Outstanding customer service from Anna - thank you
A full service was combined with fixing a broken fuel flap and also, more urgently, a broken handbrake switch which had the car locked stationary.
Unfortunately the switch took about 4 weeks to arrive from Germany, presumably this is a supply chain issue that Heritage have little control over. Anna kept us regularly updated, arranged a courtesy car (Up GTI, great fun!), discounted the labour charge and gave our car a full valet.

Sam was first class a very professional job at all times. He demonstrated excellent product knowledge and this was a big advantage in our negotiation. He guided us through the purchase process very well, spending time as needed and nothing was too much trouble.
I ordered a car from Heritage Automotive and dealt with Tony Joannou(sales) who kept me ‘in the loop’ from its build through to car delivery, with emails and calls to me that were informative and timely.
The handover was well organised, Tony went through the setup and made sure I was aware of all the on-screen options.
Very happy with a very professional service I received from VW staff.
A must to mention was how warmly I am welcomed by Pat on reception who always got me to the right person and coffee!

Arrived to be told the appointment details were wrong, despite it being on the sheet and having confirmed earlier that day. Initial response was nothing can be done - have to wait. Expressed dissatisfaction at this. In fairness to them, they did then correct this and keep to the time by moving other jobs around.
I've been coming to Heritage for a while now, despite VW Bath, who are a joke btw, slating these peeps. But i can honestly say that despite my initial concerns Heritage and all the staff have delivered a professional and trouble free service, free of criticism from myself !
Please guys and girls, keep up the good work, don't let standards drop.

Had an amazing experience buying a new car with heritage Bristol! When messed around by a local dealership, I went to them and they gave me a car with every specification I wanted and then some! Am extremely happy with the car and customer service provided and wish I’d gone there originally. Shout out to my sales advisor Mitchell for making the process quick and smooth despite current restrictions and for sorting out some added extras free of charge just to make me happy! I was a first-time customer with VW and would recommend to anyone!

I was a bit concerned seeing so many negative reviews, but I have been using this salon for over a year now, with no issues. Each time I try to make an appointment the phone gets picked up immediately, the appointment is scheduled within the next two weeks (I always take a replacement car so understand that there might be a wait), on the day I get updated and a call once the car is ready.
Once I had to leave the car overnight so just kept the replacement overnight. Once the replacement car had very little petrol in, which wasn't great, but the staff was very apologetic when notified and it didn't happen again.
I will continue using the Heritage of Bristol site and have only good things to say about them.
Popped in on an off chance. Excellent service all round, Chris was a true gent. He was booked up all day and still made time for me. He even give me his keys to take his car out for the day. As far as I am concerned, he went above and beyond his call of duties. I am a jaguar customer and vw heritage Bristol could teach jaguar a few lessons in customer service. A brilliant customer experience, my first ever test drive of a VW car, let alone electric!
Recently purchased a used car from the Bristol branch and after having visited at least 3 other garages, I was made to feel very welcome here. I met Tony Joannou in an evening and we briefly went through my requirements which turned up a couple of results that were a bit out of our budget so I went on my way. It wasn't long before Tony had followed up with a call about another car he had found from another garage and 48 hours later after many emails, our deposit was paid.
Tony was attentive and nothing was too much trouble, I only had to ask. I have passed his name onto all my colleagues and intend to be back in 3 years. I've had some work done our our previous car once and they were fantastic by offering hot drinks while I was waiting and then organising a taxi to take me to the office without prompt which went on their account.
I have every intention to get our current car work done here so I hope the service continues
On a very wet and windy day I turned up at Heritage with my dog in tow. Tony Joannu greeted us and asked how he could help. I was very unsure as to what I wanted with my only criteria being a roomy boot for my dog and that the car had to be automatic. Tony was great, he spent time going through my options of all the cars that met this criteria. This was the fourth dealership that I had visited that day and by far the best service that I received. Nothing was too much for Tony to accommodate, letting my put my dog in the boots of cars to ensure that there was enough room and fully explaining the pro's and con's of each car that was an option for me. After I chose a wonderful Golf, Tony made the paperwork bit very easy to go through and he made sure I was fully informed. He had listened to everything I had said and put together a special "doggy" package for me which I felt was above and beyond any other salesperson or dealership had presented me with. I love my new car and had a great experience buying it with Tony being very knowledgeable, competent and very understanding to what my specifications were and he didn't push me in a direction that suited his sales targets rather than what was best for me. I would happily deal with Tony and Heritage again when choosing my next car.
I found Heritage to be outstanding for the after car team. My golf estate had a problem with the gear box failing (the computer part), sorry I’m not technical to know the exact name. They dealt with this for me efficiently and helped me to get back in the road within a week. They were able to save me money off my bill by approaching VW for some goodwill.
I always find the team approachable and willing to help!
Mitchell helped my girlfriend and I find our new T-Roc. Great service from start to finish. We were driving it within a week and would recommend anyone speak with him if you're exploring VW as an option.
Great ambience in the waiting area with comfortable chairs and nice coffee selection. However they fail on customer focus. My cambelt request has never been fulfilled due to having no tool available to do the job. I had to go elsewhere to do it after waiting for 2 months. No phone calls returned.
Today my car was serviced there. On handover I asked and was assured the service book was stamped. It was not the case when I checked at home. Disappointing.
Recently bought a car from this dealership and was dealt with by Tom, he gave 10/10 service! He was happy to help, friendly and his communication was excellent. I left a very happy customer - managed to find the car I wanted for a great price, would recommend this garage!
On the 6th of January I went to view a selection of cars at heritage and was greeted by James Perry.
He ran me through all the options for my budget and all the different variables to consider. I was amazing by the amount of knowledge he had answering all my questions without hesitation.
Once we found a car right for me he got to work right away with arranging my old car as part exchange and sorting collection of my new car, all within the hour of being there.
I was so impressed with how well I was being looked after with offers of teas and coffees a comfortable and welcoming place to run through all the paperwork a truly flawless exchange dealing with James if I could leave a higher star review I really would.
I will most definitely be returning to James when I want a different car. 10/10 pound
Just wanted to update my review, as I've had an excellent experience using heritage for a service. I originally tried to get my car from heritage via PCP (see below) but didn't get anywhere after repeated calls. So I ended up using another firm. As part of my PCP deal I was forced to use heritage for the servicing as a main dealer, so I was a little hesitant.
I have to say Anton and Gary who I dealt with were both excellent, as were the servicing team generally, especially given the current lockdown. I would give 5 stars for the service, so I have amended the original 1 star review up to 3 to reflect this. Was really surprised and the guys even washed the car, hoovered out the footwells and fixed a minor issue with the breaks squeaking.

Called 3 times wanting to test drive a new polo GTI. Each time I had to give my telephone number again and was promised a call back. When you can't get basic things like that right it's doesn't fill you with confidence! They need to start writing things down and communicating.
I went into Heritage Bristol yesterday to look at a Golf R, I was greeted by a chap called Tony Joannou who sat me down and went through all of my requirements, took me on a test drive and subsequently found the perfect car for me. Here I am 1 day later picking up my dream car and I couldn’t be happier! I was made to feel to part of the family and I’ll definitely be back again in the future for another. Thanks again to Tony and the team, I’m thoroughly impressed with the service I have received so far and can’t wait to do it all over again in a few years time... 👍🏽
Got my new car from them. The process was smooth and easy. Tony Joannou dealt with me and he was brilliant. Tony had already done all the paperwork prior to our meet up for handover, so the admin took under 5 mins. He then took the time to show all the useful features of the car for me as well.
Always seems to be understaffed and impossible to find anywhere to park.
I received high level service, same as always, from VW heritage in my last visit. The branch is highly recommended. Had my car serviced yesterday and would like to thank Gary Angels from the service department who made my experience worry free from start to end, he was knowledgeable, informative and above all “listened” to what I wanted.
Main dealers can easily get a bad reputation but this chap is a credit to Heritage Volkswagen.
Purchased a car on Sunday, original pictures showed no damage as confirmed by the salesman. Paid a holding deposit and few weeks later went to test drive and purchase the car. Car was undercover to unveil to us, whilst walking around the car noticed a dent which had happened between original photos and collection. Salesman agreed this was not as photos and they would repair the damage and delivery the car to our home address by the following Sunday which happened. Over all happy with the service.
I recently purchased a polo from be heritage in Bristol. The salesman Scott was very helpful and kept me informed via phone and email throughout the process. I was made to feel like an individual and appreciated and not just another sale. On the day of collection I was greeted by Scott and the customer service manager who both thanks me for my business and unveiled my car. Would highly recommend.

I've been using Heritage Bristol for about two years to service a second-hand 'approved' VW bought from another dealer. There are lots of negative reviews here but I've always had pretty good service there. They've fixed a few things under warranty which I was expecting to have to argue about, including failed AC pump for which the replacement which didn't arrive until after the warranty expired - and they did the work with no arguement.
They get pretty busy at times so sometimes things take longer than expected and calls to teh service desk can go unanswered, but from my experience that's pretty common with big garages. Once they had the car a day longer than expected, and they gave us a VW-branded teddy bear (for my daughter, not for me..).
Today I phoned up to book my car in for a service, and they told me I'd got the interval wrong and it wasn't due for another couple of months, which I appreciated. Some places would have booked it in anyway and not told me.
So yeah, personally I can't see a reason for all the negative reviews. Here's a positive one for a change!
I've just bought a Polo SE and I love it.
The service at the centre was fantastic and management and staff were knowledgeable, polite and efficient. They kept me fully informed of what was happening and my car was delivered and ready to go on the day I was told.
I can't praise them enough and will definitely be recommending them and returning for an upgrade in the future.
I experienced great service and attention to detail from the whole team at Heritage of Bristol, from the initial contact to driving my new Golf away from the showroom. My sales executive, Scott Wilson, could not have been more helpful or flexible. Gareth (I'm sorry I cannot remember your surname) from the business team and Jason Moore from after sales were both on hand to answer any questions.
The final finishing touch was arriving home after taking delivery of my car, to find an email waiting for me with a video of me driving out of the showroom in my new Golf. The experience was outstanding in every respect; my thanks to Tony Sutton and the entire team at Heritage – well done!
After unfortunately facing a series of problems with my golf that were attempted to be resolved. Ed went above and beyond when being made aware of the problems I had faced, some of which that had occurred before his time at the branch had even started. Found suitable and affordable alternatives for the car I currently had in exchange for a newer model. No false promises or guarentees. Man of his word and delivered everything on time. Respect and faith restored after this most recent experience.
Had a good experience a while back buying a car on PCP. Very nice salesman Chris John, gave a very good buying experience. Would come back again.
Few months ago, I had my Polo for a warranty check as was very pleased with the customer services and competence of the team. I was served by Darren, who treated me friendly and professionally. A VW technician discovered a broken suspension part on the car, and that was swiftly replaced under the warranty. The car was clean on the return; I had few coffees and two taxies to the office. All paid by VW – very impressed. That was the best car service experience I had in the UK!
It was okay. Staff were nice enough but could have been more knowledgeable. No great deals offered so didn't buy.
Josh was very helpful in discussing and letting me have a test drive in an automatic Golf. He would have pulled out all the stops to get me one within 24 hours and would have earned his commission had we decided to buy one from Heritage. It was certainly no reflection on him that we didn't go ahead.
Excellent service! I am a driving instructor and needed help urgently as I had a driving test coming up, Jason the service Manager told me drop in and they would do their best to help me, Darren in the service department went the extra mile to help me and was so friendly and helpful, thanks also Jace the Mechanic for spending time on my car when I know the workshop was fully booked and also came to see me to explain his findings. The rear view mirror assembly on my new Golf R had detached it's self from its mounting and was hanging on several wires. Detaching the wires from the loom was impossible as a special tool was required. This made driving almost impossible so I made a call to Heritage who fixed it the same hour. The young man in reception who dealt with me was polite and helpful.
Many thanks indeed to Heritage for their understanding of a difficult situation and for their professionalism as the car was not supplied by them.

Great customer service. We were really looked after, everything was explained clearly & it was just so straight forward.
When we collected our new polo the Sales man Tom made it really special, covered the car in fabric and let us uncover it. He filmed is as we first saw our car & emailed us the video so we could see our faces.
Tom then contacted us a few times over the next few weeks to check everything was ok with the car & we were happy with it.
We have had no problems at all with the car, it is absolutely great very happy. We will stick with VW & heritage for future cars :D

I have walked away from your showroom before because the salesman was too pushy and I ended up buying a car in VW Bath instead the very same day. So, I particularly appreciated Joshua's very genuine approach making sure I was getting the right car for me without falling into a heavy sales pitch. He truly listened to what I wanted and didn’t try to sell me or promote added extras I didn’t want - that’s the way to get return business. Ironically I ended up with added extras I didn’t want or need but the availability of the car worked better for me and I appreciate the discounts Joshua and his manager offered. We collected our new VW Polo last weekend after a fabulous experience with this dealership over the previous 3 weeks. Dean and Sean are a pleasure to deal with, everything was explained, they were very patient as we'd never purchased a new car before! The other members of staff were most welcoming and helpful both on the phone and in person. visited to get my car serviced Sept 17. seen by Mason who was pleasant and courteous and the car was serviced by David, it was on a service plan so they checked the car over as well, they managed to get my car serviced in the morning and all seems good. mason had the same car as me and he knew about the cars, booked in with a few days notice and they didn't wash the car as instructed by myself. had a free cola from the cupboard - will use again.
Reading all theses bad reviews on here did make me think twice about choosing to visit this Volkswagen dealer but after having little joy finding anything at the next nearest I gave them a chance.
I am so glad I did as the service I received from the sales guy Lloyd was brilliant they didn't have a up that meet my requirements at the bristol dealer but quickly managed to find one elsewhere at first I was worried about leaving a deposit to get down but I took the plunge and the car came it was perfect !! Came in to find out details on the new up gti, I have to say that I spoke to a few people and the service was outstanding. Having recently purchased the above from you, I would like to say how impressed I was, by Tom Foxwell and the very high standard of customer service given by him at the dealership. Even though I changed my mind about the initial car I was interested in, Tom and his colleague, were quick to find me a more suitable alternative, which I am now very pleased with.

Previously visited VW last week to view their used cars, I spoke to Jensan and Molly who were both lovely. They helped me find the right car and were very knowledgeable on any questions I asked. Unfortunately when I had to put a deposit down to move the car from another site the sales guy had changed. Josh was rude and abrupt which didn’t make me want to buy from VW.
Overall, some of the team are really nice and helpful which is benificial towards the company. However, Josh was very unhelpful and rude which put me off buying a car

I have now bought 3 cars for myself and my family and it's the great service that I receive, in particular from Tony Joannou, and obviously the quality of all VW cars that keep me going back.
Mitch helped me choose the best car for me, he was very helpful throughout the whole process and did Heritage Bristol well. He made the process of buying a new car a really great experience and I hope he's still around in 3 years when I'm due another new car.
I was looking at getting a new or newish car for a while. From the beginning of enquiring for a test drive thru to driving away with a car Tony (Joannou) from Heritage and his colleagues were excellent. Fast, efficient, supportive and polite. Even with a few minor hiccups from my side Tony was still able to sort quickly and helpfully.
I have now purchased new cars every 2 or 3 years from Heritage for the last 15 years (Golfs and Polos). The standard of the VW cars have consistently got better and better for, relatively, the same amount of money. On top of this the sales and after sales staff at Heritage Bristol are all very friendly and professional without being "pushy". Buying a new car can be very stressful but Scott takes the stress away. He listens to my requirements and then advises me of my options whilst recommending the best one for me. He ALWAYS delivers the car that I want at the price that I want. The joy of collecting a brand new car is made even more special by Scott and the team at Heritage (I won't spoil it by telling you, you have to try it and see). Scott is not "a car salesman" he is a sales professional who understands that he has to do a good deal for his Company AND for his client.
The after sales service (for servicing etc) is also a good stress free experience at Heritage.
I would not go anywhere else for my cars.
I recently and unfortunately had a bad experience with a used Golf that I purchased from Heritage VW. Over the space of 12 days I had four faults and decided to withdraw from the agreement. When i called them I was expecting a fight but I must say I have been humbled by the decency they showed me. I know there have been some poor reviews about this place but I can honestly say that the way they reviewed my experience, acted upon my concerns and provided me a detailed explanation of how they would rectify things (full refund) was amazing. I know this sounds like they wrote it but they really didn't. Heritage are professional, empathetic and highly impressive. I dealt with Curtis. Also, the initial sale was similarly impressive - pressure free and very helpful - that was Neil McDougall
I took my Golf in for a new cambelt and water pump and was served by Anton.
Despite being new to this particular branch his knowledge and assistance were fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate in using Heritage Bristol again.

I was looking for a new car and I went to see all the major garages in the Bristol area (really wanted to get a good deal) and I've received the best customer service at Heritage Bristol compared to the rest.
I was apprehensive coming here, but I am glad I did. Special thanks goes to Neil McDougall who is clearly passionate about VW and treating me like an actual person.
