Been getting my haircut for over a year by Amy. She does the best skin fade around and always has a good ideas on how to style your hair if you need some ideas. Highly recommended

Best run Barbershop in Plymouth. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. I always get my hair cut and beard trimmed by Eve. She takes her time to make sure the cut is right.

Usually good but my last cut was by a guy with dark back and sides and a blonde top. I asked him for a short back and sides which was apparently not interesting enough for him as he then proceeded to cut my hair while looking everywhere possible that wasn't my head; the windows, the walls, the ceiling, the bit upstairs where they do women's hair. I reckon he spent about 5% of the time actually looking at my hair. Didn't mind charging me full price for the cut even though it wasn't worth his full attention.

I first went here after a bad hair cut just down the road spoke to one of the "barbers" who was very helpful and seen to me straight away and sorted my hair out. Since then I've been going there regularly for almost a year. It is a busy barbers but you are always made welcome and seen to ASAP also you get a free drink. I'm very fussy about my hair and the barbers/stylist are the mutts nuts ! 😊. Well recommend this place

Yeah seems to have been ok so far. They also do this loyalty card scheme wher as every time you get a haircut get a stamp then your sixth ones free . At the moment you can also have their trainee cut your hair for half price . Men and womens upstairs .

I am a regular customer at city gents and have my hair cut by a lovely lady every time i visit. She is called amy1 on my loyalty card. I enjoy coming back every time and always leave with a smile. She knows exactly how i like my hair. HOWEVER... when i visited a few weeks back i discovered that my usual hairdresser was on holiday and was seen to by another member of staff. I think she was also called amy, very tall with dark hair. she seemed lovely at first and offered me a drink which was nice but after i sat down and got comfy i felt slightly uncomfortable as she was a bit abrupt and quite rude. She talked pretty loudly and didn't seem too interested in me or my haircut but just wanted to chat about her life. She cut my hair in the whole of 10 minutes and it seemed she was rushing to get back downstairs as it was getting busy. I thought this was a bit unprofessional. When i got home i noticed the left side of my hair was longer than the other and very obvious. When i came back to complain i felt humiliated for her to turn around and tell me i was wrong. what ever happened to 'the customer is always right'. If it weren't for the incredibly good service of my regular hairdresser amy 1 i would not be returning to this salon. Please don't let this review put you off the salon as it is a nice friendly professional place but i would avoid that girl and stick to amy 1.

My partner and little boy go to city gents. By little boy is so nervous but eve is so patient and kind and we are slowly working on a way for it to be more enjoyable and less daunting for him. She's so helpful and goes out of her way to make it less scary for him. Couldn't reccomend her enough
