Absolutely amazing customer service as always I last went there 20 years ago and still own the bike and today I went and brought a new one the staff are amazing they will not sell you something that you don’t need and they are always there for support and yes it looks not like your main chains but it’s the personal and knowledgeable staff which keeps this business running thank you guys … Adh that brought the folding bike today .

Really good as far as i am concerned, they have fixed my friends bike in good way, did mine not so long ago, that was electric bike, and the customer service is not bad either. They help as well with minor things and dont charge.

Some much needed TLC for my beloved bike! Thank you, she rides like a dream. Never going anywhere else :) Highly recommended.

Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Got a full face helmet for my 3yo, after he tried a couple of models.

The is the best cycle shp in South London if not the world.... over 100 years experience and we taught Queen Victoria to ride a bike....

Friendly employees and reasonable prices. I was able to get a used bike for 65 pounds (works great) and the employee sold me a lock with a steep discount. They easily knock off at least 10% off the price tag if you ask. Great place!

Edwardes is the first place I go if I need anything bike related. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and happy to help. At the moment it is extremely busy as bikes are a hot commodity, but they still take the time to find one that works for you and keep you updated on incoming stock. Despite the fact everyone and their mother is trying to by a bike at the moment, they haven’t jacked up their prices and give great advice about what bike would actually suit you.

This is a fantastic independent bike shop. They allow you to test ride round the block unlike other stores like Evans who demand a passport or driving licence. They are helpful. They are flexible with pricing. I bought my son's second bike from them and as ever it was seamless and successful. Can't rate them enough.

my local cycle shop, love them. I've had my bike fixed twice there. the first time the brakes went along with some complicated machinery inside (35 pounds); the second the I had a puncture (12 inc service) and the wheel needed replacing (15 inc service). I could only find 25 of 27 in my purse and the man kindly offered to do it for me for 25.
tldr: friendly service and great value.
also the bikes are pretty cheap - have seen them starting at 50 (second hand)

One of the best customer experiences I've ever had. Bike shops have to work hard to shrug off the old stereotype of unfriendly service. This is a great example of one that is at ease discussing your child's first bike or your new, expensive racing machine. Their range is excellent and they have loads of components to match. Do your research on what you are looking for before you go in and you'll be greeted by friendly people eager to get you the best bike and not just to close the sale.

I've purchased 2 bikes and the bulk of my accessories from Edwardes. They have sufficient stock and have an abundance of knowledge. I live in North London but happily commute to get advice and items for my bikes.
I've since learnt that it's a family business that's been around since 1906, these guys truly know their stuff.
The prices are reasonable and the service is top rate. They're loyal to customers and will do what they can to assist you.
Best service I've encountered.
Good people.

The most helpful bicycle store I have been in and I had been in a few and of those no one ever acknowledge my presence ever. Going into Edwards was a breath of fresh air someone actually talked to me about the bike I wanted and I got the chance to try some bikes similar to the one I had chosen. I bought my bike from them because customer service is the best I have experienced in a bike store.

Top shop. Actually stocks stuff unlike many shops. Torq, Green Oil, cables, brakes, actual bikes, it's nice to be able to browse and buy stuff. Staff are great too, had my bike fixed there, good price and service.

When other bike shops are closing up and down the country, this one remains steadfastly open - and for very good reason: they fix bikes for reasonable prices. They will get you back on the road without trying to flog you a service or scare you into replacing half the parts for the price of a new bike. Highly recommended .

It's a shop full of bikes, bits, and staff who know bikes and how to fix them. Very plain speaking staff - don't expect silver service. Changed my tyre and tube while I waited OK though.

After running around between Halfords stores trying to locate the bike I wanted and finding someone to build it to no avail (and the stores weren't busy) I took myself off to Edwards Cycles as I just wanted to get a bike sorted. From the word go, the service was fantastic. They acknowledged me and made sure I knew that a (busy) team member would be with me asap. Within 2 minutes I was in the hands of a rather chirpy young man (George) who took time to listen to what I was looking for. Immediately he was showing me bikes that fitted my quota of both price and style. The minute I made my decision he was off to the warehouse to collect my bike in my frame size and started building it straight away. He even popped out halfway through to let me know it wouldn't be long and explained what was left to do. Within 10/15 minutes I was presented with my bike.
I cannot thank the guys enough for this superior service. Halfords need to take a look because seriously, I wasted a few hours with them and got nowhere.
I certainly know where I'll be going in future and who I'm going to recommend when it comes to future bike purchases.
Well done guys and thanks for taking the stress out of my day! 😉

Institution in South London. Staff knowledge second to none. Always have a large selection of bikes in store and also stock many things that would only be available otherwise on internet after a week or so wait.

Bought my Kona Dr Dew there years ago for a very reasonable price. Then after an accident, Edwardes fixed my bike up very well & were really extremely helpful. I always try & swing by & spend there in a well stocked store.

I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful and keen the staff are, having read the really bad review,so I can only assume there is more to it than meets the eye.I got discount on my new bike and a trade in on the old one and they went out of their way to assemble the new one as speedily as poss! Really pleased with the attention to detail too, as they took all the bits off the old bike and put them on the new one! Can't thank the chaps enough.

I have purchased 2 bikes from Edwards, I have been impressed by the flexibility of the staff, they keep to there word. Well organised, well stocked and practical. They have a range of used bikes to. It's really up to your spending power. You can spend as much or as little as you like.

An excellent experience. I went into Edwardes on the recommendation of a friend, and having noticed some not-so-pleased reviews being left, decided to check it out myself. I arrived with an interest to begin cycling in the city, but unsure where to start. The staff at Edwardes greeted me with an enthusiasm, patience, and knowledge that was of the highest standard.
My choice was narrowed down to two bikes which, after being briefly set up by the mechanic, I was allowed to thoroughly test out. I never felt rushed, and was given all the time I needed to make my decision. I left the shop with a bike I felt tremendously comfortable with and have been riding around with confidence since my purchase. I look forward to coming in for my first service in a few weeks time!
Thanks to all the staff at Edwardes.

Dont really shop for bike stuff much, but if I do, this is the place I always go too. Great range of bikes, great staff that know there bikes and good customer service.
R. C.
My bike's chainring needed to be fully replaced - was given an insane quote by other shops as the bike was old and piece very hard to find.
These guys not only perfectly replaced the chainring in no time but also made me pay very little.
5 stars service, totally recommend to anyone!

Great Cycle Shop. First time I have been there. Friendly Staff.
Have a lot of items for Sale
J. K.
This shop is THE business! Staff are totally knowledgeable and really honest. Sadly, that is rare thses days... I thought I needed a new chain and chainset - some shops would have exploited my ignorance and taken £80 of my money. Edwardes suggested it was as simple as a gear adjustment - a fraction of the cost! Purchased a great road bike from them two years ago. There is not a lot they don't know and they aren't snobs like so many shops. Shop is a bit of a mess but that is part of its charm. And discount for NHS staff; a no-brainer. Thanks a lot!!!
P. K.
This is the local bike shop. Really excellent staff, terrifically engaged in what your problem is, happy to sort it out, chat, good opinion on 'stuff', great stock, very quick to fit things, very very reasonable prices. A London without local bike shops would be a sad place, and this really is fantastic.
J. C.
Very friendly team, they are busy because it is a great bike shop but they will go out of their way to get you the right advice, answer questions and get you the best deals on some really good bikes - from kids to pro's. Bought my Pinarello and both my kids bikes here and have sent friends - they are all happy!
C.
Best bike shop in London! Looks a bit rough on the outside but run by an absolute great group of guys who know bits from bolts! Great selection of frames and bikes available
E. W.
Helped me choose a new bike and fitted it with everything I needed for my journeys at an amazing price. Staff don't have the cheery californian customer service but this is refreshing and their service is undeniably brilliant.

Highly recommend. Good locally run place, must have been there for years. Prices very reasonable, give good discounts. Bought my Dad's bike there and where I go for any repairs to my own.

They happily sold me a really good quality bike and added on the stuff I wanted. Really friendly and really helpful, definitely worth going to, even if you are clueless about anything bike related.
L. B.
My first visit today and I will definitely return. Friendly, helpful and gave sound advice with a free upgrade. A great local bike shop.

Excellent service from a great locally run business. Got me fully set up and ready to ride away on the same day.

Friendly guys, decent service, useful to beginners and keen sportive riders alike - plus they're independent. Tiiiiiny bit pricey, but then if you wanted lowest possible prices you'd be on wiggle or CRC, right? ;)
Also, has anyone else noticed that all the 1-star reviews here are anons? hmm.
I get the feeling some of the bad reviews here are from beginners who might have got the wrong idea about what a bike shop does, and doesn't, do, e.g. no puncture will 'stay fixed' for long if you insist on riding heavily up and down kerbs - it's hardly fair to blame the bike shop for that.
To all beginners I would say: do stuff like go to London Cycling Campaign, and read their advice, get a lesson in cycle training (free in Southwark to most) and get their advice, do a basic bike maintenance course at somewhere like London Bike Kitchen and then you'll be able to do things like service brakes, change punctures, and fit lights. Start with a basic cheap second-hand heavy bike (like the one in your dad's shed.. ), ride that for a few months and learn to maintain it, and only then start looking for a new model.
If you're into your cycling the staff here are good for an opinion or three.

Got a new Orro, at normal price, they sent it over london in a cab to my home, after a little mix up (which really wasn't a problem) with something they more than made up for it, banter in store was good, tweaked the bike set up the following week swapping bits out, some of which they could have charged for but didn't.
Can't say fairer than that. Thanks

Proper bike shop run by salt of the earth people who won't rip you off and will see you alright. They sorted out my old 10 speed carbon road bike a treat, thank you! Recommended.
P. S.
Great bike shop, would highly recommend. They know their stuff, are very honest and good value.
S. J.
Been a customer for twenty years, have purchased half a dozen bikes and always had great service. Highly recommend them 😁
C. O.
Sorted my headset out for a good price and when I got home I realised the mechanic had also sorted out my front brake without me even mentioning it. Highly recommended.
A. G.
The guys are rough and ready south Londoners, and so the customer service can appear a bit brusque, but they're generally a pretty good bike shop imo.
