I have an original 80's Racer and I needed to raise the seat by 3" to suit my height. After 2 days of trying everything - I took it to Chelsea Bikes. They were incredibly helpful and asked me to leave the bike with them for an hour. I left with three chaps all trying to raise the seat. True to their word, after an hour it was sorted. There isn't much these guys can't do and they always go above and beyond. Thank you. JS (The Racer)

I have an original 1982 Emellle Racer bike and after stripping it down and re-spraying it I called Chelsea Bikes who reassembled it for me and added the missing parts. They did an excellent job. I then had the same bike serviced a few months later. They replaced the breaks for me and did an excellent job. After a fault with the brakes they took the bike back, re-did the work and also went above and beyond what I expected. First impressions aren’t always what they seem, these guys really know their stuff and have over 45 years of technical experience. I highly recommend them. Jamie

Suprised to read so many neg reviews 😱 I just popped in chelsea cycles to get new inner tubes and tyres as felt they needed replacing, as they always go flat. Lovely man suggested to just pump tyres up properly 🤣 he put lots more air in than i ever would and said if they go flat again in a couple of days to pop back and replace inner tubes. Really appreciate the service and advice, didn't charge a penny and maybe saved me ££'s.... will definitely go back when the time arises as left there feeling really pleased. Deffo recommend. I bought a second hand bike from here, the brake was very noisy and not great so the man in the shop said try it for a day and if you are still not happy come back within the month and that he would put a new brake on for me, free of charge. I came back six months later and he still changed it for free for me which was very nice. He also fitted my lights and pumped up my tyres without charge. I have gone back and bought a bell and a few extra lights from them, even though they are slightly more expensive they have good quality products so it is worth it. I would come back and recommend then!

Lost a bolt on my front wheel and these guys were able to put a new one of it where two other shops couldn’t (its a Gazelle bike and apparently parts are not that common). They were quick, friendly and even had a look at my boyfriends bike. Would definitely come back here and can highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Chelsea Bikes, they are obviously good mechanics, who know what they are doing. I have an ancient Dutch bike, which not a lot of people know how to repair, and they got everything right the first time around. They were also really gracious when I came in the first time with the wrong size tire (entirely my fault). I feel that I can trust their workmanship, which is so rare, yet so important.

Excellent no b/s service! Evans ruined my bike over-tightening spokes on a service. Almost impossible to find a drop in place that would replace spokes fast at low cost. Dropped wheel in on a Sunday and collected next day on a Bank Holiday Monday. Try getting that level of response from Cycle Surgery and all the other so called higher end shops. Well done team.

Great experience. I had been dealing with an annoying rattling for months. Another bike shop told me I needed to spend over £200 to replace my fork. I didn't believe them. I did some research and found Chelsea Bikes. They near to my house so I thought I would give them a try and they didn't disappoint. They quickly figured out the problem and fixed it. Couldn't recommend highly enough. After being quoted an absurd £62 by Cycle Surgery just to replace my brake cables, the guys at Chelsea Bikes provided a full brake, gear, and tyre service and fitted some new handlebar tape (which they threw in for a discount) for nearly a tenner less, and all within an hour. Friendly mechanic, and very up front about what level of service I did or didn't need (no trying to rip me off just because I'm new to cycling). Just as I was going to leave he noticed my saddle wasn't quite right for me so helped tweak its position and height for me. Where other bike shops can feel like they exist purely to take your money, the whole experience at Chelsea Bikes felt like they were trying to help in any way they could. Would definitely use again.

This place is pretty big and usually well priced. The staff are all really friendly if a little lax about service at times. They have a massive selection of bikes and the bike mechanics in my experience are more prone to discuss options for bike maintenance and fixes than the usual mechanic. As such I think if you are on the look out for a bike they are well worth checking out.

I have used this bike shop for over a decade, and would highly, highly recommend it! Unlike chain bike shops, you don't have to book services way in advance - you can literally walk in and have it fixed while you wait, or same day at the very least. Services are always excellent quality and good value. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I am so glad that I live near this place!

Hi - Chelsea Bikes seems to have an astounding number of very negative reviews for a place that I've used on and off for years, and has always been fine. Normally I do my own repairs. Today, I couldn't free the seatpost. I phoned them to check they were happy to loosen and replace it, and within two hours I had a phone call saying it was ready. We spent £189 in total today for: labour, seatpost, saddle, bike helmet, and two pairs of cycling gloves. Ideally, it would have been a touch cheaper, and we had to wait a few minutes because they were busy, but it was a fair price with good service, and got me (if you'll forgive the pun) out of a tight spot.

As a relatively inexperienced and not particularly fit road cyclist, hiring a bike to ride up a huge volcano was probably not high up on my wish list until recently, but I was recommended Chelsea Bikes by a friend and they didn't disappoint. The cost was very reasonable, they were flexible with our deposit too as we were low on cash, and the cheapest of their bikes was perfect. Chelsea Bikes - great service! My wife cycles to and from work daily. Her bike hadn't been serviced for a while and was tired. We dropped her bike off to the guys on a Thursday evening for a full service and it was ready for collection on Saturday morning. We were really pleased with the service - friendly, impartial advice and reasonably priced.

Really pleased with the service I got from here. I came off my bike on the King's Road, bent the dérailleur front and back and also bent a bit of the frame. It was also Easter Monday, so I was expecting that the repair would have to wait. I Googled "bike shops" and these guys came up as being open, I popped it in expecting that I'd have to buy a new bits and pieces. They gave it a once over, said they'd straighten all the bits I'd buckled as part of a normal full service, they could have easily sold me stuff I didn't need, but they were straight down the line. It was late afternoon Monday, I got my bike back noon the following day. Anyway, £75 later it's like a new bike, they cleaned it, chain and sprockets too and tightened all the bits that needed it (I normally service it myself, but these guys did a much better job) - well chuffed and this will be my new regular bike shop - even though I live nowhere near. I've read some reviews about them not lending out tools, this is fairly standard practise among bike shops. If you go out without a basic repair kit, then expect to pay, that's only fair enough, you wouldn't pop into a garage and ask to borrow a jack would you?

I went in to get my front tire alligned a few weeks ago and forgot to rate... the guy was friendly , paid what I was quoted, did the job quick enough in under 2 hours, I gave the time limit, which i was happy about and even pumped my tires But as i was riding away i noticed it wasnt straight as a line straight, there was still a tiny amount of wobble. In the front tire, it was straight enough not to drag too much but yeah would pop down again and give them longer to do it.

I'm sure you won't find better bicycle shop in London, not only in Chelsea. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what they sell, and will never push you to buy. You can find some great accessories for your bicycle here and most importantly for a good price.

Purchased a Pashley Pathfinder from Chelsea Bikes. Lovely stunning gorgeous bike. On starting my research into the bike I came across Chelsea Bikes. One of the few places that actually had the bikes premade up to try. Initially wasn’t convinced by the store (even though in my arrogance I’m not exactly well versed in bikes). After a few discussions or arguments really found out they know their work. Had problems from Pashley in the ordering but it all got sorted out. Excellent customer service if you let them bend your ear and give them time. Also Gold Standard pashley centre where you can try the bikes. Give them a go.

These guys really helped me out the other day. My chain snapped on my way to work and as they're just by my work I stopped to get a new chain. My card declined when I tried to pay (before the service) and I said I'd just take it on the overground and go into Camden Cycles the next day, as I'd only bought it from them a few weeks ago. Then the manager here did me a solid and sorted it for free saying "Well, you need it now". Really nices guys!

A few days ago the wheels on my wife's bike were stolen and Atif responded very promptly and efficiently to replace the wheels on the bike.
