A real proper butcher's. They've got good quality meat and a bunch of expertise - they're very happy to advise you! Their cooked pies etc are great, and their selection of marinaded kebabs etc are hard to resist! Yes, they're often very busy, often with large catering orders - but they're in demand because they're so good. One of my favourite butcher's shops anywhere.

I love this place! I bought some ribs and they were so good I have to write a review. The guys here were so helpful and gave me advice on the best way to cook them. I definitely recommend to anyone that wants the best meat in town. One very happy customer indeed :)

My favourite butchers in SW. Happy to drive 20 minutes away from home each time to shop with them. The staff are always lovely and friendly even when I ask lots of questions. Thank you Shane for helping me request and Mark for making the Scottish lorn sausage for us even though this is something you only make during the colder months. The Scotsman at home is very happy. Also thank you (other) Mark for giving me cooking tips! You guys are a wonderful team. You know you’re shopping at a serious butcher when they make their own dripping and broth. I've had lots of Chadwicks Butchers meat over the last few years and its always been impeccable, high quality and the staff and Gary are genuinely helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to help with advice and tips, even providing recipe ideas and cooking tips. The meat has always been very tasty and tender and often ground breaking with new ideas such as the black treacle bacon which i've never seen anywhere else and tastes amazing! I would recommend you try Chadwicks Butchers if you are looking for a high quality butcher and a friendly knowledgeable service.

I absolutely love Chadwicks. All the staff are so helpful and even tell you how to cook the meat and what to use with it. Even when I've gone in there at the end of the day when they are about to shut and asked them for some chicken they go into the back and get it for me. Nothing is too much trouble! Thank god we have a local butcher!

They were helpful and polite on the phone but I must admit, their prices do seem high. I was quoted £50 for a 500g beef wellington for two people (500g). I compared this with Waitrose and HG Walter both at £35 (400g) and it seems about £10 overpriced unfortunately.

A very good local butcher. A very wide variety of hanging beef, cured pork and a great selection of pies and rolls. Butchers will cut and trim anything to the customers request, and will answer and questions you have. They also make their own black pudding which is very good.

Almost the only place I will buy meat. All top quality organic and free range with knowledgeable and friendly staff happy to answer questions. Great range of cheeses, home made pies, eggs and other produce that are all always first class. Really couldn't ask for more from a butchers.

If you're willing to pay a little extra, it's miles better than buying watery meat from Sainsbury's and Waitrose. Queues on Saturday are usually out of the door. As you'd expect with a butcher they know their stuff.

Don't go with a plan. Some cuts are double or triple what they should be (shoulder of pork for example) while others seems to be on special offer and are quite reasonable (venison in the most recent case).
