Very nice farm shop and cafe. Had to wait 45 minutes for a seat in cafe it was so busy, so obviously pretty well liked 👍 we had a toasted tea cake for my son which he enjoyed, a piece of carrot cake and cappuccino for myself which was good homemade quality and my wife had poached eggs on toast which she enjoyed. I think next time I'll make sure I book. Look forward to trying the big breakfast as it looked delicious 😋

Sweet little farm shop with an excellent cafe at the back. We sat outside for coffee and cake, which was delicious, thoroughly recommend. Planes fly quite low overhead going to/from Birmingham which can be quite loud! The farm shop itself has a good range of bread/cakes/meat/cheese etc, all quite expensive but on par with average farm shop prices.

excellent cafe with friendly helpful staff. The locally made quiche was delicious. We also spent a lot of time browsing the farmshop. So many delicious treats, we came away with a bag full of goodies, as well as some basic fruit and veg. A good size carpark and some outside seating.

Lovely cafe, calming atmosphere with beautiful food and friendly staff. Really pretty view over the fields from the large panoramic window. Table reservations in the cafe seemed clear and there was a clever little system via a blackboard letting customers know when the cafe had reached capacity. The farm shop itself is well presented and tidy. A great selection of of goods and it is lovely to see local produce on the shelves. Also lots of parking. A great expirence all round.

This is a lovely farm shop well stocked with great products. They also sell so really good local foods really worth a look around. They also have a cafe so you can enjoy a breakfast or just a drink and cake, with seating inside and outside. The staff where really friendly and helpful worth a visit.

Mighty oak breakfast was a sight to behold, for one who has been out of the UK for months. And one who enjoys a proper breakfast from time to time. All components well cooked and clearly from excellent sources. Delicious and flavoursome, couldn't fault it, just bring an appetite!

3 stars for the location and farm shop that would be higher if it wasn’t for the cafe. No kids menu at all, great breakfast menu but let down by a very poor all day menu consisting of very little choice and lack of variety in the specials. The food itself is just fine where more advantage could be taken of all the local produce. Oh and toilet hand dryers are like being dried by the wings of a ladybird. Could be much better.

A very local cafe and farm shop. Excellent range of food for sale and friendly staff. I wish there was more outdoor seating for dog walkers as dogs are not allowed in the indoor area which is understandable but also not allowed in the fenced outdoor area which is more difficult to understand. A bit of an own goal in an area full of dog walkers! So far just 2 tables available for dog walkers but these were occupied by cylclists when we last visited.

We both really enjoyed our Farmer's breakfasts in the cafe (with extra black pudding on mine of course). The food was all served quickly and was very tasty. You can see why the sausages and bacon are award winning - we even got some to bring home with us from the farm shop. Along with the food, my coffee was good too. Overall I'd very highly recommend if you're looking for breakfast in the local area.

An excellent farm shop with extensive produce for sale. Much, but not all, is either locally reared or locally produced. Good parking with provision for the disabled. Uniquely, this shop has stayed open right through the coronavirus period in 2020. Given four stars only because prices are higher than local high streets.

We went for a pleasant lunch yesterday. The service and the food were excellent. The only problem was that, as it was so popular ( there were only 2 tables available when we arrived), I found it hard to hear my friends sitting opposite me, so the accoustics are a little difficult. The harder it is to hear the more people shout to be heard..... However we had a lovely time and browsed the succulent local goodies for sale in the shop. I would recommend this.

This is a big farm shop located on the outskirts of Balsall Common. It looks relatively new. There is a big car park so no problems on busier days. Inside there is lots on offer. Apart for the usual fresh produce, meat, vegetables, etc., there are also some pre-made meals using some of the fresh produce, so that is nice for those who have less time to spend on preparation. There is a large cafe within the shop area. This was quite busy when we visited, but we still got service. The food was served hot and was quite nice. Decent value for money.

Have loved going here for years, and the staff are lovely. However over the last year or so the food portion sizes in the cafe have dramatically reduced....fine for me but not for others I am with. Today I just had toast and it was the cheapest sliced loaf you can get, very disappointing.

Quality meat and cakes and other goodies are on offer here, 3 for £10 on meat trays offers reasonable value too. The cakes are rich and moist. I've tried the cafe several times, it's ok, decent quality produce used again but I find for the price the portions could be slightly larger for my liking, and the presentation smartened up If it's been helpful hit like please!

We enjoyed an excellent breakfast for four on a busy bank holiday. Service was very good and, considering how busy the place was, our meals arrived quickly. As usual in such places, there were acres of bare walls and floor so it was noisy but we were able to hold a conversation without too much trouble. I suppose my only criticism is a backhanded compliment: the full English breakfasts were so large that a bigger plate would have been a good idea as there was little space to work on the those provided. Nevertheless the plates were hot so the generous amounts of food on the plates were still warm when I got to the final forkful. Hopefully I will have another chance to eat here.

Polite staff. The restaurant can be a bit hit and miss, but uses quality ingredients. The farm shop part of the business has lovely food, but at eye watering prices (in my opinion). I guess it depends wether you feel the price is worth the quality. (It's right at the upper end of what I find acceptable, but, I guess that's the businesses aim)

Whenever we visit family in England we have to come to Oakes Farm Shop for Lunch or Brunch. The food is always good and so fresh. I have had an assortment of quiches, English Breakfasts, and many other meals with Sausage and recommend them all. Things can get busy - so make sure to call ahead and get a table.

Excellent Farm shop to buy quality, fresh, organic meats and vegetables, the cakes are awesome and I treat myself to their breakfast once a month. Highly recommend a visit, try the marinaded chicken legs, you will taste the difference in quality. I took my daughters there this morning and they loved the breakfast and the window seats looking out onto countryside makes for a good experience.

Nice place for a visit and a coffee but the quality of the food is very variable. I had a ploughmans which was quite nice. One of us had the pulled pork which tasted very nice and another had the lasagne which was very poor. It looked microwave burned, was bone-dry with no evident bechamel sauce or tomato . The meat tasted quite nice as a stand-alone mince, but not as a lasagne! The prices in the shop are, well, farm-shop prices. Definitely a mixed bag.

Chased it up, and it soon arrived but the jacket potato was tepid at best, and my ham and pickle sandwich appeared to be a kids size portion... not the best. I get it was busy, but from what other people have said about this place I was expecting bigger things.

Fabulous shop, impressive deli & meat counter. Cafe however very disappointing! Needs some attention to detail and I’m really hoping these reviews are read and action is taken having just moved to the area would love to frequent but improvements are very much needed! We ordered two quiche which arrived cold in the middle and very hot on the outside - very unappetising! They were taken away and blitzed in the microwave......the quiche was great quality just executed very badly!!! The children’s menu could also do with some work - half portions of lasagne and pasta etc would be great.... We were categorically told this was not an option! Then we had two scones - no offer to have these warmed up which makes such a difference to a scone experience. In addition to this the clotted cream and Jam were both clearly just taken straight from a very cold fridge so again lovely produce ruined by the execution in the cafe! Please look into how your food is presented and delivered in the cafe!! This could so easily be a 5* cafe and I really want to visit regularly but things need to improve

I love this place. It’s a fantastic country location to come and have food. The food is next to none on quality even if it is a little more pricey than other similar locations but I think we would say it’s more than worth the money. (Translated) Farm shop and cafe, busy business! Meat looked good as did the vegetables - it was that we didn't need anything and came for coffee. With a cookie, they were soooooooo sweet - we had enough sugar for the rest of the day 😅 (Original) Boerderij winkel en café, druk lopende zaak! Vlees zag er goed uit evenals de groente - het was dat we niks nodig hadden en voor koffie kwamen. Met daarbij een koekje, die waren zoooooooo zoet - de rest van de dag hadden we genoeg suiker 😅
