This place has been my go to supplier for meat for years. Having worked around the corner a few years ago introduced me to the Boys and their products and I never looked back ever since. This is the only place I buy meat and even though I don't work or live in the area anymore I stock up on essentials on a bimonthly basis (yes, my freezer contains pretty much nothing else apart from meat). The quality is amazing but what's even better is their prices. You get a real value and if you buy bigger packages it's cheaper than the supermarket (and definitely better quality). All their meats are organic, free range and/or grass fed and if they don't have something you can order some for later (you can also call them and ask them to make sure they have the needed item on your next visit). They also do deliveries which is a great addition in lockdown. You have to order minimum £50 worth but if you buy your meat the way I do it (for months ahead) then it's not an issue. Overall I'm really happy that I found this place all those years ago. For someone who eats meat on a daily basis (a meal is not a meal without meat - sorry not sorry, that's my upbringing) this place is the BEST! I hope they'll be there for a long long time because I'm not planning on buying meat from anywhere else ever again. :)

Previously a fan, but they sold me a big pile of bad rump steaks on Monday and knocked down my opinion by 2 stars. First, the good: they're open very early in the morning, they stock a wide variety of cuts and package sizes, and they'll customize to your needs. I've had very good sausages and short ribs from them more than once. However, this week I went to buy some good quality steak to put in a fancy chili, and they sold me £30 worth of rump. It looked a little deep red rather than bright, but I assumed it was good. When I got home, the steaks on top had turned greyish and felt a little slick, but I assumed it was just a bit of oxidation and starting searing them before putting them in the chili. I tried a piece after searing and had to spit it out in the trash. Other pieces were no better - they all had that excessively gamey off-flavor I associate with meat that's turned. I don't know what happened here, but I may shy away from Smithfield in favor of Turner & George; the latter is definitely more expensive, but I've had nothing but top quality from them.

No doubt the team Morale and Consistency a Contributer in what this Butcher Produces every day as nothing is too much trouble.. Amazing quality meat at great price, been a loyal customers for over 1.5 years now as I was working nearby - now I work from home. Since the pandemic started, they launched an online shop, so I stick with big deliveries every 4-5 months and freeze the meat. Exceptional T-Bones, fillet steaks, chickens and everything they do; they can cut the sizes you ask for and you can ask for any cuts of meat you want. The team is super efficient, helpful, knowledgeable and always smiley!

Always lovely staff. The quality of meat is amazing. This place is an absolute must for buying meat, totally fresh, the price of everything is totally worth the money. There are amazing deals (three trays of products, for the price of two). for special occasions, or making smaller joints. The beef rolled Aberdeen Angus has always wowed everyone who has enjoyed it. I bought 2.8kg of beef mince for £10. The butcher with surprise and smile on his face said: i've never seen anyone so happy about mince meat :D I'll never forget it :D I made huge lasagne and it was the best lasagne I've ever tasted.

Had an awesome experience here, met a bunch of friendly seasoned butchers and a young lady too, all of them very busy but were still able to chat. I bought a load of Argentine Ribeye recommended by Trevor and it was amazing I bought about 13 kilos to take back to base. I also bought 5kg of Tomahawk and some Lamb chops, all excellently well priced, didn't go anywhere else in the market, quite frankly I got better than what I was expecting so didn't need to!........Did I mention the Argentine Ribeye?😄

Only butchers we go to and buy alot at a time all family packs no family too small as they have packets for a big or small family big or small roasts, Stews, sauages and bacon for breakfast!! A butcher right across the street from Smithfield Meat Market - which is the largest in the UK and one of the largest in Europe - not sure if I need to say much more? The butchers are very friendly, know their stuff and seem to like questions and recommendation requests. These chaps do trade/industry customers, but the store front is based on the busy walk up business by regular customers like you and me. You get a far shorter supply chain without the mass processing centres (and what can go along with that), and the meat sold here is handpicked by an expert butcher and cut in-store which delivers superior quality meat. They have a large selection of meats, and not all of it is on display, so ask if you don't see it. As you can imagine, cutting out several 'middle-men' also means all those saved margins are passed onto you. They also do sell small portions, if you want a skirt of beef, or two t-bone steaks, a single medium chicken, etc. But I've always bought in bulk (2-5kg), then divided it into single meal portions and then into the freezer, and suggest this for maximum savings and minimal trips to Smithfield Butchers. For example, large, good quality skinless, boneless chicken breasts here cost about the same as the basic brands of big name grocers which are small, pumped full of water and inferior quality. The 'steak meats' (e.g. rib eye, fillets, sirloin) are about half the price of big name grocers, and since you're buying a 1-4kg slab, you can cut your steak as thick as you want! Some of the best steaks I've had came from Smithfield Butchers, and the best Christmas Turkey ever! If you can make it to Smithfield Meat Market, this one is a no-brainer.

Right in front of Smithfield Meat Market, the quality of meat you get here is great at reasonable prices. Much better than getting up at 3am to go get meat at Smithfield!
