I have become quick a regular to Firetrail in Aboyne. This is a great bike shop with helpful and friendly staff and a great community vibe to it. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the items they keep in stock are the best out there with no compromises. I enjoyed the shop so much I went bough my new bike from Firetrail. A big thanks to Richard for his patience and expertise in helping me customise it, Alex for her amazing help and communication and a big big thanks to Anna for building the best bike i have ever have the luck to ride. The parts or one thing but the talent to bring them all together is another. Thanks all

I was there for the Velotech Bronze course. The setup was very good, the instructor knowledgeable and atmosphere conducive towards learning. The shop was well stocked and has just about everything you might need for mountain or gravel biking. All the Firetrail team were friendly and the place has a relaxed social scene as well with folk popping in for a chat.

Stumbled across this place by accident and cannot believe how lucky I was. The staff were excellent: knowledgeable, friendly and keen to get me the right bike, which refreshingly wasn’t the most expensive. A great eclectic range of suppliers from across Europe, so not your usual high street repetition. Simply a top bike shop!

I do a good portion of my bike maintenance myself, but for bigger jobs have used a few shops around Aberdeen with mixed results. Put my mountain bike in with ABW and have been totally chuffed with them. It went in for a bearing change, but ended up needing a fair few other things done, which they picked up on and ran me through to see if I wanted to proceed with other things or leave etc. Super friendly, great customer service and happy to take the time to discuss the work done, which is something I really appreciate (have picked up my bike from shops who can't remember what they've done before, never mind the finer details...). Will be using ABW for all my bike servicing requirements going forward; very impressed with their attention to detail and friendly, helpful attitude. Worth paying them a visit just to see the shop dog!

I’ve known Alex and Richard at Firetrail since they started the business. I’ve purchased all sorts of practical and high performing bikepacking gear from them. I ordered my Surly Karate Monkey through Firetrail and they worked closely with me to design what I believe is the ultimate Cairngorm gravel/bikepacking rig. Richard’s counsel on set up, product/component selection and maintenance advice has been first class. Richard is also a perfectionist as a ‘bike engineer’, which means the Firetrail workshop is a premium service. The difference is simple: Richard, Alex and the wider Firetrail team have used all of the products they sell in the demanding environment of the Cairngorms.
