Have had several bits of work done across multiple bikes here and thoroughly satisfied with all of it. Friendly and reliable. Good value for money and high quality work. The only downside is as with any good, popular LBS you can wait a while for work to be done. Highly recommended.

Fantastic customer service. Had a great range of services, fittings and gear. So pleased we have used them, fixed my bike and listened to what I needed. Will always go back there now.

I was very impressed with this shop. I usually do my own repairs but sometimes I come unstuck - in this case with the headset in my brother-in-law's Cannondale Synapse. I rang them up and then took it te bike in. The problem was more extensive than I thought but they sorted it out within the hour. The labour charge was very reasonable. While I was there they also gave advice to someone who had a problem with their brakes and swapped the pedals on someone's bike, both free of charge. That afternoon I went to a Walthamstow cycle meet. Those there also rated the shop. Worth giving the a try.

I needed an urgent repair and the team happily made space with next to no notice, repaired my bike and got me back on track within a few hours. Great business and would highly recommend!

Had my bike in for some major modification and the service was excellent!
Tony did a fantastic job! So now this will be the only place i will take my bike's! Keep up the Great work guys.

Had 2 bikes that needed repairing. One of them had the chain replaced, brakes serviced with new wires and new brake pads on both bikes , 2 spokes replaces on the other bike. Total cost was £67,great price and only had to wait for a few days. Definitely recommend it, great guys.

I'm almost don't want to say it's the best bike shop in East London b/c then everyone will start bringing their bikes here, but I can't not sing its praises enough! I recently emailed them about an issue I was having with my bike, they emailed me back the same day and serviced my bike so fast, I barely had time to miss it! Their customer service is exceptional to boot! I'm so happy that you're literally just around the corner.

Changed my drivetrain from a typical road set up to 1 chainring and big range cassette. Knowledgeable, friendly service and all running smoothly. So much nicer to only have 1 shifter for my commute. They are pros at MTBs too apparently. I'll be back!!
S. F.
Lovely service, the chap fixed my botched job and even talked me through what he was doing so I could do a better job next time if I attempted again. Highly recommend this place.
M. B.
Excellent service. I had a puncture twice in the span of two weeks and they fit me in asap. Fitted some new tyres following concerns over how much traction/grip there was left. I'm very happy with the professional judgement and service overall.
S. P.
Superb local bike shop. These guys have fixed my two expensive but aged mountain bikes, even with obscure and complex problems. They will collect and drop off bikes locally by arrangement, which was hugely appreciated. Competitive pricing and excellent service. Highly recommended, especially for mountain bikes.

Legends!
I was the annoying customer turning up 5 minutes before close... Well withon their right to tell me to come back the next opening day... Installed my headset and helped me wack on a new chain.
And all with a smile! My new local bike shop 💯

What a great repair shop. I've had my bike serviced there, and several pram inner tubes replaced. They are quick, professional and very reasonably priced. It's always a pleasure talking to them, nice people.

Like about a million other people, I figured getting my bike road-ready for our summer of very little public transport would be a good idea. The guys at Walthamstow Cycles are super-friendly and warm and very responsive over Facebook Messenger, and they got my bike ready very quickly given the number of people with the exact same idea as me. My bike feels better than ever.
Services start at £50 but parts and additional labour for replacement parts is added to the bill. I've no complaints about that - the work was done brilliantly.
One thing for people to note - they are closed on Thursdays (as of May 2020 anyway). I stupidly didn't check when I went to pick up my bike and had to take a long walk of shame home and return the next day.
J. H.
Fantastic local bike shop. Ive been biking all my life and can do many repairs myself but when I need a proper expert, I pop in there every time. Really nice guys as well. They are some of the only mechanics I trust for quality work and honest advice.
T. Y.
I take my bike here for everything. There's no point trying to fix it change anything myself at they'll do it quickly, reasonably and professionally. Friendly, hard working and don't always charge anything if it's just an adjustment or minor alteration to work they've completed themselves. Can't recommend highly enough.
C. K.
What a brilliant, friendly and efficient team. I'm a teacher and I commute to and from work by bike. I brought my bike in after a puncture and told them I had struggled with several punctures over the past month. They recommended a tougher tyre and fitted it in just over an hour so I can cycle to work tomorrow. Thank you so much!
T. L.
Just had our bikes serviced. My bike is all shiny, it no longer make weird noises, and my wife is happy to ride hers again. Really friendly team. Highly recommended!
R. B.
I took my bike in for a safety check and service after leaving her outside all winter and I would highly recommend this shop. The price ended up being lower than originally quoted and was ready for me to collect quickly. The job they did was great too, it feels like riding a new bike and I'm very happy to be back on 2 wheels. I will be coming back for any more bike repairs needed!
A. M.
I've only been there once so far, but the guys were very helpful, put two new pedals on my bike with no labour charge while I waited, even though they had loads of work to do. They also really seemed to know their stuff, and were very friendly!
S. R.
Best bike shop in town. Seriously the bike service is the best. My bike has been so smooth ever since.
R. D.
These guys are awesome- took the bike in for what I was advised (by another bike shop) and expected to be a costly repair to my freehub... left it with them and returned to find it was a broken spoke, overjoyed to not have another expensive repair job. They maintain my second bike that I commute down the canals daily on and since there service 9 months ago I’ve had no issues, 5 star every time!!!
C. F.
Really great service, and a lovely team! Confidence and bike knocked after coming a cropper, but the team have fixed it up beautifully and it feels like a new bike! Thanks again, Charlotte
A. B.
Very good service from Tony and the team both pre- and post sales, and the prices of bikes and accessories are reasonable. They'll give you honest help and advice about what you need whether you are buying something or having a service, and won't bamboozle you with technical terminology (unless of course that's what you want!!). Would highly recommend to anyone, whether new to cycling or more experienced.
W. S.
Tony Really knows his stuff. I highly recommend getting a bike fit/set up done on a new bike with him. He makes a good bike become fantastic. Sure everyone knows know how to move the saddle and handlebars but setting suspension response, tyre pressures, brake lever placement, handbar rotation makes for a far more comfortable and responsive bike. Very happy!!!
S. S.
I bought a used Cannondale road bike here - the best I've bought in 30 years of cycling, and probably (hopefully) my last.
The team have been so helpful, building, dismantling and packing my bikes, advising on necessary (and unnecessary) kit, and making the whole process of deciding on and buying my bike a pleasure.
many thanks,
SS

Highly recommend this shop. Good Service, friendly, helpful staff and inexpensive, compared to the other bike shops in the area. This has now become our regular shop for our bikes.

A first class Five Star service from Sean at the shop. I couldn't get online at this difficult time, and all the other shops were not answering their ' phones , but Sean called me back , and sorted out and and set up a beautiful " Ridgeback " bike for me , and even threw in a cycle helmet for free!l , despite being snowed under with work !!
I'd lost my vehicle and would have been stranded in London otherwise .
A proper " Old School" service: Cheers Sean and Walthamstow Cycles !!
S. M.
These guys deserve the perfect score they currently have. Fantastic, straight forward, honest and helpful advice and great bike servicing. Impeccable customer service.
D. C.
Everything you hope for in a bike shop-friendly, know their stuff and quick to resolve the issue - quite a few places in the area but this is where I’ll keep bringing my bike
j. d.
Ever since I’ve had contact with these guys they’ve been absolutely spot-on. I know absolutely nothing about bikes but they always take the trouble to explain clearly and patiently what is needed and my options are. This is proper service from people who love what they do. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is a fantastic new shop that has opened on James St! I went in for a child seat for my bicycle and was recommended a Hamax which was great and I was out riding with my littlan on the back later that day. I also picked up some pedals, spare tube and a kids helmet too so pretty well stocked. The owner is a very knowledgeable and helpful guy and I felt at ease the moment I went in (this is not the case in a lot of bike shops!). 100% recommend this place.

Enroute via train to catch a overnight Ferry From Harwich to Holland to start a long distance cycle tour through Europe I discovered cracks around the spoke holes of my Cycle,One of which was a split.?
I decided to abandoned the tour and called Walthamstow Cycles in the " hope" Tony would be able to go that extra distance to find me a new rear wheel, not so easy with a through axle 29er & with the other quirky measurements, I needed this rim in black as well.
I knew the main big cycle stores would mean a weeks wait being summer time and so busy, Walthamstow Cycles was also busy so I was worried.
Next day after a special order failed to arrive at the shop, box arrived with other parts for other customers minus my wheel.
I was there when the rep called and spoke to Jamie.
Visiting Tony in store seeing him on the phone calling round other shops to source a replacement was time consuming and rare that the shop would even go to so much bother when other shops would wait until the next wheel would be sent which was quoted to them the following week.
Plus this was Friday afternoon and it was busy.
Tony finally sourced one rear rim in black in London which he took off to collect on his motorbike there and then.
Within the hour he arrived back and straight to work on my cycle. "no extra charge" for outstanding effort.
Whilst waiting I was listening to Jamie & Shaun with customers and was surprised that some items were repaired or fixed for free alongside the main repair, when other stores would of charged you time after time for sure.
These people make a connection which is missing these days.
Trust along with real customer service has been witnessed here.
I was not charged for the time it took Tony leaving the work he was doing to take off across London to fetch me a rear wheel so I could get on with my cycle tour.
There was zero stress involved on my part in the whole of this process.
I left the shop leaving them with a quest to find me a touring cycle which I could have the shop convert to belt drive + nexus, which is not possible on my cycle.
To the Walthamstow cycle three, Thank you.
I am very happy

The best bike shop I've found in London. They've looked after both my carbon road bike and cheap commuter brilliantly. Always happy to help out, don't talk to you like an idiot (as some shops do), reasonably priced and he'll even come and pick your bike up & drop it off if you're feeling lazy.
W. M.
Very friendly and very quick, also well-priced. Gave me some advice on how to keep my bike in good nick as well. Will definitely come here again.
A. C.
Best prices in Walthamstow for bike repairs. Fast communication, comes and picks up your bike for you and fixed it within 24hrs. Really nice and helpful staff!
J. C.
If you can find a bike shop in London that can fit a press-fit bottom bracket without it creaking after a week then you should go there for all your bike needs.
This is that bike shop.
I'm always amazed at the variety of bikes they have in the workshop as well. Once they had one with gearbox like a car!
N. F.
Bike was a mess, i'd been with another bike shop before and kept having problems. I took it to this shop and the service was spot on. I paid alot for the repairs it wasn't cheap, but you get your moneys worth. The bike feels like new!
B. D.
been here a couple of times now is a fantastic place. very helpful staff rebuilt my wheel without any quibble. This is going to be my new local cycle shop for spares/repair and cycle to work scheme....10 out of 10 fellas!
G. L.
Great to have a proper bike shop in the area that stocks some quality brands and also does repairs. Always have my bike serviced here, staff are great! Very friendly and trustworthy.
B. H.
The friendliest bike people in the whole world (possibly, I haven't been everywhere). Really good advice, products, everything really. I'll definitely be going back.

Friendly, patient and knowledgeable staff who have advised and helped me out with annoying issues on both an elderly hybrid and a brand new Trek 920. Very fortunate to have this business in Walthamstow - they're everything one could wish for in a Local Bike Shop and deserve the 5 star reviews!
p. m.
Friendly, above and beyond.
Like another reviewer 6 months ago I also have a new breed of touring cycle a Trek 920 (adventure tourer/looks like a mountain cycle with drop handle bars)which has 29er wheels, not easy to find a good tyre and mudguards to match. So I called Tony who was about to close for the day and he mentioned he could supply me with both as he sorted out the previous Trek 920.So with minutes to spare I arrived at the shop and met Tony & Jamie, it felt strange they were like people I knew before except I never met them before, anyway I placed my order and waited.
it was by chance I seen a guy with the same cycle as mine so I stopped and asked where/when and how did he manged to source the combo.
Walthamstow cycles he informs me,Never heard of the place. I was surprised because the Trex 920 where we both brought ours bikes as it happens fitted my cycle with a mickey mouse pair of mudguards so I threw them away..and assumed I would have to suffice.
I was not aware you could fit a 28 tyre on a 29 rim. Before mine were 29 with a 2.10 tyre.. Tony sourced a 28 tyre 1.75 mondial schwable(which I really like) with some really sturdy mudgurds 28" 65 mm complete with all the spacers if needed and extra fittings.
Jamie rang me to say the mudguards arrived on the Friday,so I visited "Peters here " he calls downstairs to Tony as if I was a regular customer.
Today I was called again and visited to collect the tyres and this time I asked if I could look downstairs at the mechanic working and the work being done.."without question instantly I am allowed down below " I go downstairs and see Tony busy working on a bike with many more to do after..I take a good look everywhere. Small upstairs but busy hub below.
with a modest but interesting selection of cycles.
Customer Service is what your find here and a lots of it.
They service your bike none of this silver/bronze/gold bull..it really gets serviced here properly..
They even come round and collect your cycle if your busy.(read the review like i did about the rust bucket bike).
Anyway as I left I asked a customer as he was leaving same time as me so I asked him what he thought about the place. turns out he has been in a few times and like me was nicely surprised as well. There shop might be new yet these guys are not new or work shy when it comes to cycles-any cycle, real grafters not just workers smiling and nodding in the right places.grafters.
Dogs bollocks if you ask me..Thanks Walthamstow cycles & good bye Evans

Booked my Cannondale SuperSix in for a service and replacement of rear derailleur cable - I like to tinker with the bike regularly myself but after a Winter of commuting and road grit being chucked at it I felt it had earned some TLC courtesy of the guys down in the 'stow. Wow - it's like a different machine - feels mega responsive - from the Winchester Rifle accurate gear shifting to the 'rip-my-face-off-with-the-g-force- braking power' it was money well spent. Always a pleasure to have a chat in store, and the guys happy to tweek cables after a few 100kms once the inevitable stretch has occured - thoroughly recommended - A+++
P. W.
Great quick service at a reasonable price. If you've got a bottom bracket that just won't budge, head to these guys.

I am a brand new commuter cyclist and all the guys at Walthamstow Cycles were really helpful on my initial visit answering my questions (which was really nice given my lack luster visits to a few other bike shops before I found them) and they ordered the Raleigh ebike I had my eye on and a few days later I returned and they let me road test it, gave me helpful advice and a demonstration and I bought the bike and a few other bits and pieces... I would highly recommend them, especially if you are a newbie like me.
S. L.
