Best cycle shop in Southampton. I arrived just before closing time, but all the staff still made time for me and did some fixes for me way after closing time. The price was also crazy good for all fixes and new parts! Massive thank you to Izzy, who spent the time to fix my bike and was super kind and helpful. I’ve been to all of the cycle shops in the city centre, but now I’ll definitely be coming to this one every time. Thanks so much guys!

Have bought several bikes here and spares for other bikes, always excellent quality, knowledgeable and friendly service at a fair price. Bike services always make my bike feel brand new again! Very happy to support this local business, yes you can get slightly cheaper parts on the internet, but if this shop closed it would be a real shame!!

Fantastic service and very knowledgeable On day 1 of a 3 day ride to Paris I had two serious mechanical failures despite a recent full service by a Bristol bike shop. These failures would have resulted in the abandonment of my ride but I made my way to The Hub Cycleworks that I saw on google. The service was fantastic. They took the bike straight away and checked it through. They replaced a key part and fixed both problems. The staff were friendly and very accommodating as well as explaining the problem and what was fixed. All this for a very low cost. Thanks to the team at The Hub Cycleworks I was on my way in half an hour and able to complete my journey. If I lived in Southampton I would be using The Hub Cycleworks as my main bike shop going forward. Thank you team at The Hub Cycleworks and I highly recommend this place to anyone whether you have a one off issue or looking for a good place for regular bike maintenance in Southampton

Unfortunately I’ve had to change my review the initial service was great but follow up has been appalling. Six months on still waiting for tyre protection at least 4 phone calls and no responses so don’t trust them if they promise things as my experience is they don’t shame really bike is good. After this review I was contacted and the matter dealt with, I was sad it took the review to do this because of the first experience being so good. However the issue is now resolved and it could have just been a one off (I hope so) so I have increased the rating again! (It was 5 then 1 and now 4) the bike is still 👍

I ordered a bike through the cycle to work scheme from The Hub and they were very helpful and knowledgeable from the outset. Helped me organise everything, sorted out a minor issue with the invoice which added a few days but not their fault as the organisation dragged their heels signing it off. Organised the bike and the extras I wanted and phoned me to let me know when it had been built, all put together with the extras I wanted. Paperwork and collection all sorted in no time. One minor issue is there was a valve cap missing but I have several spare so not a big thing. Very friendly and helpful staff, great store.

Went above and beyond to get hold of a mountain bike I wanted for me during the first lockdown and delivered it with no extra charge. The staff are all real cyclists, it's impossible to leave without having a chat about something. Repair service excellent, they fixed an issue entirely of my own creation the day after my email and gave me some great advice, they won't sell you any parts you don't need.

Great service on my bike. They serviced the cassette and the brakes for a reasonable price. They are really knowledgeable and explain in details what they have done on your bike. I felt they really care about the customer! Let's support the independent shops instead of the big chains! ✌️

Popped in last week to look for some parts for my next bike packing tour. Received some great advice regarding going clipless on my next trip and picked up a few accessories to keep me going. Will call in again next time I’m in the city.

Brilliant! My daughter had outgrown her Frog bike and having had great service from The Hub Cycleworks before we naturally returned. Their knowledge is excellent and they spent lots of time with my daughter discussing what she wanted and then letting her try different bikes. Some of which they said wouldn't be suitable as standard because the handle bars were too wide etc. but also that they could shorten them etc. Eventually we found the perfect bike. So it was ordered and then for no extra charge it was delivered to us even though we are outside their normal delivery zone. if you want a bike from someone who actually cares that you get a bike that's right for you then go to the Hub Cycleworks. Great Service, Great knowledge, Great bikes and great price. What's not to love!

So grateful to Adam and Morgan. My bike was in need of a service and I had taken it to other repair shops and been let down. Was reluctant at first but they collected my bike and repaired it in such a quick time that I was amazed. Awesome team. Had to call them out for a puncture and they were there 30 minutes later. Perfect team for people who don’t have the time or knowledge of how to fix their bikes.

Fantastic service. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Needed a spacer for a 7 speed to put it on a 8-10 hub for converting my old bike from freewheel to hub to get a better ratio selection on my turbo trainer without having to replace the shifters ect. Gave me everything i needed :)

Came in today and last week asking advice on gravel bikes. Lauren was fantastic and answered all my questions and went out of her way to print off an info sheet, as it was a lot to take in (didn't even have to ask) whilst I was browsing. She also very kindly fitted some new brake pads on my wife's bike whilst we waited. The shop has a great selection of gravel bikes including trek and whyte and, I'll be back in the next few weeks when I've decided which model of the 'trek checkpoint' I would like. Fantastic bike shop, and brilliant customer service from Lauren. Morgan was also good when I came in the other day as well.

Went here for a rear wheel "true" as, after an accident, got Halfords to replace the rear rim that had been buckled and they had left the wheel unsafe and "wobbly". I didn't want to go back to Halfords in East London so popped into the HUB. What a breath of fresh air, got a hub service, new rear wheel, inner tube swap and front hub service, (as the quick release wheel nut was faulty) for about £50 quid. So happy now as my bike is running true, in addition the young engineer also straightened a number of other things that had gone wonky after my crash without me asking. Seemed like the old days when someone just took pleasure in their work and "did a thorough job". I highly recommend this place, my 25 year old Kastle is now in a fit state to take me around Europe next month, well chuffed!

Many thanks to all at The Hub for their care and attention sorting out my very tiredTrek Domane. They were very quick, accommodating and not least very reasonably priced. The only dissappointment was I had reconciled myself to having to upgrade it to a newer version but now I can not justify it as it purrs along! Any one wanting a long distance bike should try a Domane, they are very comfortable, I have clocked up 10,000 + miles on mine

My hand built bike had been away at another well known car spares "bike servicers" for 3 weeks. After they were "unable" to diagnose a problem with my LX deore shifters, I took it straight to Barney and the team at The Hub. They not only sorted the problem in under an hour, but they undercut the price quoted by the other "experts"!

The owner of the hub contacted me the same day I wrote this review and was very concerned about the situation, I have since been back into the store and had a COMPLETELY different experience! We were at the brilliant Big Bike Bash at the weekend when the worst happened on the gravity track, Frank tipped off and smashed his helmet to pieces injuring his shoulder badly. By the time we got back to the site from the hospital the next day Mr Amazing Clark from the Hub Cycle Works had organised a new, smashproof excellent style 'Giro' helmet for Frank for next time the worst happens. THANK YOU and see you next year at the Big Bike Bash 2016, when we will be re-stocking our cycle kit from your stand.
