We had two road bikes serviced and minor works completed. We were able to book our bikes in within a reasonable time frame and the staff kept us up to date with progress on parts and work completed. We were also kept informed of the cost of works which was excellent value for money. We have used Hargroves since the pandemic took hold and have found all the staff to be knowledgeable helpful and courteous. Thankyou

I came here today to try find a bike to replace one that I had stolen and John was amazing! He let me try several bikes, showed me around the shops, I had my heart set on a particular bike that I had and he listened and I found a bike I loved! I spent 2 hours here and I had a hundred questions and we even ended up chatting about other stuff was really sound and I felt really at ease .... I really think that they have a fab employee here and I hope he gets to read this :) I appreciated your above and beyond customer support today - thanks so much and I cant wait to try some of the trails you suggested

I found the stock prices really excessive there was no helmets under £60 I know they aren’t cheap anymore but all seemed a big prices to me. However bike repair and service charges seem about the going rate and a good job done. Staff are easy to talk to and knowledgeable. I would return but doubt I would buy anything

Louis and the whole team here were FANTASTIC. Helpful and knowledgeable. Reserved the last cube in the country for me until I could drive down from Reading to pick it up! Fitted all my accessories for me there and then and even helped me load my new bike into my car!! Cannot recommend them highly enough.

The overall experience was good. Unfortunately, there is no option to take the bike home in the box then and there, you have to wait for them to build it, which can take a long time based on how many staff they have working at one time. But good service and nice range of bikes and equipment.

Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A no pressure service with plenty of useful advice. Whilst maybe not the cheapest bikes they are good quality and well made. The team are very flexible helping to make things work out for the customer. They are also very encouraging and enthusiastic when talking to their customers and their not so knowledgeable mother. Popped into Hargroves Cycles today for a replacement tyre for my son’s Frog bike. In just10 minutes the tyre was fitted and they even fettled the derailleur at the same time so it is now working perfectly. Big thanks to John who was super helpful.

Ordered a brand new 2021 Scott Scale 980 XL frame through cycle scheme. It was in stock and they took a day to build picked up the next day and they kindly offered help to get it in the back of my car. Having purchased 3 bikes in the last 18 months I have nothing but praise for this store. The staff are friendly & helpful & the range of bikes & equipment is excellent. My most recent purchase, my first road bike, was a bit of a risk given a back problem that I have but the member of staff advised on which bikes may suite & even allowed me a test ride on their bike to see how it felt. Well 7 weeks down the line the advise was spot on, the new bike has now had its free first service & is riding as sweet as a nut so a big thank you to the sales & workshop staff for a job well done & making me a very happy cyclist!

Went in on black friday,thinking I had an idea of what I wanted...turns out I didn't have a clue! Spoke to James,no pressure,knew his stuff.Asked what sort of cycling I did,wanted to do and established a MTB was best for my needs.Tried out 3 brands of bike but I was still not sure which one to choose? Thought about it over the weekend and went back in on the monday,prices were still discounted which gave me more choice and option of a better bike within my budget.This time I spoke to Byron,very helpful,nothing too much trouble,explained in more detail as this time was going to make my mind up.With accessories all chosen, he said the bike would be ready to pick up by the weekend,I picked it up on the friday. Went back the following day as I had chosen wrong size crash hat,which Byron had told me large was wrong but I didn't listen,changed for XL no issues.Bring it back in a month and we will check it over, make sure it is all as should be. Excellent customer service, would highly recommend them if you are looking for a new bike!!

We brought 2 Cube electric bikes from Hargroves in October 2018, we received fantastic service from the guys there especially Gavin. They were extremely knowledgeable and we are really pleased with them. We took them back yesterday for their 6 week free check and they installed a Bosch Nyon onto my husbands bike, this was his surprise Christmas present and the guys kept the secret from him aswell!!! They also helped us set it up too. Thank you so much for your great service.

Here is why I love having this shop so close...and also why I would travel to come here... this is a typical experience I have at this shop - and have been visiting regularly since I bought my Cube Mountain Bike there 18 months ago: I called in the morning to ask for a specific brake pad for my bike to replace one which I had lost the night earlier. I had a weekend of riding planned so desperately needed the part. The assistant answered the phone, took my query but also advised she was with a customer but would call me back if that was ok...she called me back within 5 minutes with the answers to everything. Later that day I wheeled my bike, a different sales person approached me but was aware I had called...on inspection we realised I needed an additional part to secure the pads...no problem, he wheeled my bike to the workshop. Unfortunately the workshop didn't have anything spare, so he wheeled the bike back up. He discussed with the manager of the store and another, both were quickly looking into some other boxes and found exactly what was needed. The part was fitted before my bike wheeled back down to the workshop to bleed my brakes and check everything out (something I hadn't requested at all)...it came back again with everything resolved and leaving me able to enjoy the weekend. My point? more than one person here had gone far beyond my expectations and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone there was chatting to me etc and made me feel that nothing was too much trouble. These people may work in a shop but their love for all things cycling and all people getting out on a bike (no matter what type of bike) is evident. This was one instance, I could write about many more...

Bought a new saddle from them recently, which turned out to be unsuitable. I took it back and a refund was gladly given. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. Will definitely use this branch rather than the one in Millbrook in the future.

I had an issue with a mountain bike, bought only 3 weeks ago. The teams response was superb and a brilliant example of why we should buy bikes from shops like Hargroves and not buy on line to save a few pounds.

I discussed with the Totton manager on the phone the sort of bike (carbon framed, Di2 road bike for about £3K) I wanted and then visited the shop. As promised, two bikes (a Stevens Zenon and a Bianchi) in my size had been assembled ready for me. Unlike other shops, Hargroves encouraged me to take the bikes out of the shop and road test them. After doing so for about an hour I decided to buy the Stevens. Hargroves set the bike up for me (including adjusting the reach on the brake levers) and I took it away the same day. I was very pleased with this level of customer care. That was in May 2012. Since then the Hargroves workshop has serviced the bike (I'm very pleased with the Stevens) and also replaced the Di2 battery (which stopped holding its charge) under warranty without charge. My overall impression is very good and I would consider buying another bike from them.
