Update: Every time I drive pass here the forecourt of this place is backed up with cars. I’ve now decided to use another garage. Took my old car to the St Phillips Branch many times and was always happy with the service. Got a new car that now needs looking at, been calling for the past three days so eventually had to go there the other day in person. What’s happened to the older guy on reception, have they changed management? I notice a lot of bad reviews lately so somethings changed? Anyone know?

This Garage really helped us out at last minute, our car tyre was about to blow and and we were travelling to go on holidays and had kids in the car, 2 hours before all garages were due to close, this was the only garage that would change our tyre without an appointment and had our size tyre in stock eithin the Bristol area. Booked via 3rd party, called to confirm time and details. After arriving and walking around for 1.5 hours, I was told that a booking for a different car was made, and that no work had been done. I went for my MOT at Formula One in my little Hyundai. I go here every year because they're so efficient and helpful. I was greeted by the friendly guy on reception, who seems to do a lot of other stuff there as well. After checking in I had about an hour or less to wait before it was all finished. There's a good sized waiting room with a toilet too. I thoroughly recommend this place, and they do all sorts of other car related things such a batteries, tyres, servicing etc. Will be returning to get my car serviced there soon.

Brilliant service always! I had to have my exhaust done was told my car will be ready Sunday.A few hours later I got a call to inform me my car was ready, he managed to get the parts quickly and did the job straight away even though 3 of his staff had covid, so that was half his staff out sick!!! I'm not normally somebody who leaves reviews, however I have been using F1 religiously since I first dealt with them a few years ago, despite them being a bit out of my way. They have always given exemplary service, and the manager Martin always goes out of his way to explain things to you, even though he's normally very busy. I took a previous car in with 3 slow punctures (nails on my driveway from some local building work) and I had booked my car in for 3 new tyres. I arrived early and they saw my car within minutes, and quickly explained that I didn't need new tyres but that they could repair the slow punctures, and that would last the full life of the tyre. They saved me hundreds of £s when they could have easily charged me for 3 tyres. Since then I have used them many times and I have always experienced very good service, all the staff work hard to see as many customers as possible in the time they have and have always gone out of their way to save me money where possible. I cannot recommend them enough and I am shocked to see some bad reviews. Hopefully anybody who reads this has a similar experience to me 👍🏻

They were easy to arrange times with and were very accommodating when I forgot my initial time; moreover, when the work I required couldn't be done by them they were good to suggest where I could go rather than sending me onto the mechanic wilderness. Amazing service! Booked my car in for MOT and master service, I was informed throughout the day of what needed doing but also not pushed into anything. When I picked up my car, there was a detailed list of what was found and this was explained to me along with honest advice that I wouldn't need it done for about 7-8 months. Original Review (updated below): Terrible. Arrived on time for my tyre fitting appointment, which was booked online one week beforehand. I was told that no one was in yet to fit the tyres. Left the car with them and 20 minutes later I was informed over the phone that no one would be coming in, and I should come and collect my car. Update: After posting the above review, I was contacted by the area manager and offered a partial refund by way of an apology. I was impressed that my review was taken seriously. Based on the successful fitting the following weekend, the apology, and the refund, I have increased the review from 1 to 4 stars. Impressed.

I booked and paid for an Air-con re-gas online for the following morning. I phoned the branch in the morning to see what time would be best to bring it in. The manager was extremely polite and helpful. Took the car in at 10.15 am, and it was done by 11.30am. The mechanic that did the work was extremely friendly and polite. Overall it was a totally painless procedure. This new manager is excellent and the branch is obviously working hard to shrug off some of the bad reviews from the previous staff. Keep doing what your'e doing guys!......Oh, and they were the cheapest too!

Excellent service from profession staff !!! Who don't try the hard sell tactic of saying you need x or y done. The advice they do give is in plain English not wrapped up in terms you would need a mechanic to understand. Workshop & waiting room is clean & tidy. Very happy with the work done. Recently had the two front tyres changed at KwikFit, who told me the alignment was out, and I needed to spend £60 to sort it. I looked at the numbers and wasn't convinced. I declined, and the guy made me feel like I was being an idiot. Skip on 4 weeks, and went to F1 to get the rears done. They did this quickly, and checked the alignment of all wheels too (free check). The F1 guy showed me the report, and said its all fine, well within tolerances. Just as I had suspected! Thank you F1 for not charging me for unnecessary work! Very happy.

They're rushed off their feet but are still very accommodating. Noticeably better at balancing wheels than one of their local competitors (and better than their Longwell Green branch). There was a small hold up at the reception when I arrived, the gentleman was polite and apologised I was in for a tyre change and it did take longer than I expected. The plastic that they put on the seat and paper on the floor was left for me to dispose of I was notified about 2 of my tyres that also need to be replaced, but there was no pressure on me to have it done there and then. I forgot to leave my locking wheel nut out, no one came and asked me where it was just went through my car until they found it, which I wasn’t very happy about.

Bristol branch - I went in this morning wih a broken car. It needed a new battery and alternator. I always go here as they're great. Nathan said it could take a few days to fix. I received a call at 5pm today to be told they've done the car already, Nathan overheard me worrying about not being able to get work and wanted to get the car done for me as soon as. Just been to this place by chance on route back from work. Had a flat tyre on my Corsa and thought I made need a new one/slow Puncture. They were just closing but it wasn’t an issue, very very friendly, efficient, lovely and helpful. They found no puncture and pumped my tyre up for free. Just ok really. It took an hour and a half to fit the tyres despite me booking an exact slot. This is too long really. Then at the end they tried to sell me an £89 wheel allignmnent which I got for half the price elsewhere and was told it wasn't really needed. Will try somewhere else next time.

Absolutely brilliant. I needed to get back to Kent and around 4ish I went out to the car park at my clients and noticed a flat/punctured tyre. I called up F1 and they were able to fit me in quickly and had the continental tyres I desperately needed in stock. I drove with a flat tyre for about 5 minutes to reach F1 who were able to sort me out quickly and had me on my way back in no time! Excellent customer service, excellent job on my tyres. Cheers!!

As usual, you have a long wait. It's annoying everytime. I book in advance on line and pay in full, select your time slot (1:30) and you turn up 5 minutes early and are told there is a 2 hour wait? That's the second time they have done that to me. Other people seem to be treated the same way while I was there. What's the point of having a set time if the customer is the only one bound by it?. Service and price were good once I was seen but come on, get a grip and sort this out.

I went to do my MOT, it failed and Nathan which I believe was the manager tried to correct it the same day however they couldn't. I explained that I had my gender reveal party/ baby shower 4 days later so he booked me in 2 days afterward to fix it. On Thursday, I came back & Nathan told me that they were really busy as 3 people called in sick but promised he will fix my car so my MOT could pass & he will make sure that it will be ready before my gender reveal party /baby shower the following Saturday. He kept his promised! I was so relieved and felt that he went above & beyond. When I was leaving with my car, Nathan told me that I will be having a boy & I am happy to say I AM HAVING A BOY!!! My car had an MOT check with Formula 1 yesterday. My car failed on the test as it needed welding. They told me that they can sort out the welding for me so I left my car at the garage and they have done an excellent job. I can only recommend Formula 1 to everyone. More than happy.

Thoroughly recommend. I went in for 2 x front tyres which I had ordered online. After checking the tread depths hey told me that I didn't actually need to change them yet. However, they also found two screws in the rear tyres which they removed but found them to be too small to have caused any damage. As there was no work needed, there was no charge and they said it wouldn't be an issue to return the unused tyres. A lessor garage would have tried to charge me for something ! I offered them a drink for their troubles, but they kindly declined my offer. One of the guys then cheekily asked if I could get them some milk as they had run out. I smiled and said not a problem, so got them a 4 pinter and some chocolate digestives. I was happy to look after them as they had looked after me - Thanks guys, I appreciate your honesty and integrity.

my husband booked in for a mot on sunday 11th oct at 14.30 paid on line. got there 10 minutes early. left the car. all sounds very good so far.... when we returned car still on ramp so we waited and waited and yawn waited bit more.... no one on reception angry customers gathering in reception. one member of the public phoned to see if they would come to the desk no response. my husband decided to talk to the machanic to ask how much longer he was going to be. the manager then decided to make an appearance saying to my husband not to badger the mechanic but he was only asking a simple question. Then the man in charge said the car had failed the mot needed a tyre which we hadn't been informed about. no communication at all!!!!!! we went ahead needed the car for work. the main man was very rude to my husband in reception in front of other customers. so the moral of this story is stay clear of formula one . what a waste of a sunday afternoon .... I spoke with the area manager after this review, due to negative remarks made, he advised the situation will be dealt with & that I would have a refund on the new tire that I had fitted. The cheque arrived in good time and felt that the complaint had been dealt with accordingly. therefore I have changed the rating to OK.

Went to the St Phillips branch for my MOT (first one I've ever had done). Was convinced I was going to end up paying a fortune and get royally ripped off wherever I went but my experience at Formula 1 with Nathan was great. I knew the car would fail, but it was only on one thing in the end which was cheap to fix. Nathan was very friendly and explained everything clearly. Service was fast and efficient. Would highly recommend. Don't be put off by myths around cheap MOT fees (they charge £27.50), it doesn't always equal hidden costs!

F One have been having bad press lately, perhaps those problems have been addressed. Called in 2months ago on the off chance a MOT slot was available. The older member of staff was curt verging on rude, making me feel unwelcome. Other customers present were equally unhappy regarding their treatment. Today it was a pleasure to be on their premises. We had a puncture this morning and limped to Days Road (it was the closest) expecting a frosty reception. From the moment we drove onto the forecourt it was a pleasure. Mechanics glancing up from their work smiled. Dan at reception couldn't have been more helpful. Although a busy Sunday promised to see to it after current job. Came back as job was finished and Dan about to call us. Apologised for length of time to fit us in. Asked him for a quote for 2tyres, given and at a competitive rate. Couldn't have been more friendly and efficient. We will return.

Car was recovered to Formula One as Nathan said he’d be able to get the parts and get us going again the next day. I can not rate these guys highly enough. The service really is top notch. After having a persistant issue with my brakes, I'd lost patience with my local independant garage. They kept telling me it was that my car was faulty. At F1, within 10 minutes of being on the ramp, the mechanic asked me to come through to have a look at the car. He showed me the issue. The other garage hadnt fitted the correct brake pads and were flapping around in the callipers. I like it when a garage shows you the problem and then offers a range of solutions. I've been back for all sort from tyres (pretty much the cheapest I've seen anywhere and do me fine. I'm a driving instructor so go through them quicker than most) to engine diagnostics. They've taken time out for me when they are over run, performed some tasks for free as a valued customer which is a lovely touch and what other garage can claim to be open 7 days a week from early till late? And all at amazingly low prices.
