Had my hair done by Honor a few weeks ago and couldn't recommend her more. The service I experienced in the salon was wonderful, felt comfortable and welcomed the 6 hours I was there. She understood what I wanted and fully exceeded my expectations. The colour was just what I needed and it is absolutely faultless as with the cut. I have very thick and quite coarse hair but Honor knew exactly what to do with it and she took a lot of weight out and I just felt more human. I have rebooked with her to have my graduation hair done and will be rebooking for a refresh whenever necessary. She's a great asset to your team.

Every appointment with Lorna is such an amazing experience because of her enthusiasm to please and her patience which is needed for someone as fussy as me! She's has in depth knowledge of what would suit me and knows my hair which is difficult to handle because it's thick corse and frizzy. But as always she creates lovely glossy hair with such precision and joy because of her expertise as well as having such a lovely character. Nothing is ever too much trouble and she takes her time to explain what she is going to do and why. Never leave Lorna!

I live in London but come back to Melanie Richards in Peterborough to get my hair done as I don't trust any other salon! I am a total nightmare customer, but all the staff are great at putting up with me and I love getting my hair done. Over the years I have had highlights, full head color, everything cut off, fringes, shaved bits and now extensions which I never thought I would have! Now the salon is getting even better with new treatments coming soon and I tried out the LED mask at the weekend! I looked like something out of a horror film, but it made my skin feel great afterwards. I love Melanie Richards as they always have the latest products and trends, they are good fun and it's a great chance to have a good gossip. I would never go anywhere else. Defo try them if you haven't already!

Could not recommend Melanie Richards anymore! My first time getting hair extensions fitted and Mel was so understanding and patient with me, I had so many questions and she was available to answer them all at the end of the phone. I was apprehensive that the extensions would cause damage to my natural hair but they have been perfect throughout, no damage caused at all. If you are thinking about getting extensions fitted for the first time honestly go for it! They will look after you so well! Nothing is too much trouble with Mel and the team. Couldn't go back to pre-extensions life!

I've been going to this salon for a number of years now but only ever for a cut and blow-dry and I'm not one of those clients that goes every 6-weeks it's more like every 12 to 16 🙈 !! Every appointment I've always received fantastic customer service and there's never been any judgement for leaving so long in-between my appointments. I've always use box dye on my hair but after having a home colour disaster I booked in with Rebecca to have it rectified and as always she was absolutely fantastic She went through all my options and the cost so that I could go away and think about what I wanted. After changing my mind a few times, I was finally booked in and excited to have my transformation, and to say I wasn't disappointed would be an understatement. My hair has never looked so good the colour is amazing and the cut is fantastic as always. I honestly can't thank Rebecca enough and would highly recommend her, especially if you are slightly more anxious and nervous like I am. Overall a fantastic appointment and one very happy client 💗

I have had my nails done here for the past 3 times (nails and toes), and couldn't be happier. The first 2 times I had Hannah do them, they lasted 4 weeks both times, no chips or anything, super happy with the service she provided. Went to rebook but unfortunately she was away on holiday so booked in with Signe, and she was amazing too - such care and attention taken to the removal of the gel to ensure my nails stayed in good condition and the finished product was amazing too. This is a lovely and professional salon, the staff are lovely and friendly. My hairdresser Rebecca worked wonders on my hair. I explained everything that I wanted and she achieved it all I was thoroughly happy with her service and that she was able to do exactly what I required. The last place I went to had messed my hair up and done what they wanted and not as I asked and I was very angry and disappointed. It's hard for me to trust hairdressers so I was a little worried going to a new hair salon. Rebecca was excellent though she listened to what I wanted a s advised the best cause of action on my hair as it was quite damaged, she made my hair feel amazing and it looked it too!! I am soo happy rebeccas customer service was very good And I Ieft the salon really happy! I would deffinatly recommend this hair salon to anyone and Rebecca. I've been a client of Melanie Richard's for almost two and a half years, since moving to the Peterborough area. The salon is always clean and I've felt nothing but safe whenever I've visited following lockdown restrictions. Melanie always offers constructive advice on what will or won't work on my hair and it would be fair to say that my look has undertaken a radical change over time, as I've progressed from the grey / brown Lego head that I used to be, to a bright pink choppy cut - and I love it! My most recent visit was last week and it was as good as always. Special mention to Mia, who undertook my patch test 3 days before my colour appointment and who suggested a better, cheaper (and closer!) place for me to park than my usual lengthy dash from the expensive shopping centre. Honestly, it's hints and tips like that which are worth their weight in gold in terms of customer service. The salon also wins extra marks for their commitment to recycling as much "waste" as they can, as well as their ethical approach to products and services. The online booking process is very straightforward, which I like because I don't always have the opportunity to call. Not forgetting the beauty side of things too, I also had my eyebrows waxed and tinted, and my upper lip waxed, by the lovely Signe before my hair appointment. I felt so lovely and refreshed when I left the salon and I'm already looking forward to my next visit in July :-)

Moved to Peterborough last year and haven’t been able to find a suitable hairdresser who can confidently cut thick curly hair, until now. Rebecca was my hairdresser; she listened to what I wanted & cut it perfectly. The cost of the cut was also very fair & not overpriced. I expected it to be priced higher but glad it came in around the same cost as my previous hairdresser. I will be coming here again. Thank you.

Best hairdresser in the county, I've been coming to Mel for over 15 years and will never go anywhere else. The whole business is super clean and safe, where your needs as vulnerable are all met. On top of that I'd say they're the best colour experts for hundreds of miles. And if that's not enough all their products are vegan, natural, sustainable. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I just love this Salon. Have had my hair done my Melanie Richards since they opened in 2011. From cut to restyle to colour. In Nov 2019 they opened up the second floor and now offer a wonderful range of beauty therapies. Using only the best beauty products on the market. All therapists are highly trained in the products and the service is exceptional. I have also had my nails done and a bit of Botox and filler. If you have never tried it, go for it... makes you feel good, your skin loves it and so does your hair!!

I have to stay in the UK for extended periods of time and recently bought a property in Peterborough. I had tried literally most of the known salons in town and found them to range from utterly average to terrible. Having resigned to the fact that I would need to get all my haircuts and grooming done in London while in the UK, I noticed a sign board for Melanie Richards Hair while strolling around the Rivergate area. I thought why not. So I booked an appointment for a haircut. I requested an appointment with Richard the Salon owner to be ultra safe, Wow was I surprised. Richard is an absolutely amazing stylist. He has the unique and rare combination of naturally gifted talent combined with years of experience. The cut I got from Richard was absolutely at the same level as any top Manhattan stylist. Absolutely world class standard. Additionally Richard is a perfectionist and notices even the single tuft of hair in the wrong place. He is very down to earth, attentively listens to the client and is very focused during the cut. He has since become my only stylist. I even skip a cut in Manhattan because I would rather get it from Richard. The entire salon team is warm, genuinely friendly and courteous and I felt obligated to write this review because I feel more people need to know about this amazing salon. They also offer an extensive range of Beauty and Aesthetic Services which also meet the highest world class standards and therefore this Salon should be your one stop for all your grooming and aesthetic needs.

I was originally planning on going to another hairdressers but they didn’t do the restyle without washing my hair, but this place did! Excellent service and the atmosphere made me feel refreshed, yet calm. My hair looks so much better now with all the weight taken out and the split ends gone. 100% recommend this place!

I had my first ever visit to Melanie Richards Hair and Beauty Salon..I choose this salon as per the reviews in the facebook. Lorna was absolutely amazing. She did intensive conditioning treatment ( Olaplex)on my hair and treated them so beautifully that I don’t have words to express ... Moreover , she gave me advice on how to make my hair healthy and more beautiful and made me feel so comfortable..She also provided me with refreshments which was really a very sweet gesture ..... then I also had Elemis Couture Biotec facial therapy which was done by Signe. She just did the whole process wonderfully and explained me about each and every step and cleared all my doubts .. It was really refreshing and rejuvenated my skin .... I felt so happy being there and I couldn’t resist myself from recommending about Melanie Richards Hair and Beauty Salon.. All the staff there are so friendly .... And i would like to thank liannre ( receptionists) who helped me a lot and guided me to the therapist .... I left that place with a big smile and will surely go back again ....

Just had the most amazing experience! First I had my hair coloured with a red moon shape of the left with a dark red top and purple through the rest. This resulted in a splash of red on the left of my hair and beautiful, deep shiny purple overall. Mel cut my hair using a scissor technique which allowed me to keep the length of my hair but took out some weight and dry ends. It was then dried and straightened to a sleek, glossy finish worthy of any hair advert.My hair felt as soft as silk when I ran my fingers through it afterwards. I would thoroughly recommend this salon. All the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the salon has a modern, warm feel. Definitely a place to feel at home in.

Been hereabouts of times for bright coloured hair extensions. They are great and not too expensive. They lasted longer than expected and some are still going strong. Had a really good haircut too. Came out feeling much better

lovely and friendly staff,, appeared to be professional also. BUT for one reason I decided to not go back again, and that´s because I showed a photo to the hairdresser and asked him to do the same haircut like the one in the photo for me... but every 3-4 minutes he asked me whether I want to have shorter or longer here and there. I understand that people these days complain about everything and you want to make sure you what you are doing is what the customer wants so they don´t come back and moan later ,,, but honestly I know nothing about hair cut and felt I´m giving "wrong answers" every time and the final result is not getting more and more away from what I wanted in the first place. 5 stars for being very good, minus one star for asking too many questions = 4 stars ... and wish you luck :)
