Truly an amazing independent bike shop. Great staff and cool selection of bikes (both new and used). They were able to deal with a difficult repair on my bike that other stores refused to do. Plus, they were super quick with everything.

This place is great! I wanted a gravel bike and they did not have one in shop so they needed to ship it from the warehouse. As I was abroad I only had 4 days but it was not a problem as he got it in 2. He said if he gets it and I won’t buy it there will be no charge. He delivered it to my shipping company and boxed it up. The bike is very cheap but very high quality no upgrades needed not a scratch!

I came to this shop after riding LEJOG to get some repairs done before heading off for a 1550km ride in Scandinavia. Very knowledgeable mechanics here. I told them what I wanted to have looked at, they took their time and performed the repairs I needed - and then explained to me why some of the ones I'd asked for were unnecessary. The prices here were much less than I was expecting. Very good mechanics, fast turnaround and extremely fair pricing.

Fantastic service. We are two touring cyclists from USA using panniers to carry out gear. Six weeks into a 9 week tour a broken 9 speed front derailleur for a triple crankset stopped us until we reached Soul Cycles. They had a derailleur and replaced it while we ate lunch so we could continue our tour of Scotland! Friendly, helpful, and kind and very fair prices.

Probably the best shop in Edinburgh let alone bike shop. Second hand bike (off gumtree) has been acting dodgy and everything has been sorted and explained at an insanely reasonable price, and they also have a scheme to help some people who struggle with bike maintenance costs. Everyone working there is lovely; go there if you ever have a bike issue because it'll be sorted quickly and you'll walk out happy. Thank you so so much:)

A great local bike shop and I cannot fault them with any of the servicing or repairs they have carried out on my mountain bike and gravel/touring bike. Every time I have used them the staff have always given me great advice and made me aware of the repair costs before they started. Highly recommended. November 2022 - another big shout out of thanks to Darragh and Dave at Soul Cycles. They carried out a conversion of my old Voodoo Bantu mountain bike to a very nice gravel bike. Not only did I get an itemised and costed quote, they provided certain second hand fittings that helped keep the price down. As well as being outstanding bike mechanics, the guys in the shop listen to you and make recommendations based on your budget. That is why I use them to service my Cannondale mountain bike and my Specialized commuter/touring bike. I could not recommend them enough - Many thanks

Went to Soul Cycles for a new bike for my daughter who is 10. The expert advice from staff at this shop could not have been better and they are very good at working with children. The staff are extremely attentive and nothing seems too much of a problem for them. They delivered our new bike once it was ready and asked us to go back from a free check up after one month. Highly recommended for families and others!

During lockdown when shops could open a little I took my rusty old bike to them on they off chance of could be fixed. I am delighted with what they did, I was thinking do I need a new one but they pretty much gave me that for a fraction of the price of a new one. Friendly and professional staff. Been using Soul Cycles for a couple of years now on the recommendation of a friend. I’ve since recommended a few folks in their direction and all been happy with the service. I ride MTB, Gravel, Road, Track and the occasional triathlon so I’ve normally got an idea of the sort of thing I’m after. However, the guys in here are true bike geeks and I can get lost for half an hour talking about different tyres, pressures, compounds and use cases to make sure I get exactly the right thing for my needs. In addition to any of the work they’ve done on my bikes I’ve also bought parts through them (again after chatting on what the options are) and all recommendations have been on the money, including two sets of HUNT wheels which were a noticeable improvement. Rather than going to an online store I’ll pop in here if I need something and be safe in the knowledge I’ve bought the right thing. I’d normally do my own work but if I don’t have time (or just don’t want to) I’m more than happy to hand over my bikes to get a bit of TLC at Soul Cycles.

Very helpful and friendly service. We were on our way into town and got a puncture in one of the pram tyres. After a few unsuccessful phone calls to other near by places we popped into Soul Cycles and met Dave. Who despite being in the middle of prepping a bike for that afternoon fitted us a new tube and repaired the puncture to get us into the Xmas markets. Just don’t get that kind of helpful and friendly service anymore. Will definitely make the trip there again for our next bikes and any repairs.

Amazing experience, and lovely staff! I came in this morning looking to get a fixed gear fitted to my single speed flip-flop hub. Not only did Soul Cycles have the part in stock, they fitted it for me at very short-notice. An awesome shop, with an awesome cause filled with awesome bikes. Also sold two bikes to them separately from the above and was extremely happy with their service. I would strongly recommend them to anyone!

Dave is absolutely amazing and took time out of his busy day to help a mum with a flat tyre on her buggy. Not only did he fix it he gave me some very helpful advice on psi (30 - if I have to look this up later). He wore his mask the whole time and was very polite. I prefer Glentress, but he advised some good areas in East Lothian to bike. Stand up guy. I can't vouch for anyone else as I struggled with door with buggy and other guy was with a customer. I can't speak highly enough of these guys. They know their bikes - mine never runs better than it does after they've worked on it. They obviously love what they do, and it shows. And - apart from the bikes - they're great guys who go out of their way to get you the best deal on repairs and replacements. Went in for a repair, they offered a solution within my budget, replacing my shifter with a good second hand part that was priced right and the job was done quickly. These guys are brilliant mechanics who go out of their way to help you as well as they can for as cheap as they can. They have some brilliant bikes for fantastic prices and their servicing is considerably cheaper than Evans. Really fantastic shop and brilliant lads!

Excellent guys! Came in at 5pm on a Sunday (they close at 6pm) and they changed my cassette and chain there and then whilst I waited! Kind enough to let me watch and explain a few bits and bobs to me. I can highly recommend. £45 for a new 6 speed cassette and chain fitted is excellent value.

Fantastic service, I was let down by a shoddy servicing in Yorkshire and didn't trust the setup for my bike packing trip. Soul Cycles sorted out the gear indexing and fixed a few elements the initial service missed. If I was local I would certainly be using Soul Cycles from now on.
