Began my last cut laughing that people travel from Cornwall to visit Dave and telling him as much as I love him I wouldn’t! By the end of my hair cut was reminded that I definitely would! I was enormously impressed when I first visited Dave that he had bothered to think about what style would suit me, had even got images for me to look at and discuss prior to my cut. He found something that suited my lifestyle, personality and the new look I wanted. Perhaps the best compliment to the quality of colour and cut is that I was well, well into lockdown before my hair went truly beyond redemption! The quality of the cut is excellent keeps its shape and colour remains true. So many people compliment me on my hair and it truly has nothing at all to do with me!!!!

My hair and styles have changed over the years and I completely trust Dave's advice on cut and colour knowing his experience and ability and his regular update in the hairdressing world, and his use of high quality products. I have been having my hair cut by Dave Benbow for over fifteen years and I have always looked forward to the experience and the haircut. I am not always sure exactly what I want, so love it that Dave is great at suggesting styles and colours and adapting fashions so they suit my look and personality. The salon is modern but relaxed and his staff friendly and polite. He always uses very high quality products so that even when I am having an extreme colour change my hair stays healthy and strong. I travel from Birmingham and his salon is easy to get to on the train, just a short walk from Shrub Hill. I sent my boyfriend along and was frankly surprised what a difference it made even with a man with short hair. With a Dave cut you know that you will leave the salon looking marvellous but also when you wash and style it yourself it is so well cut that you can achieve the same results yourself. I really cannot recommend Dave and his salon enough.

I was quite happy with my experience at my appointment. Emma was pleasant and the cut and blow dry was good. However, my experience a few weeks later while making appointment for my niece was a different story. I spoke to Dave on the phone and found his manner abrupt and his tone sarcastic. He was extremely unhelpful - not a good way to encourage new customers. I will not be returning.
