. I’ve been going to my cut and finish genius Luke S for over a decade and my wizard colourist André for 3-4 years now. I won’t go anywhere else. Pedi also brilliant and recently I’ve discovered nails too - normal manicure and gel. I am really perfectionist and if I had a criticism I would voice it. But I don’t. Happy happy happy with great hair and nails😀

He’s an absolute wizard when it comes to that undone, effortlessly cool lived-in look which suits my lazy and most importantly he cut and styled it in a way that replicates how I will at home. Alexe coloured my hair beautifully, it looks natural and I feel like an enhanced version of myself. Alexe took the time to find out what I wanted and advised how best to achieve it. David has cut my hair a couple of times and each time I have loved the results. You can tell that David is passionate about hairstyling, and loves seeing the final result. Exceptional. Hershesons is a must. I'd been going to the same hair dresser for 20 years, and as we all know it's very hard to stray from what you know. A family friend had consistently been recommending her consultant stylist Natasha H at Hershesons. I booked in and never looked back. She is exceptionally talented. I knew instantly that I was in safe hands, especially as I have curly hair, it can be tricky to tame. But Natasha, with her wealth of experience knew exactly how to work with my hair and create a wonderful yet organic style. She is a warm, positive person who has a very calming presence which immediately puts you at ease. Due to the 3rd and longest lock-down I had not seen my hairdresser (Amir) at Daniel Hershesons for 6-long months!!!! My much awaited apt was this week, and I am so very grateful. As a matter of introduction, Giulia and myself are assiduous clients at the light salon. We have found out about the light salon right after last summer and we have ever since become much addicted to the fantastic service. We would especially like to compliment Amy F and mention that she is the main reason why we keep coming back. She is extremely knowledgable about the products/service she provides (we base our product routine on her advice nowadays and we see the improvements!) and, especially, her care is non comparable to any other (and trust us we have tried multiple salons across the globe ;)) So a fantastic service and fantastic people working here! The best recommendation we could make.

Bought vouchers for a friend’s 40th birthday. Firstly there were glitches with the voucher delivery, then unfortunately with my friend’s booking which made her quite upset. When this was raised with the branch manager he handled the situation extremely well and put my friend at ease by giving her complimentary services and making her feel pampered. I’m not the sort to write negative or even lukewarm reviews, so it pains me to write this, but after three visits to the Hershesons space on Berners Street I’m afraid I have some mixed feelings about it all that it would be wrong not to share. My first visit to Hershesons back in December 2018 could not have been more wonderful – I visited Iris at Sunday Riley for the Ice Clear Facial and she was so knowledgable and so attentive, and the treatment itself made *such* a difference to my skin, as did the products she recommended. I came away feeling valued and looked after. My second visit in December 2019, for a blow-dry, was underwhelming but not problematic. It felt a bit rushed, and I don’t like that they sit you on the little station next to where DryBy and The Light Salon are, but I had no legitimate cause for complaint. Sadly, my most recent visit this afternoon is probably going to be my last. Although the girls on reception couldn’t have been lovelier, and my hair fortunately looked great when I left, the experience itself was patchy at best. Firstly, I was given to a trainee who had to be talked through how to wash my hair as she was washing it, which just made me feel uncomfortable and spoiled the experience a bit. As a former business owner myself, I obviously understand the need for training, but when you’re paying the same amount as you would be otherwise you want to know that you’re in good hands, especially at a salon with as lofty a reputation as Hershesons. I would urge the management to either be more transparent about their training methods, or rethink them. Secondly, I had to ask twice for a coffee, as they forgot about it the first time. I assumed this would be complimentary as it is in even the smallest salons but, no, it was added to my bill at the end. Again, a little transparency wouldn’t go amiss. The blow-dry itself wasn’t bad, but the overall experience made me feel like I was being fobbed off, and like I was in a different category to the other customers there. I am of the opinion that every paying customer ought to get the same reception, regardless of whether they’re a TV star or an influencer or just a “regular” person who happens to be in London for work, like me. I just don’t think it would be worth it again. Pros: stunning space, great products, and you’ll probably walk out with decent enough hair. Cons: too busy for its own good, patchy service, not necessarily a great experience from start to finish as you would hope.

Getting my haircut at Hershesons is the best! Grace has been cutting my hair since I started going here and I wish my hair would grow faster so I had reason to get a trim more often. The price is higher than most salons but the treatment I got here and the LOOK of my hair was the best. I have a fringe and fringe cuts at other salons have always left me with a wonky fringe or not the style I asked for, I ended up cutting it myself in the end for a while. Grace shaped my fringe perfectly and next time I see her I'm going to ask for a new style - which I know she'll perfect too!! :) Not only that, but the layers she gave me were lush. The staff in general were all lovely, and the post-shampoo head massage was great too. I really want to try some more of the services here - think I'll have to pick some more shifts up at work... but it's well worth it!!

Here is my experience at Hershesons! Color: Maxine gave me the best color i've ever seen. It's worth mentioning that her technique was gentle with my damaged hair. She also fixed the color of my fringe the day after because we weren't sure about it (it turned out great). It has been almost 4 months now since my last color and i doubt i'd ever color it again unless the colorist is maxine herself. Brows: Jansu, hands downs, The best in London. Haircut: Although my hair doesn't enjoy being cut using razors, Luke has cut and fixed my hair even better than the style I had asked for. He is very talented and has given me his honest opinion. Staff & Place: All the staff were friendly and the place was cozy although sometimes crowded. The cafe is also a cute additive. Price: The services are a bit pricy but the staff are very talented and i think it's worth the investment.

Maxine Heale has been my hair doctor for years now and she literally saved my hair from a terrible high street hair dressers damage. Not only is she arguably the best colourist I’ve ever had and I’ve coloured my hair for 30 years, but she is honest and friendly and warm. She gives me great advice on all beauty related issues. I have read a review on here that is very bad and I can’t disagree more. Maxine bends over backward to fit her clients in when they need her. In 4 years she’s only let me down once and is was a major emergency. So for me all in all it’s 5 stars all the way. Suggestions: turn down the air con and maybe provide gluten free food options!!! But minor issues which don’t detract from the 5 star rating.

My skin got better day by day and she may have made me swear during extraction however, I have never had extraction without 0 trauma to my skin. No wonder she is usually fully booked. The light salon is my quick fix for a series of mini facials using LED light, perfect for an occasion if you want that extra glow or want to help your skin on a road to recovery. Ask for Sophia, she will listen to all your skin needs. For beautiful nails ask for Natalia. For bespoke brows and lashes that wow, ask for any of the girls working for Suman brows. The best brow specialists in London. Great coffee and snacks available all day at Estelle's cafe. And don't get me started on the flavours and portion size! I am yet to try the waxing. If anyone is running late, it's usually due to the client before you being a latecomer and all the stylists and therapists definitely make up for the lost minutes!! By the time you leave you are left feeling too special to remember. :)

For a good many years I have been travelling up to London from Petersfield to get my hair cut by Richard Thompson, who is a very fine stylist. He is simply the best I’ve known at making me look good and this justifies the journey. There is something incredibly depressing about bad haircuts. Luckily for me they belong to the period before Richard was recommended by my most stylish friend - what a great tip that was. The new Berners Street premises north of Oxford Street have quite a buzz to them. Recommended.
