T. E.New to the bike game, so wasn’t sure what was wrong with my bike, they took it in and fixed all same day! My breaks are so good now and the overall feel of the bike is so nice! These guys are super friendly and know what their doing, love the setting too, nice cute cafe with enough space to bring your bike in with you! Annnnd a cute dog too! Oh and they gave it a lovely clean too :) thanks guys!

G. C.My chain snapped on the way into work yesterday, this was the closest bike shop to me, I explained I was on my to work and could they do it for me straight away. They served me even when presented with an unusual high powered electric bike. I was back on the road within 10minutes. Excellent service, polite and a great price. Thank you.
T. K.Have enlisted the help of London Velo a couple of times now, ranging from a tyre replacement and inner tube replacement through to the gold service/part replacement. The staff have always been helpful and have quick turnaround times (48 hours) once you get through the actual waiting list (more on that later). For the gold service, I knew I was going to require a lot of replacement parts, and so while the outlay for repairs seemed a little high, I feel they did a great job and my bike feels like new again. I also like the fact that I've usually received a free coffee while waiting for smaller jobs which is a big plus!
The only reason I am rating 4 stars (more like 4.5) rather than 5 is that the waiting times at present are rather long (around 3 - 4 weeks). Of course I do appreciate that this is likely due to the fact there are more bikes on the roads over the course of the pandemic, and so it may be unavoidable. Even so, it does make it a little more troublesome getting things fixed, although I can imagine that small jobs could be done with less lengthy lead times.
Overall though, I'm very happy with the quality of service provided here, and am very glad they're my local bike shop!

I live locally and happy to find this place. Hat off to young people who do it with love and care. And to bloke who left 1 star ,mate you should try big chain bicycle shop than you will have something to moan about. Support local.

E. S.I cannot express how great this shop is... Knowledge, passion, expertise and genuinely just a pleasant shop experience. I have used them before for minor repairs and coffee after a ride. Recently went in for a silver service on my road bike. I got it back and nearly wept tears of joy when I started pedalling as it felt better than the day I bought it. In better times, I loved that I could get a bagel and watch Paris-Roubaix at the cafe. During COVID I tried a different shop and ended up having a disastrous experience where no work was performed over 7 days and I received no updates. London Velo has legit restored my faith in humanity... They gave me realistic booking times, and a good turnaround. Unbelievably great! Keep it up guys. Can't wait to have a beer in the back garden again.

The coffee is excellent, I stop here on my morning route to work and often at the weekend, before I embark on my weekend plans. The food; bagels, omelette and sandwiches is consistently good. My favourite bagel is the bacon and avocado. The gluten free brownie is amazing.
The cafe acts as a bike repair shop. I often sit in the cafe and marvel at the sense of community about the place. At the weekend, dozens of cyclists descend on the place, chatting with one another.
The employees of Velo are certainly passionate about bikes. I've eyed up a few of their bikes, when they get to work. Impressive kit. Most of all, the employees of Velo are incredibly friendly and polite.
The cafe, bike repair shop or hub of the community, whatever you want to call it, is an institution. Good coffee, great food, excellent service. Definitely worth a visit!

O. W.What a great addition to Deptford high street! Max runs a great cycle shop, and is both pleasant and efficient. I appreciated that he took the time to phone to update me on progress. Really quick turnaround on a blown-out tyre for a slightly odd model of bike, and at a decent price. Nice to get a free coffee with the bike service, which was solid, and a tasty egg and hummus bagel as well. Highly recommended all round.

The staff are all super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, James and Max make such an effort with every customer i've seen to ensure they're back on their bike as soon as possible. Have recommended this shop to everyone i know, their service is second to none and they have no qualms about their 3 month warranty either.
The cafe itself is really nice and the coffee and food selection is great. I often find myself hoping something goes wrong with my bike on the way home just so i can pop in for a coffee, one of the insanely gooey brownies and a chat with James!

S.Guys you are the best. I had the silver service done to a TREK which is two years old. It was done in under two hours and to perfection. It feel new! Very satisfied with price / quality of service. Highly recommend.
R. T.Super friendly and helpful! I turned up with a broken front derailleur which needed fixing before I set off to Paris the next day. Though they didn’t have the same one in stock, James kindly found a work around with a spare part and fitted it all for free. Really relaxed and positive attitude too, particularly compared to other bike shops I visited where some of the guys were pretty condescending. And I made it to Paris - so thanks again!

t.Got a great service on my bike after using it on my commute for just over 6m. they got it done in 1 day and it runs smoother than ever before.
I enjoyed getting advice on a new saddle which I ultimately purchased through them. Good to have someone with experience share thoughts instead of buying something online.
Also tried the coffee - I actually asked how a flat white is made and the blond guy showed me how to make it myself - really enjoyed it!!!!

You don't have to be a cyclist to visit the cafe. You're made to feel very welcome even if you're just stopping by for coffee.
Love sitting in the outdoor space out the back. In fact, I haven't actually sat inside before. There's a cute dog indoors though!

A. N.Coffee shop come bike shop. This independently owned space is a local favourite. Super dog friendly (you may even get to meet the resident Frenchie, Maurice) and a great spot for coffee and Brick Lane Beigel.

H. D.I rarely write reviews but I had to for London Velo. The service was fantastic and the place was great.
On the shop: the atmosphere is very friendly and they serve great coffee and food - and they have a very friendly French Bulldog called Maurice who wanders around the shop. The bagel and coffee deal is worth it.
On the bike service: We had to get our bikes ready for our upcoming touring trip through France and Spain and on a tight budget. James and Max the mechanics explained all of the options we had and recommended the cheapest but still good quality option. We bought a wheelset for one bike and had the rear wheel built on the other along with other parts that had to be replaced. There was none of the usual bike shop rip-off tactics that I've seen at so many shops and they really made what we wanted work for our bikes, rather than insisting everything needed to be replaced at great expense. We were told provisionally that the work would take 3 days because they had to order in the parts but we received a call the next day saying they had finished - they did it as soon as the parts arrived. They even insisted we come back before we leave for the trip to check everything was running smoothly.
TL;DR - Amazing bike shop and cafe, friendly employees and great service. The Look Mum No Hands of South London - except with better mechanics! Great Price and awesome merch.

Had great and fast service from someone who obviously knows what they're doing (unlike previous experiences in a well known bike store which has a green logo) and who isn't just doing it to make money but rather because he just really loves bikes! The price was reasonable for a service so I took the plunge to go the full hog. There was a slight delay in the parts but overall it was well worth the wait. once I was back riding it was like a new bike, no corner was cut and the bike is a pleasure to ride. Nice works guys...

L. J.I've had my bike serviced here twice, the second time two months ago. A link on my chain snapped, took my bike in, they fixed it for free under the 3 month service warranty whilst I drank a good coffee and flicked through a photobook of NYC cyclists.
My only disappointment is that no one, to my knowledge, has produced a similar book of London cyclists; the shop is not to blame for this.

It was in a bit of a bad way and the guys did a fair amount of work, replacing the cogset, chain and chainrings, as well al handlebar tape, tyres and brake pads.
All the work was done to a top standard, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely recommend.

C.My 7 yr old daughter has be- friended the cute pug dog at London Velo, so when we visit the first thing she asks us to see the dog 🐕 all the staff are awesome, so patient with my 1 yr son who throws the bicycle top trumps and games like Scrabble on the floor, and also chases the dog. Coffee is really good, vegan cake and vegan food options are lush. It has an outdoor seating area, events and yoga in the evening, and is generally always a calm and friendly place to be
B. R.Really helpful guys in the workshop. My rear derailleur went into my spokes, got mangled and snapped my dropout. They shortened my chain for me so I could get home single speed. They did it in 5 minutes and charged me nothing for it.
