I cannot recommend DT cycles highly enough. 14/12/21: My bike needed some major repairs as I'd worn everything out. As usual, David was so helpful and did an excellent job for a very good price. I know I don't need to bother shopping around or getting quotes elsewhere as I completely trust David to tell me exactly what needs doing, and to do it for a fair cost. He even did some extra things which I didn't ask for, for no extra cost. A brilliant local service.

I have used DT Cycles several times for the maintenance of my stable of bicycles. I have experienced consistently good results and excellent communication, including photographs illustrating what needs to be done and realistic estimates for completion. The flexible pick-up and drop-off times are very convenient. This is a single-person enterprise, so unlike with a bike shop you know exactly who is going to work on your bike.

I came across DT cycles whilst searching for a bike repair company or bike shop, a lot of bike shops were not willing to carry out any work on my mountain bike as it was not purchased at their bike shop. Dave was very professional and a very nice bloke, I contacted him and he was very friendly and was happy to discuss what work was needed on my bike. I dropped the bike down to him the next day and was riding the following day which was excellent, Dave ran me through all the costs and broke them down so I could see clearly what I was paying for, Dave didn’t carry out any other work that was not requested by myself unlike other bike shops. I’ve made sure I have saved Daves number in my phone for future use, cannot fault DT cycles one bit. Genuinely lovely chap, always happy to help and go the extra mile not many companies out there who offer the service DT cycles offer, will 100% be using for all my bike repairs and maintenance and have also recommended to friends.

David is the best bike mechanic in London. I have been coming to him for help and advice for several years now, and he has always been a great mechanic and a gentleman. Of course he has great technical knowledge and bicycle expertise, but the primary reason I recommend his business so highly is that he is never less than 100% honest. Many times he has gone out of his way to help me, even if it has meant less income for him. He will not charge you for work that does not need doing, and he will always make sure to offer you the best option financially, if it is suitable. You will find that his prices are cheaper than anywhere else around, and that it is a pleasure to do business with him as he is such a nice man. Although there are several bike shops closer to where I live and work, I always make a point of coming to DT Cycles because David is so trustworthy and the service is so good.

We had two bicycles repaired. One needed the brakes fixing, the other one a new rear wheel with integrated gearbox and repair of the traditional dynamo-driven lighting system. David carried out the work very competently, also fixing minor things such as the grips on the handle bar being in wrong position and a lock that did not open. He is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about bikes. His fee was very reasonable. I had been putting off getting my bike serviced for months as I hate taking it to the chain stores as you never know which mechanic you’ll be getting, I’ve had such mixed experiences in the past. Luckily I came across David after a google search, and he is exactly what I’m after - he runs the company and is the only mechanic so you know what you’re getting. David offers an excellent, attentive and personal service, completely tailored to the customer's needs and with plenty of good ideas and suggestions. I asked him to convert a Specialized Rockhopper to having a more upright-style handlebar arrangment, and with a more comfort-oriented style of handlebar (North Road type). He immediately got on the case, and made great useful suggestions. I felt completely at ease, and trusted his expertise. He explained that, to have the higher handlebars, he'd need to extend the hydraultic cables for the disc brakes, and to minimimse my expense, he reused the rear cable for the new, longer front cable. I was extremely glad to be in capable professional hands here, as I know nothing about brake hydraulics. The whole bill, also for fitting new Schwalbe Maraton Plus tyres (which are by no means easy to fit), with new gear cables, the hydraulics replaced and a defective brake pad was £130, which I thought was pretty good value. He explained that the gear cables would need readjusting after a bit, as they would bed in over time. I have never had that explained to me before, and what he said there is very true, from experience. He's going to do this adjustment for free, as part of the job. So far, they're still behaving perfectly. And that's another thing, everything he's done has been perfect. So, fantastic service, thanks David.

I always go to David now - really great bike mechanic with very reasonable prices, and also a pleasure to deal with. His workshop is stocked with every inner tube you could need - lucky cos mine puncture all the time! Hopefully they will puncture less now because David took the time to recommend some tyres that will stand up better against the canal towpath I cycle on all the time. He even ordered them in for me and had them fitted within 24 hours. You will never bother with Halfords again after meeting David - just way quicker, way better value and a much more friendly service!

David fixed my bike (Brompton) twice: he is competent, reliable, and flexible: he can come to your house to fix your bike on site or take it home to work on it, for a small fee. When I had a puncture he turned up the same evening, changed the tube of my front tyre in minutes and I was ready to go again! Reasonable prices, honest & prompt service. A real gem in East London!

I normally use Heales Cycles for my cycle repairs. As I commute from E4 to Vicrotia I need my bike in top condition. Needed new disk brakes, pistons bleeding and some gear adjustments, but Heales were booked for over a week. A Google search found DT Cycles near my home & decided to give them a go. Dave did an amazing job on my bike and turnaround was 24hours! Reasonably priced and the bike rides like a dream. Wont be going back to Heales again any time soon! Thanks Dave
