Really lovely butcher's, and the meat I purchased is excellent quality and super fresh. Edit: unfortunately when I went back a few weeks ago, the meat I purchased was bad and I had to bin it the day after purchase. It had already gone off ☹️. However this is not something that happened before with this butcher so hopefully doesn't happen again.

Fantastic local butcher,feels more old school than the modern fancy Dan ones and all the better for it,prices are very reasonable and the sausages are the best I have ever had but my favourite was some Turkish kebabs they made which tasted out of this world on the bbq

As a retired nurse who has worked in many countries for 40 years, I am so very very very impressed with the kindness and beyond the call of duty customer service the manager and his staff has shown me and my husband. All their products are superb and I think Billings Butcher is a showcase example of the finest shop you can find in the UK.

The best, most reliable butcher on any high street. The staff are so friendly and know their stuff, recommending certain a cuts of meat depending on how you plan to cook it. Haven’t bought supermarket meat or eggs in years!

I've been using this as my default butcher(and fishmonger) since they opened. I've never had a substandard piece of meat in all that time. They are extremely knowledgeable about cuts of meat and, if you require them, cooking suggestions. They will take their time over you and this is what makes a great artisanal shop. Their fish, pro rata, is a tad dearer than the meat but not overly so, and much cheaper than the fish shop in East Dulwich (surprise, surprise!), and the guys will cheerfully fillet and do whatever you require. Excellent local shop that I'm proud to support.

We used to live in Bell Green, when there was a mere Savacentre before the shopping centre as we know it, was built and moved to Croydon. We used to know all the local shops. Although we still live in Croydon we are back and Billings is the reason why. My husband and I were blown away, lovely fresh produce (the eggs were huge!!!), the sausage and bacon was fab and the beef was tender when cooked. The shop itself was clean and spacious and I had to restrain myself from wanting to buy too much. And the service...well we were served by a young man who was so polite and well spoken I had to let him know how amazing I thought he was. Old fashioned service with a smile. This will now be our regular butchers I am willing to face all the planters and one way streets to get there.

A fantastic local butcher and fishmonger. Started coming here due to pandemic and we’ll never return to the supermarkets for our meat and fish as quality and choice here is so superior. Great group of guys work here - friendly banter always brightens up our Saturday.

This is the best butchers and fish monger I have ever been to. The staff are so lovely and attentive to customers - very knowledgable of products (including cooking methods). The quality of the products is fantastic and always consistent. I recently celebrated thanksgiving and was blown away by the care and presentation the butcher put in to preparing a huge bacon wrapped turkey crown. He also walked me through step by step the process of cooking it. 10/10 service and always a delight to shop at Billing's

Superb local butcher and fishmonger, selling a great variety of meats, poultry, fresh fish, cheeses, and frozen fish. I cannot recommend their Piri-Piri chicken pieces enough, I often buy everything they've got to freeze and have through the week. Eggs, condiments, recipe books, pies, and a smattering of other items stocked. Worth popping in to see. You always get a friendly, professional service and they are always ready to help you with any questions or special requests.

After being recommended by a friend, I went to Billings butchers. I was pleasantly surprised to find, not only a first class traditional butchers but an excellent fishmongers too, almost other products. I bought a large chicken which was very succulent.Also T- bone steak- most ended. I will always buy my meat from Billings now and fish too. Staff are so friendly. Thankyou Billings for restoring traditional values back to the high street.

I have been buying my meat and fish from Billing's since it first opened, and I have never been disappointed. The quality of their produce is always excellent, and customers know exactly where it was sourced from - in terms of their meat, sometimes the very farm. Totally open, totally honest. The staff are friendly and competent with the skills to prepare meat and fish just as you want it (even if you don't really know what that is). It is, in fact, a 'proper' fishmonger's and butcher's - a local, family-run business that cannot do enough for its customers. And they now do bread too! And eggs, and pasta, and cheese, and yummy pickles, and stock, and loads of other stuff. What's not to love? Thank you, Billings! Roll on Christmas!

They are on of the best butchers I have used. They have some of the best T-Bone steaks I can get in London. We have bought meat and fish from them for the last 6 years living in the area. I don't think it was fair of the them getting 1 star. I am sure they would would have replaced the chicken within a heart beat.

This place is excellent! I visit it every two weeks to stock up. Extremely reasonably priced and the staff are very helpful, all very friendly and more than happy to answer my silly questions about various types of meat and fish. They have a massive selection of meats, I highly recommend the triple smoked bacon. Their fish counter is excellent also, the staff are all very skilled at preparing the fish so I can just throw it into a pan and cook it. They are much better at descaling and filleting fish than Saibsburys just up the road. I have used many butchers in the past, inside and outside of London, and I can honestly say this is the best one I have come across. If you're going past Sydenham, I highly recommend dropping in! P.S. it's difficult to find a decent butchers that sells pork in SE London, but this place has all the types of meat you can want!

I go there often since 2014 for the oysters. These are fresh affordable and lovingly opened for you at a certain rate, before by another and now by someone else. However, since I am a regular customer I would have appreciated a "regular customer package price" when I buy them opened- a small reduction in price would encourage me to come even more 😏 I use to open them myself but I have a problem with my wrist bone. Ive had bad experience with the beef steak as it was smelling too strong and could not eat, but thats just me because everyone else love their steaks.

I have been going to Billings since 2011, I can’t fault them at all..... till last week for the first time in 8 year I had a small problem, with my order. HOWEVER resolved quickly with out an issues. They make boereworse for me in the past with out any issues. The owner, is a top guy. He will do anything keep his customers happy.

I've been going there since it opened - apart from excellent meat and fish , they make their own sausages and - my personal favourite do brilliant ham - thick as you like . They are nice people and they know what they are doing . Nigel the Ham Man
