Booked an appointment for my younger brother who was a bit nervous (always wants to go to the barbers on his own to appear grown up but finds it a bit intimidating) and they did a great job! They were all very friendly and he was really happy about his new haircut :) It helped to be able to include a reference photo in the online booking process - saved him from having to do too much explaining to to the barber. I think it was Tam that did the haircut - thanks Tam!

I have been here already a few times and I have mostly positive experiences. The team is nice and quite professional. I noticed the quality of your haircut could change depending on who’s doing it. That seems obvious, but at time it could really change drastically. I went through a few of the staff before deciding who I preferred. It used to don’t allow bookings so you had to wait in line your turn. Because of the virus they now allow online bookings, that’s actually a much better system so you won’t have to wait around. It has a quite good price for haircut and wash.

I have been going to Rocket Barber Hackney for a while now, not only is the service top class, banter is top notch and the haircuts from Jack are as sharp as his razor he uses for a beard trim. When I leave the shop I know the haircut is class as the galdem are preeing on me for weeks, with panties being thrown at me from their cars. All in all the service, professionalism and trims are the best - can’t fault the place or Jack!

Amazing atmosphere and great music being played. These guys love to cut hair and know their stuff. Loads of personality at every chair, even saw Pickel Rick on a shelf. The room started singing to ‘Sweet Child of mine’ at one point as well. My barber was meticulous and got every detail. Came out refreshed and happy with my cut. Highly recommended.

Best haircut you will ever get your entire life - take my word for it! Been coming here for just over 2 years now, had most of the barbers from the Hackney Road branch and they all know what they are doing. Great music, wicked interior, lovely people. I have even been there a couple of times when they've offered everyone a nice, cold beer on a sunny Friday afternoon. Luigi is the nuts and a top bloke, Neil gives a superb haircut - still haven't had the pleasure of getting a haircut from Steve yet, so I'm holding on for that.

Went for a beard trim, been growing mine for a couple of years now. Tried to cut it myself but it was a disaster. Went to another barber (big name) who charged me a lot and cut most of the length from my beard. Went in and was greeted by all the barbers and made to feel very welcome. Went in on a Tuesday at 11am and was seen to within 5 minutes of being there. Samuel (Forgive me if I've spelt it wrong) was my barber, he asked me what I wanted and made sure to clarify by asking questions before proceeding. He explained in detail how he would cut and trim my beard. I kept my length but he made it neater and gave it a good shape. I shave my head, so couldn't comment on the haircuts. But from what I saw of the other customers, these guys know how to cut hair, especially the modern hipster styles, pompadours , fade etc Samuel advised me on how to take care of my beard and what I can do to tame and which products which be good for it. The best part? What costs me £30 elsewhere, costs me £8 at Rocket. They've found themselves a new regular. Two thumbs up from me

First time here and i loved it. Waited for 5mins (off peak time) and they spent a good amount of time on my hair. Cut it exactly how i wanted it and paid close attention to detail unlike other cheap barbers i've been to. Staff were very friendly and good background music. Had two haircuts here, by far the best of my life. So much attention to detail and care is given to the service. Great music and cool interior too! Only downside is the cost, at £21 it's the most expensive of my life too. £18 for students. Either way, definitely worth it.

Vinnie and the gang are as friendly as you'd want a barbershop to be. You could go somewhere else and pay less, but you'd get a worse cut. And why would you compromise on your hair and beard?!

I've been visiting rocket for a few years as I usually get a good cut, it's not too expensive and they play really good music and the staff are friendly. However...I'm never going back for two main reasons. I have had 3 consecutively bad experiences due to extremely long waits and poor hair cuts. I don't cut hair but have obviously had hundreds and I don't see why every barber at rocket takes so long. I've waited for nearly an hour and then sat in the chair for nearly the same just for a trim when it's not even very busy. Often the barbers here chat amongst them selves and walk off for ages mid cut. It's extremely frustrating both whilst waiting and when in the chair. Secondly I rarely feel like any of the barbers ever listen to exactly what I would like. Unless I have asked for a very slightly shorter cut I haven't got what I wanted or received any good advice.

i left the shop with one side of my moustache visibly longer than another one... i had to fix it at home by my self. my hair cut was ok... nothing special, i v asked for one hipster style and i wanted to be shaved on the side and under my hand, but i think the hair dresser did not receive the message. maybe i was just unlucky... but it was my first experience, and i wasn t really satisfied.specially about my beard.

Used to be a frequent customer at their branch in Stoke Newington but the prices increased and have now become unaffordable for me as a student so I'm afraid I'm going to have to look for a new barber elsewhere. Its a real shame as I got some of my best haircuts ever at this place and I really admire their service and dedication to their job, but for children and students I think its overpriced and a burden on their parents to pay that much for a cut.

Got into Rockets for 11:30 am on a Saturday. Someone tells me to put my name on the chalkboard. I do, and patiently wait for an hour and a half before my name is called. At this point I’m wondering, what the hell is the commotion about? They’re just barbers. Right? Yanni welcomes me and makes me feel at home. I tell him what’s wrong with my hair and he brainstorms with me on what I want. We agree and off we go. As he’s chopping away, he tells me about his journey from Athens to Brighton to Crawley to London. Enquires about me. Talks about music. And I notice something about the place. The vibe. What a positive chilled out one at that. Every barber at Rockets is talented and confident. So you can have a cut, fade, skid fade with anyone and come out feeling like a brand new car. They are specialists in this art. Go and check them out now. Don’t be put off by the long queues. Get a book and read while you wait. It’s worth the wait. My favourite barbers in London by a mile.
