Reg Taylor cycles is the real deal. Staff offer honest advice and their charges are decent. More often than not, you won't be able to have your your bicycle fixed on the spot because they usually have a lot of bicycles to fix daily. So you'll most likely have to leave the bicycle and return in minutes to hours. Mine was ready in less than an hour however. And it would appear that they did a good job reconnecting my broken chain.

Recommended by a keen cyclist & had problems with replacing a gear cable on my road bike. After buying the parts from them & running into difficulty i took my bike in the following day & i was greeted with a very friendly service & they were superb, they did the repair within a few hours & notified me that it was ready to be collected. Great bike shop with nice customer service and very speedy service! The staff member was really lovely and even gave me a history of my bike which was a nice touch! My bike is working perfectly now and the amount of hand sanitising stations was great as well. The only thing was the front door which was difficult to open with a bike but other than this great service and will definitely use ir again :)!

I had booked in for my bike to be serviced, but when I arrived, the shop assistant told me he wasn't sure if it was worth fixing for the price. He explained everything that was wrong with it very clearly and added it up for me, which made it clear that he was absolutely right, it needed too much work to be worth it! I really appreciated the honesty, which saved me a lot of money. Reg Taylor Cycles could easily have taken my business and cost me more money in fixing the bike than it was worth, but he was honest with me and saved me a bunch. I stumbled upon this bike shop. I needed to replace a wheel my son's very old bike, (which meant it was an unusual size). Not only did they have the right wheel in stock, they also did the necessary modifications (moving spokes, changing the axle dimensions, moving over the old tyre and inner tube, pumping it up, etc for next to nothing. These guys are talented bike mechanics and pricing is extremely fair. If I was local I would use them for servicing every time and my son will be a regular, I'm sure. Highly recommended.

They're a proper LBS with encyclopedic knowledge and plenty of time for people who have difficult problems to solve. The guys at Reg Taylors are fabulous. I have been bringing a variety of bikes to them for about 4 years. No matter if it is my carbon road bike or my 1980's folding shopper, they are helpful, courteous and friendly. If work doesn't need doing then they will tell you. There are lots of bike shops in Oxford, but we always bring our bikes here when something needs doing. We get a great, speedy affordable and friendly service every time. What more could you ask for. We've also bought our last 2 bikes from here and I recommend talking to the staff if you are looking for a new bike. You get great advice, good prices and also great after-sale care.

Been bringing bikes here for 8 years. These guys know what they're doing, are friendly, efficient and fairly priced. They have done work on a tandem and solo bikes for me. Fitted dynamo lights, rebuilt wheels, ordered special parts at no extra cost and done regular maintenance, and turned every job around in good time. Wonderful place with a decent selection of bikes and basic accessories to purchase as well.

Oxford has at least ten bike shops. And this is probably the most unassuming-looking of them. But the workshop is a true wonder. Knowledgeable, careful, quick, cheap, polite. You might walk past and think 'Ah, it's all kids' bikes and hybrids, they won't know X or Y'. But they do! Over the past few weeks they've serviced my folder, cut a carbon steerer, installed a dropper post with complicated internal routing. Every time the work has come back immaculate. No hype, no fuss, no hidden workshop or big displays. It's just great. Use this shop. EDIT: They have also packaged, posted, and returned a wheel that needed parts they couldn't acquire, liaised with the external company, and put up their own money for the repair before I paid them. I didn't even buy the wheel from Reg T in the first place. Seriously, this business is AMAZING.

I always take my bike here to get fixed. This is one of the best bike shops in Oxford. The prices are very reasonable.The staff really know there stuff and are very helpful. The level of service and expertise you will get in old school independent stores like this is very rare in larger chain stores. Reg Taylor Cycles – I live several miles away from this company but they were recommended and, so far, have more than excelled. Not only did they do a great job very cheaply on one bike I was about to discard but they also checked out another, tweaked some bits and didn’t charge for their time..! Their advice, as I had bought the bike second hand recently, was that I make sure I enjoy riding it first before I spend the extra £25 replacing the gear mechanism. Now that’s what you call customer service…!!

I've been to lots of bike shops in Oxford but I like this one the best. They fixed my 15 year old and very much aging bike back to new. They're not necessarily the cheapest in Oxford however the work they do is excellent. They really do know there stuff. I never go anywhere else now.

I first went into Reg Taylor in 2016 after buying a bike online, it needed a service as I hadn't taken care of it. Gareth, who runs the business, was absolutely lovely, attentive, and explained what he was going to do. Since then I've moved to London, but I still take my bike to Reg Taylor about twice a year for anything that needs doing to it or it needs a service. The shop is lovely and you couldn't ask for nicer staff, and trustworthy service.

BEST BIKE SHOP IN OXFORD! (If only google review had 6 stars!) Moved to Oxford two years ago and needed a new bike for commuting. After shopping around a bit, I found Reg Taylor to be the best in offering me straightforward, honest advice and I went with their recommendation of investing slightly more money in a good quality bike. Took my bike for a service without booking it in at 8 on a Saturday morning, it was finished by 3 the same day. Service, gear cable replaced, spoke replaced, wheel truing, new brake pads and gear calibration. All of that for 26 pounds. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Went here today for the first time - I thought that I needed two new tyres and tubes. After taking a look at my bike they advised me that I only needed one new tyre and that it would be ready the next day after 12 (which I thought was pretty prompt!). In fact, it was ready within 3 hours and they texted me to let me know! Great service and very reasonable too! Will definitely be going back for future bike needs!

They are knowledgeable and helpful, but unfortunately I found the prices a little on the steep side. I went in there to test ride a bike that I was interested in buying, and then went home to think about it. When I searched online for reviews, I also found it on sale substantially cheaper elsewhere. I put it to them that I would prefer to buy from them because they had given me the test ride, but that this didn't justify paying a big price differential. They wouldn't budge on price, so unfortunately they lost the sale.

How refreshing to go to a bike shop and not be spoken to like an idiot and not be told there's several days wait in the workshop. Reg Taylor fitted a part for me at short notice as I was in a bit of a spot and also made some other adjustments to the bike and some recommendations on maintenance & repair.... all for less than a tenner! I first visited Reg Taylor 7 years ago with a mountain bike I wanted to ride a triathlon in. Despite the unsuitability of the bike, they serviced it promptly and I was given a whole lot of free advice that proved invaluable on the day. Also, when I took my bike in with its second puncture in two weeks, they said it was probably because the tyre was worn, apologised for not spotting that the first time, and only charged for the replacement tyre, not the new tube or the labour.
