I usually find going to a salon to get my hair cut a daunting experience. Not so today. I booked an appointment upon the recommdation of a friend. I was greeted warmly at the reception and taken upstairs to the salon's bar/waiting area. My stylist, Tommy, came out to chat with me about my hair. I felt confident that he had listened to my needs and was now quite keen to have my cut. Madison settled me at the backwash and suggested the shampoo and conditioning products she was going to use. She was friendly, just the right amount of chat and executed a great scalp massage!
The salon has a familiar feel to it. Friendly, approachable staff whom meet your eye contact with a warm smile. The salon manager was the only one that looked very stressed but I imagine running such a high-profile establishment would very easily age you beyond your years. I declined the offer of a drink and relaxed into easy conversation as Tommy cut my hair. He paused a few times throughout to check I was happy with the length before drying my hair whilst explaining how to maintain the style myself. Tommy demonstrated a product he was using but I did not feel pushed into purchasing it.. I am very happy with my hair. My overall experience of the salon was a very good one. I felt I had been well looked after and certainly look forward to future visits.

I was very happy with my hair colour and cut, but overall was very disappointed in how it was serviced. I expected a premium service for the price. I paid £450+ for my hair and they didn't even offer complimentary bottled water or even a biscuit. I had to pay £2.50 for a cup of tea and £2.50 for some water. This really cheapened the experience and I thought was very naff. A man with a card machine as you receive your water waiting for you to pay at your seat, not even when you leave..very rude.
If the salon is so big you need an external company to cater drinks, then maybe you should be considering that cost in your hair prices and not charge for soft drinks. This is the first hairdressers I've been where I was offered tap water as the only element included. Very cheap place.
Additional to this the blow dry with my cut was pretty poor. No heat protector (considering I just had it bleached), didn't ask how I wanted it and nothing luxury about the experience.

I find going to a hair salon daunting however I love going to Richard Ward. It is exciting, the staff are lovely and professional. Can’t wait for my colour tomorrow.

I'm not one for leaving reviews and when I do my rule is never top marks, but Leon at Richard Ward deserves 5^. I had an amazing experience today with Leon. I have a slight bias, as my friend Pia, is one of the salon's beauty therapists, although I haven't tried her treatments. I booked Leon on her recommendation, I cannot express how great the experience was. I normally hate hair stylists, as for some reason they seems to think that I still live in the 1960's and keeps cutting my hair (fine and normally limp) straight and with an outward flick...not Leon, he managed to give my hair volume and cut it in a style that slim my face. The best thing of all, Leon listen to my normal hair routine and offered guidance to how to improve it rather than in other salon's where unsuitable expensive products are being pushed on you, where I was doing something right he encourage me to carry on and if I was doing something that could be improved, he offered guidance rather than a lecture. The whole experience at Richard Ward was amazing from start to finish, I already look forward to my next appointment.

Great experience, not cheap as based in Chelsea! nearest station is sloane sq, they serve all sorts of refreshments including cocktails from their in house bar. Stylists use Sheumura hair products and ask you for your choice. Chairs you sit on while getting your hair washed have a massage setting. My particular stylist spent a long time styling my hair to my preference, left feeling like a catwalk model.

I adore this hair salon and beauty spa, not only am I treated like royalty the staff from the coat attendant to the CEO couldn’t be more welcoming.. the talents of the staff are superb.. I never fail to feel amazing walking out of the Richard Ward Salon! Looking forward to my pre Christmas colour, cut and blow dry! Xxx

I have been a client at the salon for a few years, and I travel down from Yorkshire regularly to have my hair done. The salon has a unique atmosphere ... I love the warm welcome from all the team and the great colour and cut from David and Tommy. It’s a real treat and the food from the in salon chef is delicious as well. It’s well worth the long journey !!

I had highlights with David and a cut and blow dry with Tommy. I am always completely delighted with my hair when I leave, every time! My highlights are beautifully subtle and the cut is gorgeous- I find it easy to style myself at home, too, and have received so many compliments. Such a relaxing and positive experience, with lovely friendly staff all round. Thank you all!
