T. W.Good quality and tasty food. Streaky bacon cut by hand. Very polite staff. More expensive than the supermarket but much better and a worthwhile treat.
A. P.I have become a regular customer thanks to the pandemic and never regretted it. Top-quality meat, friendly and efficient service. I never had to queue longer than 5 minutes and yes, it's cash only but there are 3 ATMs in a 50-metre radius. Had all types of meat and they are all outstanding, but I go primarily for been steak (rump/sirloin) and farm sausages. So lucky I live just down the road!
J. D.Have shopped at this butchers since Ken was behind the counter. Many years now and Dan and the guys are really good. They know about meat. The source is known and I have never had a reason to complain. What you have to realise is that you are shopping at an independent butchers. They go to the wholesale markets and prices will fluctuate. They aren't screwing farmers like the supermarkets are. I now can't eat supermarket poultry because of flavour. Seek their advice, shop according to the season. This is shopping like my mother and grandmother did.
M. M.Great service and top quality meat. Love a bit of cheeky banter with these hard working butchers! Been my local butcher for more than 13 years. I could go on forever listing all the amazing products but my personal favourites are the Pork & Apple sausages, Rib of Beef and rolled Brisket.
In the midst of the Coronavirus panic buying spree, I witnessed new customers turn up here, push in, “demand” things they couldn’t find in the supermarkets and reach over to pick up the meat from the display window then put it back. Rude and Shocking!! If you are respectful and ask politely you will get a great service in return.

J. B.Yet again John Charles have done us proud. The Christmas turkey was beautiful and our New Year's eve stay at home fillet steaks were melt in the mouth. I think the steaks have made the top ten of the best steaks I've ever eaten with the rest of the top ten being made up of other John Charles fillets steaks and Buenos Aires ribeye. Thank you John Charles.
p.s. Please ignore the reviews by those people who expect supermarket shelves in a local butcher. It is well advertised that turkeys should be pre-ordered and not all cuts of meat will be available all the time.

Very professional and great with various novice meat cooking queries. More importantly, it's absolutely wonderful quality meat, far superior to any supermarket products I've tasted.
