Love this place. Great hour or even a few hours out! Nice to watch the boats with the little ones or have a nice walk with the dog and have an ice cream/food/drink afterwards🍦

I’ve truly enjoyed strolling around this area with a dear friend. After a long walk, we sat on the ground and had some delicious wraps and slices of watermelon while staring out to the weir. It was sheer pleasure. I’ll definitely go back very soon.

Always a pleasure to visit this wonderful homely yet well equipped cafe. The owners and staff always give a warm and genuine welcome. We go regularly because we love it. Especially nice during warm weather, when you can sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the peaceful surroundings by the Trent. A hidden haven!! Enjoy xx
L. W.
A big thank you for hosting the Beeston beacon for the Platinum Jubilee! Enjoyed a memorable occasion, with relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely place, very friendly and there is a small pub with an outside area.

Went here for a first time. Lovely surroundings and friendly service. Locals were friendly and welcoming. Live music on over the bank holidays but was informed that there's some form of entertainment several weekday nights and also weekends. Definitely a place to go back to,relax and unwind.

Love the walk from Attenborough nature reserve to Beeston marina as you get your 10.000 steps in. The cafe is your lovely old fashion type serving breakfast cobs, sarnies, tea cakes and full English, with veggie and gluten free options. Extremely well priced and the man who runs it really makes the place. One of those constant happy, chatty and full of life characters. Always a pleasure popping in and enjoy the outdoor seating looking over the water.
T. B.
The Weir is impressive, nice to sit nearby it.
Has a shop, pub and cafe here but never used them.
A. H.
A nice walk by the canal & river. A Chandlery, a pub & a cafe, plenty of boats to look at (obviously), lots of birds & generally something always interesting. Always been fascinated by this area & been coming down here since I was a kid, over 50 years, and it's hardly changed. Oh yes, the canal heritage centre. Nice café & lovely walled garden.
D. J.
Great place to either sit and watch the world go by, watch the local nature or walk along the river bank to Attenborough nature reserve, where there is a cafe and shop. There is also a great little coffee shop at Beeston Marina with a lovely garden where you can also buy plants.
P. B.
Nice friendly staff and atmosphere, good food and a lovely pint of Guinness, recommend a visit.
I. B.
Great place to sit by the river trent and chill out. The boat cafe is a lovely friendly place run by Tony and staff with inside and outside dinning . The pub next door is also inside and outside seating with a friendly staff. Lovely views of Nottinghamshire.
S. T.
Lovely place to sit in the summer. Cafe, shop and bar all in the vicinity. Also close to canal. Great walks nearby.
E. C.
I like Beeston marina, but it tends to attract loud laddish locals, which is okay if you don't mind it. If you're looking for something a bit more classy, you should venture to trent lock not far away.
--
In response to Chris. The marina is enjoyed by a wide demographic that pass through along by the river. The overall demographic at the pub, cafe and chandlery are usually loud laddish locals who frequently 'do enjoy themselves too much', and at times can intimidate passers by strolling along the path through the middle!

We had a lovely cup of tea after our walk, at the boathouse cafe, which was very good value for money.
We then had a stroll back to our car and took in the lovely scenery down by the river trent.
P. B.
Nice place ,lovely cafe owned by Tony and if you go left as you come out of the cafe you come to Beeston wier, a nice open space and a special place because this is also called owens place ,a young boy who tried to save two girls from drowning but ended up drowning himself ,I always pay my silent respects when visiting ,
S. E. P.
It was full of people but because the weather, very hot. Although they had 3 terraces, I waited for a while to grab a table to drink a Coca-Cola and my BlackIcetea with ice, guarana and lemon. A place I'm in love with. When you sit at the table and look into the distance the forest and the field of a strong green charge you with energy and then the water of the river Trent, it relaxes you, the rest is a bonus. So, I recommend.
E. M.
Very pleasant place with good atmosphere boaters, walkers, cyclist all enjoy. Good staff and brilliant music in bar.
K. T.
Always incorporate a walk here when walking around Attenborough nature reserve. The café does food and hot/cold drinks and the owner is so friendly. Love to see the canal boats there. Worth a visit
A. B.
Great for families
Nice pub with friendly staff and good prices
Great little cafe with good food and honest prices
J. G.
A great place to be beside the Trent after a walk along the towpath from Attenborough nature reserve. The pub & the cafe ran by the irepressible Tony seem to work together very well. They both have outdoor area's where you can sit eat & people watch, altogether a lovely area.
M. H.
We are regular walkers and live feeding the birds. Hope to call in Tony's cafe at weekend for a drink and friendly chat!
T. S. (.

Great little spot to rest. Don't forget to check out the Boat Cafe and then head up to the Attenborough Nature reserve. Super run & cycle area.

D. W.
What a beautiful place. I had a delicious light breakfast at the 'greasy spoon' cafe and the owner/server was very friendly.
P. B.
First impression in using visitor moorings, cafe, shop and bar suggest this place oozes friendly honest hard working folk. It really is a lovely place full of characters.
A. B.
Visited via a circular walk to Attenborough. Nice quirky places to have a bite to eat or drink at. Can be busy when the sun out.
K. W.
I only went to visit the chandler's and was very impressed by the selection of items. This has to be one of the best chandler's in the area it was fantastic, I'll definitely be back.
S. T.
Good friendly atmosphere chandlery very good for bits and ice-cream. Café great food and service.
G. D.
Chilled atmosphere. The pubs/bars/restaurants are not in a very good shape but the views and vibes are great
Y. A.
This is one of our favourite places for a family walk.
It's a lovely walk, suitable for pushchairs and not very long for the kids.
On the way you can see snails, slugs, butterflies and small frogs, which is very interesting for the kids to look for.
The place is never to crowded, which is nice.
But please always be careful of bike rides as it's very popular with them.
M. M.
Absolute beauty!
Very good for day out with young ones!
c.
Really nice tea rooms near the lock gates . Lovely area in the garden for children. Old style cottage of days gone by .

We were working locally a couple of weeks ago and decided to park here to have our picnic lunch by the river. We were able to get a coffee and enjoyed our visit with lots of other people soaking up the sunshine
T. S.
Lovely place very tranquil great scenery
E. W.
Fabulous time! Perfect afternoon. Lovely walk in the fresh air. Enjoyable outdoor refreshments at the local tea rooms. Also, a well deserved ice-cream after our long, invigorating walk along the River Trent, lined by various marine vessels
Yes, it was very pleasurable time, enjoyed in the bright sunshine.
P. A.
Fantastic breakfast and service..A Newark Cyclist
L. X.
Beautiful and serene. Love to come here for a quiet walk and the sunset.
P. J.
It's a different world altogether in this part of Beeston. A community within a community and has a good feel about it.
k. j.
The marina itself nature wise is lovely, super views across the river, you can buy an ice cream at the boating shop. The cafe is ok but the bar on the main marina side is dreadful. It's a real shame that in a location so pretty there's an eye sore of a place that looks run down and depressing inside and out. Would be so fantastic to have a cool, tastefully decorated riverside bar with terraced deck. I would welcome the opportunity to take over the business and make it 'the' place to hang out by the water to have a good meal, a glass of wine or a nice cocktail.
D. L.
Always been a favourite place of mine, my dogs idea of heaven .
A. B.
This chandlery was not on my radar for some reason but it is now. Really helpful and got my outboard running again after a grounding so I could continue my trip with a working engine. And they sell ice-creams. Perfect.
R. T.
Lovely walks to the marina, great café friendly staff with great views.
D. b.
Pleasant stop on cycle ride, well stocked chandler shop. Only purchased ice creams, but was impressed with the variety of food and boating accessories stored. Riverside cafe and bar looked very popular.
L. S.
We love it here
M. D.
Got out of our inflatable kayaks at this point. Easy lil cafe and a pub on site
s. a.
Friendly people good place to visit for food and drink
A. R.
Best new walk, right next to river and lagoons, very nice.
K. B.
A nice walk through the reserve for a friendly pint/food 👍😜 cracking!!!
V.
Very nice in the sunshine but chilly in the shade. Gets very busy when weather is good. Only downside is that the cyclists don't walk with their bikes in parts where biking riding is not permitted
S. M.
What lovely staff down there. Their table service Made us feel like we were in a restaurant. They know how to keep Pedigree ale as well. ( not many can)
R. B.
Nice café and bar and so many places to walk around
R. H.
Great place for a walk out during covid. Good network of oaths in all directions, wide enough to maintain distancing. The cafes are closed but are doing takeaway drinks. Lovely views that are never the same each time I go and all the wildlife to boot.
M.
Nice walks or family bike rides along the river to Attenborough Nature reserve.
Unfortunately the bars and cafes here are shut at the moment but I noticed a little shop that has a kiosk for hot drinks, snacks and ice creams.
Lovely walks on a sunny day.
D. S.
The most friendly cafe and down to earth prices
I. C.
Very nice walks by the canal and river. Excellent tea rooms
D. H.
A lovely area within Attenborough Nature Reserve for running, walking, cycling, etc.
As it is right on the river all boating activities can also be persued.
There is a cafe / bar at the marina and also a cafe and wc facilities at the visitor centre. (Wheelchair friendly)
If you wish you can just stroll and take in nature, I would say 95% of the paths and walkways are wheelchair accessible, and absolutely no age restrictions.
There are various picnic areas weather permitting.
The walk we took was 4.2 miles, but again do as as much as you feel comfortable with.
We will definitely be back.
A. I.
Good walking trails around, lovely to visit and walk along on a sunny day. Don't forget to visit the Beeston Canalside Heritage Centre, the best cafe in that area!
B. M.
Lovely cafe nice people and great tosties😊
R. G.
Best marina for miles n miles. We'll stocked chandlery. Chris and Eddie knowledgeable and super helpful! Cannot recommend highly enough. Also great place for walks pub n cafe.
P. C.
Very pleasant setting and seating readily available . Limited menu in cafe probably due to covid restrictions. Bar food not available until 3pm. Mixed level of service again due to covid and the pressures imposed by this.
l. h.
Lovely pub friendly nice sit by the canal
I. M.
Walked along the paths from Attenborough Nature Reserve to the marina. A lovely tranquil walk. The marina has a couple of shops mostly closed at the moment. Was able to get a drink and ice cream from the Chandlers and sit on a step watching the world go by.
p. T.

Nice place to be if you on A bike or walking
G. W.
Excellent walk with cafes / pub &lovely views of the river canals & boats.
**It was one of the best walks I've been on. I lived in chilwell for 23 yrs & Beeston was part of my " patch" but for some reason I never visited before. I was so impressed I visited in the morning & went back in the afternoon with my daughter & 4 grandkids & we had another lovely walk. They are not keen on walking ...rather be on tablets ...but They want to go again. I've already recommended it to 2 or 3 friends. It was great & we will definately come again.! 👏
R. H.
Lovely little walk and cafe here.

P. S.
Nice to visit good facilities friendly staff
M. R.
Attended a 60th at the Riverside Bar last night. Venue was great although very warm inside but lots of outdoor space to move too on the river. Good selection of drinks at the well stocked bar. Plenty of nice friendly staff. Good food. Toilets could do with a spruce up but adequate. Could of negatives could do with a handrail for the steps front and back of the venue and most of all a sign at the end would be a real help not being there before our taxi struggled to find where to get in. All in all a good, entertaining night - thanks.
A. B.
Excellent service. Our leisure batteries failed on the second day of our summer holiday. Beeston Marina supplied and fitted 3 new batteries in a hot engine bay on the hottest day of the the year. Saved our frozen food and meant we could continue the holiday.
C. F.
Love this place can walk from Marina to Attenborough Nature Reserve. Places to get eats and drinks. So many robins are seen here plus other birds.
L. T.

C. H.
Lovely place, beautiful walks nearby. Friendly service from staff at the pub.
S. G.
Nice family atmosphere, the staff are lovely. I wish them all the best following the draconian past year with all the fear mungering fake news.
G. K.
Very nice boating on a small river and as well as a walking area.
C. B.
Very nice, shame about the pub, sat for an age, never got served and they did know we were waiting... So we left.
S. F.
I got there 1 1/2 hours after it closed and he opened up and helped me out with hose & clips as my water pump had packed up. That's what I call great service.
M. R.
Very lovely place to relax with your family. The houses the water with soo much boat ⛵ are soo amazing
K. M.
Pleasant unspoiled walk despite selfish behaviour by some nuisances in helmets. Just a reminder that social distancing is still in operation even in the capital of Broxtowe.
D. M.
This is a great place for a walk and if your hungry after the walk food drinks are close by.
C.
Fantastic atmosphere. Don't miss going to the friendliest cafe in the country. Tony is a star.
C. F.
The prices are reasonable at the chandelry. However the older gentleman behind the counter does need to learn some manners and be more welcoming. If you dont want to be there...leave!
C. M. W.
Tony is a great host who remembers folk and is concerned about folks welfare. He makes the café a pleasant place to visit.

I visited Eddie originally to ask advice on my engine . He really spent the time to talk to me and give advice on my engine . In the end I decided I needed a new engine and so I went back to see Eddie . He advised me on the best engine to suit my boat . Throughout the purchasing process he kept in touch to let me know how thing were progressing . Once the engine arrive he gave it a pre inspection and explained clearly all the aspects of the engine to me . I am now the proud owner of a great new engine for the right price . I couldn't recommend beeston marine workshop more they are very professional and wouldn't hesitate to return should I need anything else
