Picked up a new Pinnacle Arkose X this weekend on the bike to work scheme, and could not be happier with the bike and service from Evans! Not being the most knowledgeable about bikes, it was fantastic to walk in and have the very friendly staff, advise me on what was needed, and best options for accessories etc. It's clear the guys that work there are all passionate about cycling, and genuinely want me to enjoy my bike. I went in to get some replacement disc brake caliper bolts as i'd gone down to a smaller disc size. 5 stars and a big thank you to Jacob at Evans Cycles in Martlesham. I have an old Raleigh bike with what is now a non-standard tyre size. He looked through the stock and did not have exactly what was needed. But rather than send me away, he said why don't I look for the puncture and repair the tube you have. He went ahead while I waited and insisted on only charging the price of the patches. I also had a problem with a loose mudguard and he found me an old bracket in his pile of spares - no charge. This is the kind of customer focus and basic human touch that is all too rare these days. I will definitely be calling back.

Popped into Evans Cycles (Martlesham) on Saturday as had bought a new MTB tyre and couldn't manage to get it onto the rim. It was way off fitting - I was bending my tyre levers in two and getting nowhere! Matt and Ewan were great - not only did they manage to get the tyre on, they also fixed it when it refused to seat correctly. On top of this they provided some great advise regarding going tubeless which will be my next step. Thanks Matt and Ewan for all your help - excellent service :-)

Mark and Olly were absolute life savers today and helped fixed my bike after it broke on a ride today and had no way of getting home without the repair. They did this as a walk in and just before they were due to close. I could see they were busy working on other things but they were so helpful and professional. My wife took our eldest daughter's bike to Evans in Martlesham, Suffolk to repair her front brake. The service she received was genuinely superb. In addition to repairing the brake cable, the staff member called John also made a few other adjustments to the bike at no charge and was happy to offer sound advice too. Bought a Trek mountain bike a couple of months ago for my son from Evans - he broke the mech hanger on it (how remains a mystery) and I fitted a new one inexpertly (rear wheel kept falling off!) Dropped in on Sunday for a small item to repair seat. Before I could buy, the staff and workshop insisted on looking at old part first to see if they could make a quick repair. 5 minutes later old piece returned o me repaired, with no cost. Excellent customer service and thanks to Mark, I believe, who was the engineer repairing. Fantastic Silver Service to my son's Giant mountain bike at the Martlesham workshop. We had a slight rubbing of the chain in some gears after so we returned the bike, but they were more than happy to correct the problem there and then. Stef noticed another unrelated problem with the bike which he fixed whilst we waited, at no extra charge. Very polite, obliging and happy to help. The bike now runs like a dream and we are very grateful and would definitely return in the future. Highly recommend.

The customer service I received here was amazing. After ordering a bike online and then having my online account deleted when Evans switched their software, I was feeling very angry and doubtful I'd ever see my bike. I went into the Ipswich store and was met with equally frustrated staff. Andy, John and the team went above and beyond to track my bike down (even though I hadn't ordered through them) and eventually found an identical bike in Norwich. Andy personally drove to Norwich to collect it meaning I could get my bike the next day. It was amazing service and truly appreciated, it's just a shame they are backed up by such a poor company. A week later and 2 weeks after ordering, my actual bike is still lost in the system and un-delivered. Avoid Evans online and stick to the store!!! Thanks guys!

Excellent service. I was never fitted properly when I bought my bike from an Evans Cycle store in London. I saw John in this branch and he spent 45 minutes with me setting up my bike to ensure I can get the most comfortable ride from it. Excellent service. The staff have been very helpful, I was looking to buy their Pinicle 1 road bike. So I talk to the sales guy and he told me all about the bike. I was given a 1 hour test ride, though i didn't need that long. I felt I may of needed a larger frame than the one I test rode so they made one up for me to try. I love the bike so I bought 1. I had to take the bike back after a couple of days as the gears needed a little adjustment. They sorted it out there and then. Very happy the the store and staff.

My 14 year old son had some issues with his BMX bike (bought elsewhere) and went to the Martlesham store today for some advice. The staff were outstanding! They inspected his bike, made some adjustments, gave him some good tips and rectified the faults. All this was done without prior notice, without an appointment, and at no cost. Special thanks goes to John who went over and above ensure the saddle was installed perfectly. I can very much recommend the £45.00 bike fitting which I had done and has helped massively. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I brought my bike in at 9:30 am for a booked service but hadn't read my confirmation email carefully and didn't realise the shop didn't open until 10. Thankfully they cheerfully let me in. On my previous visit I was helped in choosing a helmet light which they then happily mounted for me. Not a big purchase, but I wasn't rushed with it.

Whilst out for my first ride on my new bike I noticed that the brakes felt a bit ‘spongy’ so called in at Evans Cycles Martlesham I explained that my issue and that I hadn’t purchased the bike from (not a brand that they stock) but the boys in the workshop quickly re-bled the brakes and got rid of the air bubble causing the issue in two minutes while I waited. Consistently good service and advice no matter how much you spend. I bought my first pair of cycling shoes, cleats and pedals and the guys fitted them to the bike there and then which was great, they also made sure the handlebars and seat were all set correctly for me too. I have visited half a dozen times since to pick up bits and I've been impressed everytime. As a bonus the website is excellent and the click and collect next day service is superb too. The quality and value of the own range accessories is great whilst they also supply the higher end gear if that's what you need, easily 5 stars

Andy and the rest of the guys were a massive help in deciding my new road bike. Understanding my needs for triathlon and normal road racing they came up with two options and offered a great deal for both. They also offered a road test option which was invaluable in deciding the best bike. I thoroughly recommend this if anyone is looking at spending a large amount of money on their next bike. Had the pleasure of John at evans cycles Ipswich fit me to my new road bike last week . I can honestly say my views on comfort on a road bike have been forever changed. I have now covered numerous miles in the saddle and have never been so comfy, no more neck ache and even sorted a pain I’ve had for years in my left knee with a simple cleat adjustment! Superb Bike Fit I recently went to see John for a bike fit and it was perfect. My setup was basically straight out the shop and had been causing me a few injury problems but I didn't want to shell out £150 for a bike fit (nor did I think my cycling level required it, and I find real cyclists quite intimidating). John basically did everything necessary to make my bike fit for me, gave me a few tips on things to improve my cycling and things that I should look for in my next bike. I'd definitely return and look to buy my next bike from these guys!

Had a great experience buying a bike from this shop. Tom (think there's 2 but this Tom works on a sunday) was very helpful when I was choosing my bike. I recently visited Evans cycles in Ipswich to get geometrically set up on my road bike. A year had passed since I had last ridden properly so I booked in a session with John. John struck me as a massively enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable character when I originally visited the store to book my appointment. He made me feel welcome and comfortable despite my lack of knowledge. This was only exacerbated throughout the hour I spent with John setting up my geometric angle wizardry. I have since ridden the bike and noticed a massive difference in efficiency, comfort and enjoyment! I can’t thank him and the rest of the team at Evans cycles Ipswich for making me feel so welcome. Would 100% recommend and will be sure to return soon for more cycling investments.

Bent my rear XT derailiure cage on a stump at longslade trail near woburn lost the use of four gears, called in to Evans cycles martlesham on my way home spoke with the guys there very friendly and helpful. Took bike in for Mark to look at he worked his magic straightened the cage as best he could put it back together and test rode bike all gears now obtainable when I asked how much they said no charge top guys not many shops would say that nowadays top marks the Evans martlesham fantastic many thanks to mechanic Mark for taking the time when he didn't have too .

I visited Evans in Martlesham today with my old bike to have the set-up checked. I was helped by John, who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He explained everything thoroughly and spent a long time showing me why I have been getting lower back pain when cycling. He made a lot of adjustments, including my cleats, and it already feels a lot better. I can't thank him enough! I have also been thinking of buying a second, slightly better bike. John showed me several different bikes that might interest me. I will definitely be coming back to Evans to buy a new bike in the future ,after the excellent service I received today!

Helpful staff - raised handlebar free of charge. I bought a new bike online, but found the handlebar was slightly too low, and it was not an adjustable handlebar stem. Took the bike into Evans in Martlesham to buy an adjustable stem, but John pointed out that the existing stem could be made effectively taller by moving the spacers around . . . he did this in a few minutes, and now my handlebars are 1cm higher - which is what I wanted. One happy cyclist and it did not cost me anything!

After buying a bike from another store based in the North East I decided to go to Evans Cycles in Martlesham for a proper road bike fitting. Having only ridden mountain bikes, Andy gave great advise on Road cycling whilst fitting my cleats and cycle accordingly. Andy also helped me purchase some additional extras bearing in mind my budget and advised on best value for money. Very knowledgable. Each and every member of the team in store offered me help whilst I waited for Andy to return from his lunch break and were going out of their way to help all customers. Went in to this store recently to see what it was about and get my bike checked over. I have to say I was very surprised to see the size of the store and such an array of products available. I haven't bought much yet, but from what I can see very competitive on price also. The head mechanic Stephen was incredibly polite and really knew his stuff. He immediantly diagnosed the problems I had with my bike and booked it in for the next available service. Now I have it back, it feels better than when it was new! Absolutely Fabulous. Without a shadow of a doubt the most knowledgeable workshop team around. The service is fantastic every single time and the manager I think he's name might be "Steph" is the greatest bike mechanic I've ever come across. I was actually in there the other day and pretty certain I overhead someone refer to him as "The Repair King ", so evidently my views are agreed by many. I do however feel that classing him as a "King" although normally a great honour does not do this Suffolk based bike guru justice. So despite the fact that I myself am not an overly religious man, I do feel that he should be now and always, classed as "The God of all Repairs".

What an amazing service from John and Steph today! My son fell off his bike when his pedal came off not far from the store, so we went into ask for some assistance in putting it back on and they couldn't do enough for us! My son was given a seat and tissues, etc so we could clean up his very grazed knee, and they offered us a drink whilst they not only checked out the issues with the pedal, but before we went on our way they checked over his bike to make sure he was able to continue his journey safely, tightening up his seat, checking brakes and tyres. Just went into Evans as we ordered 2 electric bikes from Decathlon and one was damaged. Decathlon sent us the replacement part and some tools, but we were missing the crank puller. The very nice man Robin in Evans fixed it for us in a jiffy. The nearest Decathlon is in Chelmsford. Thank you Robin.

Evans, Martlesham (next to Tesco). What fantastic workshop employees!! My son was in tears, he has a cycling camp with the Scouts to attend tomorrow and his pedal had fallen off and daddy couldn't fix it! We took his bike to Evans, they said bring it in we'll have a look. The chap fixed the pedal as best as he could, it would be better to order a part but a quick fix was needed. The very kind man then told me the other pedal needing fixing too, so he would fix that, there was a call out from his colleague who said he'd done it! My son had a question and the chap said 'you can ask me I don't bite', so he did ask him about sequencing(?) the gears. The chap explained how, then took the bike back in the workshop and did a temporary fix as the front gearing is broken, unfortunately nothing he could do then and there as it would take ages. The chap ALSO checked my boys brakes, asked my son if he had a helmet cos he'd be stopping with his head!! lol. Took the bike back in and made an adjustment now the brake works!! I was close to tears with relief that he was able to help us and fix my boy's bike ready cycling camp. THANK YOU.

Well stocked and a good range but I was wondering around for a good 20 minutes before anybody aproched me and there were plenty of people standing around. Went into Evans store looking at bikes I got approached by john who was very friendly and knew what he was talking about I told John my story as I already have a bike and not happy with it and I'm suffering with back pain John was adimint that he could fix this problem John was saying you shouldn't suffer with back pain like that anyway the more I spoke with John the more I was thinking this guy know what he's on about anyway booked for a bike fitting to my bike for the next day. On the bike fitting it went on for a couple hours but it went so quick took all my measurements done a video before and after of my riding style adjusted my bike alot to fit it to me with the software they have to use been out on a little ride nothing major and I ended up laughing on my ride I couldn't believe my back then and now the bike is really comfortable haven't been to far on it yet but it will come definitely recommend a bike fit with John 10/10
