Reviews of Bike for Good Glasgow South

Yet another great experience. They managed to quickly help with a damaged bike I received from an online retailer. They even did some extra work with no charge they fealt was necessary.

We recently helped serve the most amazing food to the neighborhood as part of the moving day celebrations!
It’s also a celebration for the upcoming partnership between Bike for good and KaleYard, a non profit that is aiming to bring affordable and healthy food (that tastes great!!) to Glasgow that will be opening here this summer.
So happy to have been part of this magical day.

Had a great experience at the ‘fix your own bike’ session I booked online. I was made to feel really comfortable by the bike Mechanic-instructor and actually found it a really enjoyable experience and relaxed environment. There was even some nice music playing while we worked to put you in a nice frame of mind. Would highly recommend these sessions or using B4G for repairs more generally.

Friendly, helpful staff and a great place to get low cost, low impact bike repairs using second hand parts. Proud that this place exists in Glasgow and always happy to give them business.

I had a flat front tire which I need to be pumped up as I couldn’t get home because it. The the man who took my bike in pumped it up and didn’t charge me even when I offered to pay him. He definitely save me today.

I love this place, cheapest prices. Loveliest staff and always welcoming. If you want to learn more about your bike or how to fix it, this is the place for you. If I'm honest, if you have any bike problems I'd always go here.

I've popped in a few times for puncture repairs. The guys have always been happy to help me out on the spot without needing an appointment. A really friendly and welcoming place to go for all your bike needs and is cheap! They're also just around the corner from my home so it's really convenient. I am looking to purchase a second bike and will be in to speak to these guys about this ☺,

Bike for good Staff have been great. We run a community group and they have gave us great advice on bikes gave us a chance to try them out on bike sessions and have sourced new bikes and equipment for us at a competitive price. We have had cycle lead sessions with their friendly and experienced staff providing support to build confidence encouraging people to cycle more often and safely. There Dr bike sessions that have made essential repairs to bikes and happy community members.

I love Bikes for Good! They've serviced my bike and made minor repairs for me several times since they opened in the Southside and I've always been really impressed with their skilled and professional service. We've also really enjoyed taking part in a number of community events they've had. And even better - it's a social enterprise so any money I spend there helps with their work in supporting more people to get cycling. I'll definitly be back 😊

Stopped by for a new front brake disc for our cargo bike while travelling through the UK. For a small service fee of 10 pounds, they did not only install the new disc, but also replaced the brake pads, discovered and tightened a loose wheel hub and readjusted the claw mounting. And all this on the spot, without prior appointment.
very professional, thanks guys!

My first visit, looks like a great place! Friendly and knowledgeable staff :) Just wish it was easier to find from Victoria Road, I was panicking that I'm late for my bike service appointment! The address should be Langside Lane and not Victoria Road, it is in the first lane to the right when facing Anarkali.

Thanks Bike for Good. Fixed my flat tire in 20mins. Good gear on display, will be popping in when I’m looking to upgrade in the future!

I can really recommend this place. It is a charity. You can get help with your bike, by pre-used bikes and also new ones. You can even learn there, how to repair your bike and how to bike around Glasgow - including the cycle paths.

Great people, great service! Have got me back on the road a good few times, always with a warm welcome, a quick turnaround and transparent fair pricing. BFG also put on film screenings and other community events plus they help those who otherwise might not be able to get cycling - amazing! Probably worthy of a sixth star.

Turned up to get a quote on a rear break repair on my stunt BMX. Was told it would be 90 quid all in due to the complexities of the stunt brakes. Still, all I needed to get my bike back on the road was the stem tightened and the wheels pumped, which they did for free. 10 minutes later I was tearing up and down Queens Park, thanks to these guys. Never did make it into the shop. Free assessment/advice and all very relaxed and friendly. Only bike place you'll need if you're a local.

Got a last minute slot day before to get a bike safety check the next day. Bike hadn't been used in 10 years so I knew it probably needed a couple of things done. The person who looked at it gave an honest viewpoint of what was required and price. Decided to have a think over it but will probably end up donating the bike to these guys. Recommended.

I took my beloved bike to the old Bike For Good on Victoria Road, to see if someone could show me which tool I would need to remove my bottom bracket. I was encouraged to leave the bike until a mechanic could have a look the next day. I returned a few days later, hopefully, to find that not only had the bottom bracket been taken out, but that the bracket shell itself had been sawn through in the process, all without my prior knowledge or consent. The lad I spoke to seemed surprised at how very soft a metal the shell was made from (not steel). I didn’t receive the original bottom bracket back, even in bits, which would have allowed me to replace it with a similar one on the correct thread etc, and was assured that because it was such a big job (no doubt it was), that the labour charge would be £50. The shell was also re-threaded in the process, (I am still not sure to what), and narrowed, so that I have no idea even where to start fixing it. I am sure I could figure it all out myself, over time, with the carefulness and consideration of an amateur, but the problem is really that the whole ordeal has affected me in such a way that the frame itself has sat around the house now for 3 years, and I have literally not turned a pedal since. Depressing. Is there anything you can do to kick start the process of getting me back on the road before the end of summer? Could you test fit a bottom bracket for me so I definitively know what I need? I actually love this bike, and desperately want to start cycling again. Thank you.

I've had my bike serviced, I've had cycling lessons and I've taken part in a workshop to learn how to fix a puncture. Staff are always so helpful and friendly, can't fault the service. This is such a great facility for the local area and beyond, I'm really grateful for it. Thank you!

The staff and the manager in particular went above and beyond to sort my bike's tricky issue. Cannot thank them enough - other retailers would have charged an arm and a leg for the same services.

Mechanics are fantastic very honest with regards to the repair costs and they are resonably priced. The community events BFG host such are movie nights are a fun way to interact with fellow cyclists and make new friends.
