I had such a nice experience here a couple of days ago. I went in for a wax by Holly, and it was actually about as pain-free as I could expect a wax to be! I didn't feel rushed, but was seen to quickly, and everyone there was friendly and happy to help. Results were top-notch. I'd definitely come back.

Everyone was so friendly which is a must for me because body waxing isn't the most pleasant experience, so you want to be surrounded by nice people. Very important detail: bikini wax and didn't feel a single thing, nothing. I am usually incredibly sore afterwards and while I'm getting it done I suffer a lot, they managed to do it without me even realising it. make it 10 starts honestly

If I don't see her all the others are great too, very quick and professional. The quality of the products and the service is reflected in the price. Obviously I would want this cheaper but I'm willing to pay for what I receive

WONDERFUL SERVICE. I love getting my nails done here (been a repeat customer for a long time now), the staff are *always* friendly, welcoming and professional. Every time, I'm delighted at the quality of work that's done, which I feel is of the highest standard. Very highly recommended!

Suzanne always does a perfect job of tinting and waxing my lashes and eyebrows. The price is definitely reflected in the outcome. While there are cheaper places in Edinburgh, you get what you pay for. Wax bar is definitely worth the price. Also do student discounts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 25% off!

Just had my first wax done, what an amazing experience. It was nothing like I thought is going to be, The wax they used was great and the procedure was not painful, staff were very professional , definitely going back and highly recommend this place .

Clean fresh with lovely decor,I had my brows did here and can't fault at all! Quiet serene place with plenty choice of beauty etc plus the girl was really gentle. Would defo come again and highly recommend.

It is pricey but it is the fastest and least painful intimates waxing I have ever had, therefore it is defiantly worth it! Incredibly friendly and professional staff and their waxing technique is as comfortable and non-invasive as they can make it. 100% would recommend.

A great salon - comfy, clean and plush, it feels like a treat when you go. The staff are all very good so you really can’t go wrong with anyone there.

Fantastic - my first time getting a Hollywood wax and it went 100 times better than I was expecting. Girls are all lovely and welcoming (I had Siobhan), and very efficient with their waxing so not nearly as painful as it could have been otherwise. Definitely returning.

Friendly, welcoming and quality service. Cash only in the salon. I'd like to thank the staff (Rachael and the lovely receptionist) for not only the quality of service but for being so patient and kind when I only had a credit card to pay. I just moved here from Canada and was mortified to have to try and get my boyfriend to bring me cash because I did not yet have a Scottish bank account. They were accommodating and reassuring as I apologized profusely (stereotypical Canadian). Rachael sorted it all out for me and as a result I will definitely be coming back (cash in hand).

Made me feel at ease, a wee bit more expensive but i see why, don't bother with the groupon deals etc..they are on Groupon for a reason. The best and most professional waxing experience i have ever had (my therapist didn't talk cringey nonsense). I will return to The Wax Bar, absolute specialists, they know what they are doing girls! Annnnddddd.. they have a few locations in Edinburgh so easy to book!

I've been trying to find a good nail bar in Edinburgh since I moved here and finally have one. I had my shellac manicure done by Rachel and she was really nice and the manicure was perfect - lasted a good 3 weeks without chipping or peeling. There's a good choice of colours too. I went to their Fountain Bridge branch when it opened a couple of years ago now and found the manicure there not as good. It chipped quickly and wasn't as well applied. They offered you prosecco whilst you had your nails done (which is always a bonus), but it wasn't chilled and came in thick IKEA glasses that still had the prices on them. Not really what you're looking for when you're going for a touch of luxury - and at nearly £40 a pop it wasn't worth it there. The Rose St Branch is great though, and would thoroughly recommend.

I always get my waxes here, normally with Suzanne—who is lovely to chat to and helps you forget the pain that comes with waxing. If I don't have Suzanne, I've had pleasant experiences with the other therapists. They use a hot wax that feels nice on your skin, smells good, and is less painful than strip wax. I would definitely choose Wax Bar over other salons in the area.
