East Side is the antithesis of a bike shop in a hipster-heavy area like Broadway Market, London E8. I’m sure it works as well for die hard bike aficionados as it did for me a sporadic cyclist. Nick (who works there) was helpful, explained what my bikes needed and fixed them up and delivered on time. It’s a great bike shop and I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Could not have had a more positive experience. I had a rear brake, cables and brake levers fitted to a Tokyo bike - the quote was over £100 cheaper than a nearby store and ended up coming in cheaper than quoted. Totally transparent, honest and responsive. Fully recommended.

I wish I had read the negative reviews and the very rude owner responses before visiting this shop! I brought my bike in recently and the shop was empty but the person behind the counter was working on paperwork when I arrived. I tried several times to explain what I wanted done: just a gear adjustment and replacing my quick-release axles on my wheels with anti-theft ones. He barely listened to me and kept brushing me off when I tried to make sure he understood that I didn't need a full bike service (saying "yeah, yeah" and literally waving me out the door). Lo and behold, when I go to pick up my bike, he had done a full service and tried to charge me for it. After arguing with him about this for a few minutes, he gave in on the extra charge, which I appreciated. He did good work on my bike and the gears shift smoothly now. Unfortunately, it's exhausting to have to fight with someone to be heard during what should be a simple transaction, and I won't be returning.
Also, they didn't keep or return my quick-release axles when they replaced them. I was too distracted by the charge to notice in the moment, but it is a bit annoying.

I've always found East Side Cycles an excellent repair shop - reliable and reasonably priced. I went in today with a problem with a child's bike seat. They mended it on the spot and refused payment. Thank you!
(And so much cheaper than Brick Lane Bicycles!)

I've been bringing my bikes to Stah to repair for 15 years, back when he was at Brick Lane bycicles and he's never let me down. Best bike mechanic I ever had. He's quick, excellent at what he does and comes up with creative solutions when the problem seems unsolvable. Highly recommend.

It was the first time I have used East Side Cycles and it certainly wont be the last. I dropped in on my way to work, Nick diagnosed the issue quickly, it was repaired on time and at a great price. Fantastic experience, they work wonders with bikes.

Brought my beloved bike for a service and repair into Stah’s on Saturday, they took it in and they advised that it would be ready on Monday. And so it was. My bike looked great and healthy. They had done only the work which the bike needed and therefore they did not inflate my bill. The service fee was fair, the job done in time. I have saved them in my maps as the repairs site in this area. Totally recommend them. Well done.

The best bike shop in East London. Recommended by my friends. Prices are great. Very straight forward and great communication with everyone. Took 5 days for the bike to be fixed but I knew that from the beginning. Busy shop speaks for itself. Oh and the bike feels like they have used some magic on it. It’s faster than before ☠️

Honest, Well Priced, Attention to Detail, Quick.
I recently dropped a tandem bike in for repairs here and told the guys just replace everything - this bike is buggered! That essentially gave them a blank cheque to do as they pleased.
I was surprised to learn that it was just in need of tuning, some cable tightening, greasing and tweaking. These guys were so honest I was massively impressed, they could have rebuilt it from scratch and charged me for the lot. But I only had to pay a small maintenance fee.
I've had this bike serviced before elsewhere (insert large high street name here) and they charged 3 times as much.
They even picked up on things I forgot to mention when I dropped it in like a loose seat. I'm so impressed with these guys, will defo be my new go to bike shop!
