D. W.I needed a haircut for a little while now and decided to have a look at hair salons in York. After some research, I found Dannie Lea’s and decided to give it a go.
I had an appointment with Curtis and I am over the moon with the result! He was very knowledgeable during our initial discussion about tackling my hair goals and worries and did an incredible job turning my long, broken hair into a classy and elegant shoulder-length bob (with lovely feathered front to cover some annoying baby hairs). The conversation during the appointment was also super easy and he was so incredibly lovely throughout. He also gave me lots of tips for at-home styling and hair care!
I could not recommend Curtis enough and will definitely be coming back when I need to give my hair some TLC next!

I was left severely disappointed by an experience I had at another hair salon in York, the colour had turned a dull dark Gray instead of a silvery ash blonde, I felt pretty ripped off as we’d discussed the colour in the consultation and there was no mention of it possibly turning out this way and furthermore no communication on how to look after and maintain the colour.
The next day on Sunday morning I was desperately hoping on the off chance of find a hair salon that was open and could help me sort something with the colour. Luckily I saw danni Lea salon open and from the second I stepped in I felt listened to and understood, Im sorry I didn’t catch his name at the time but I’m quite sure it was Dan, he understood exactly what the problem was with the colour and without much else to go on about what products were used on my hair at the previous salon he impressively sussed out exactly what to do to break up the Gray colour and give me more of the lighter blonder tone I was wanting, he was extremely knowledgeable and clearly knew his stuff which made me feel at ease and thankful that he was explaining to me what went wrong the colour and why. Not only did he create the look I originally wanted at the other salon but for him to fit me in so last minute and on a Sunday! It was a god send of an experience it really was. I felt they actually cared about getting my hair sorted and wanted me to be happy with the result which was refreshing when a lot of other hair salons I’ve been to seem to just book you in and get your colour mixed up within 2 mins with little discussion and then it never quite turns out how you’d hoped.
I’m so grateful to have discovered danni Lea’s salon, they are professional, so friendly, so down to earth and make you feel listened to and valued. I couldn’t be happier with my colour now thanks to Dan. I also bought some lovely hair products to help maintain the colour and will definitely be coming back for regular touch ups, already looking forward to my next appointment
