Nick at Island Bikeworks absolutely saved our bacon today. My partner and I are cycling a tandem around the island. We managed to get our chain stuck between the cassette and wheel. Couldn't dislodge it, couldn't turn the wheel = we were completely stuck. Phoned Nick who is booked up but happened to be travelling roughly our direction, so he popped over at the earliest opportunity. The tandem is a horrible complex mix of old and new, different parts which require different tools. Nick worked it out, fixed the issue, and got us on our way with a bike working better than it had at the start of the day. Huge thanks to Nick, clearly knows his stuff and is a top bloke.

Outstanding Service- amazingly priced for the service. Liaised by email, and Island Bike Works arrived on site to complete repairs- well equipped, well tooled and carrying appropriate spares. Two bikes seen to, one of which was awkward (and I was glad it hadn't just been awkward to me) both in fantastic condition again. Nick saved me buying a new bike by renovating my commuter. Amazingly patient mechanic, and generally all round good guy. I don't trust many people with my bicycles, but will definitely be using Nick and Island Bikeworks again-best money I've spent on my bicycle in ages!

My mountain bike had been standing in a damp shed for two years. After leaving it with Nick at Island Bikeworks for a few days it was returned to me working as good as new. After many years of never having our bikes serviced, we just have, by Nick at Island Bikeworks. Why didn't we do this before? It's like having new bikes. My son's bike had been acquired second-hand and he has been having real problems with the gears - evidently it had the wrong parts fitted at some time but we had no idea. Nick explained the problem and what needed to be done and has put everything right. Lots of other little problems fixed, so we're all set for smooth, comfy cycling again!

Excellent service. Arrived on time. The bike had been mouldering in the shed. I needed it back on the road and safe. For a very reasonable service price the bike was brought back up to code without the hassle of taking it to a bike store. Would thoroughly recommend and use again for both major and minor repairs.
