This place stands out brilliantly in the area it is, with multiple other barber shops which dim in light. It is highly enjoyable to receive their services, with staff always smiling from one ear to another, giving you a cup of coffee in chilly autumn evening. And even more, their social skills and room reading is highly commendable, knowing when the customer is in chatting mood, and when they just want to enjoy the silence and peacefulness having their hair getting back into good shape. I’ve been going to James now, the last couple months and I can honestly say it was the best decision I have made. I’ve always struggled to find a hairdresser that can cut my hair the right way because of how awkward it is. And I can honestly say I’m so happy to have found such a good barber. I rarely give 5-stars, but this place has exceeded my expectations ever since I chose to go there. For starters, you get a relaxing hair wash before you have your cut. Now for those blokey blokes out there, don't be afraid of it; they only do it to make sure they get the best cut possible. Even I was surprised at first, but have grown to appreciate it. Definitely a surprising plus. When I first visited this place, I did had very long hair. For those with long hair, they do have dedicated people for such and they do a bang up job. This place is definitely somewhere to visit for your long locks if you're concerned about your local barber's skills. When I decided to go back to skin fades, this same place still did an amazing job. I have yet to have a bad hair cut yet. But there's more! Bloody brilliant with beards too - especially the more stylised beards! Everyone here has been really lovely. I honestly cannot fault this place. They are one of the best barbers in Southampton for the price. You definitely get your money's worth.

Good range of beverages and ample seating facilities both in and out the shop if you have to wait. Can normally get a parking spot outside. I’m a regular at Cresswell, I have my undercut shaved by Bethan every month and she has always produced such incredible work with my hair! Bethan is amazing at making me feel so comfortable in the chair, and is extremely understanding about my poor anxiety and mental health which makes my experience having my hair cut even better! The team at Cresswell are so polite and caring to each of their customers, I have never had a bad appointment at the shop! I used to find going to the barbers a bit chaotic, they would be unorganised and I’d be nervous that they weren’t going to give me the cut that I want. She’s not just your average barber, she’s passionate about what she does and her talent is reflected in her work. Fantastic service, friendly staff and affordable costs. The wait time can be quite long at times but that's only ever due to the staff not rushing anyone out the store with a quick cut, plus you can just as easily book a slot in advance to avoid a long wait. Each of the hairdressers working here will cut to a high standard. Which is a huge plus, there's nothing worse than dreading being next because you'll get the one who messes your hair up - That's simply not an issue here. They also offer a loyalty card, that can earn you discount on a haircut after a handful of visits!

Nat is an artist, so has an eye for what looks good, as well as being a total perfectionist. Each cut gets given the time and attention needed to get it just right for the customer. She also has a natural and amenable way with her customers so they feel welcome and comfortable. She’s extremely professional as well as being flexible and relaxed. The team around her are carefully selected and are also all absolutely top draw. I used have to go into Southampton to get my older two boys their hair cut as they have Afro Caribbean hair and I found it difficult to get a decent cut in shirley . Not any more as Natalie as proven to me that she can do just as good a job as the Afro Caribbean barber . Plus I find Natalie does better cut than the barber I used to use . Their Nothing Natalie and her team won’t do for me and my boys appointment wise she always manages to fit us inn . Plus the barber shop is just across the road form where we live . Natalie is simply the best Barber around, and when I’m sat in the chair all I can see is quality cuts and a wonderful atmosphere around me, all staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, a real sense of team effort amongst them.

Free drinks on offer handy if there is a short wait but I have no problem waiting because they take there time and make the effort to ask throughout the cut if everything is just as you wanted and everything is double checked for a perfect cut .!!
