I usually go to the Stephen James dealership in Ruxley and have always been pleased with the service there, but the Woolwich branch was outstanding. Little extras like the receptionist standing up and greeting me at the door by name (I assume having checked my number plate as I was parking) make such a great first impression. Truly impressed.

My favourite BMW Service. From start to finish. Greeted by nice young lady at the Reception and all around staff very polite and helpful. On my two previous last visits Mr Niran took care of my car. Very friendly, professional, if there were any slight delays would contact me straight away to keep me up to date and offering a variety of options to choose from so it is convenient for me. Same I can say about mechanics doing work on a car - professional, sending videos with no delays explaing and showing what kind of work and why has to be done. Overall great experience. Highly recommended. Keep at it!

About 18 months ago my workplace moved and I started to use Stephen James in Woolwich. My experience there has been really first class. They are both courteous and helpful. Paul Dawes, the service manager, is particularly good. I had a problem with my 5 series that another branch couldn't resolve. They diagnosed it straightaway and fixed it within 24 hours. I now take my car there for servicing and warranty issues, and despite the pandemic their service has remained consistent. When I look to change my car later this year I will go back to them for this too. I couldn't recommend them more.

Excellent experience at Stephen James Woolwich for buying an approved used X3. The sales executive i dealt with was Lee Madden who setup a test drive and showed excellent knowledge of all the car features and specs. The negotiation process was stress free as Lee was able to offer me many options across all Stephen James dealerships. Lee was able to go above and beyond by bringing cars from Bromley and Enfield for me to look at. Had to make multiple visits due to various manufacturing faults on my new 3 series. Was excellent service throughout - especially from Paul the Service Team Manager. Was updated frequently on the progress of the diagnostics and repairs, even got a video of the diagnostics from the technician (very cool!).

Great experience. Just want you need in these crazy times. Went in for a tyre repair. All the necessary safety precautions in place (social distancing, masks, sanitizers, clear two-way marking). Jack was fantastic right from the time we got there. Very clear and concise in what was going to happen. Dropped the car in the morning, received a call later in the afternoon on the status, followed by a call again the next day confirming approval for the tyre replacement and collection in the evening, 24 hours turn-around...what a seamless experience!

When I called to book my BMW in for an MOT I got through to Merete at the desk. I was taken back by how genuinely lovely she was. I don't have the vocabulary to describe it but I felt compelled to leave this review because of her. I asked if I could drop the car off early as I had an ear operation and she became more concerned about me than the car and just said 'of course' in regards to the car. The next day when I went to drop the car Merete happened to be the person at the desk. I knew this because of her American accent. I was not expecting her to remember who I was as she probably deals with so many customers. She greeted me, asked if she could help me. I said I was dropping my car off for an MOT. She asked when it was booked for I said tomorrow but I was dropping it early and she remembered me and the conversation about the ear operation continued. It made me feel like she cared and that meant a lot. I've not always had good experiences with Stephen James Enfield and I've wrote about this. So it's only fair I write about how awesome Merete was and is. We need more Meretes in this world. I would also like to mention Jack Groves in servicing who looked after me. He was also very nice to me and I know that sounds cheesy and not like a big deal but it makes the biggest difference in customer experience when people are just nice to you. Dave who had helped us with my wife's mini also needs a mention. He's always awesome to us and Megan Saunders was ever so lovely and helpful too. Generally though all of the staff at Woolwich are lovely and I've always had a pleasant experience whenever I've had to visit. So well done Woolwich!

Upon arrival you have your temperature checked and asked to sanitise your hands, social distancing measures are clearly in place. Everyone I met was very friendly & more importantly helpful, making an effort in particular with my children.
The gentleman I first met was keen to have my car serviced & collected according to my timeframe. I don’t know everyone’s name however David & his manager in particular were great.. Customer experience & service from beginning to end is top quality, they went above & beyond.

Stephen James Woolwich Service deserves golden five stars. They saved the day for me. I recently bought a used BMW X1 from a well known dealer who I had high regard for (not anymore) On my home drive, I realised that the navigation or the display dint work. The entire CID (Computer) was given to me completely dead. How should I feel ?
So here comes the rescue. When I took the vehicle to Stephen James, they investigated and found out that the entire CID head unit had failed. A new one cost £2000. To add to this the key head unit also failed.
But luckily when Stephen James called BMW, BMW extended their 'Good will warranty' to replace the unit free of charge. I only had to pay for the service. Much grateful to the entire team at Stephen James Woolwich for saving the day for me and helping me to start my BMW journey on a beautiful note.

Turn up in Stephen James Woolwich, apart from rainy day everything was great. Needed to undo my wheel lock bolts ( all 4 of them), because I didn't have my original socket and replace it with the new set of 4 wheel lock bolts, which had the socket with a pack( I brought new set with me, ordered online previously from online bmw shop) so I could replace my missing socket. I didn't have a appointment with them and someone from parts people sad they quite busy, but when explained my situation, they took my keys and car was done in about 20min and main thing it was FREE OF CHARGE. They said just have a lovely weekend:) lovely place, people, highly recommend to see Stephen James Woolwich!

I took my 2002 BMW e46 for a recall on air bags and from the moment I have walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcomed me with open hands offering me a hot drinks.
Lovely lady called Claire Hunt who looked after me and my car, went through the paper work with me and shortly after that I got provided with an exciting hire 2 series for the time while mine was being sorted.
The next day when I came to pick my car up I was so surprised how well they have treated me.
Answered all my questions regarding my car , have done a mechanical video check and even washed and waxed my car as there was not a single water mark.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK THERE !!!

Had a drive train error message come one so went to my local garage and they couldn't find anything. So didn't have a choice but to come to Stephen James Woolwich.
Booked it in
Brought the car to them they did say £198 for diagnosis and left the car with them
They got back to me later that day saying fuel pump is the issue and would cost £560 to fix it and they also did a free health check and told me what esle needs to be changed (which was very helpful).
Paul dawes was the person that called me back saying they will try and get BMW to cover the full cost and said wait till the next morning.
BMW got back saying they'd cover 50% of the cost of parts and labour.
So it was a no brainer at that moment to get it sorted by Stephen James. So few days later once the parts arrived car fixed and paid for I'm happy to be driving my ultimate machine again.

He made sure I knew how to use all the features before I left with my new M4 and even allowed me to take it for a weekend test drive. It was so nice to be surprised. Both, by the product on offer and the service provided. We did not plan to by a new Mini. But a disastrous experience in a Volkswagen showroom and welcoming we got from Stephen James in Woolwich made us change our mind. Having test driven a Countryman we stayed on for a few hours, discussed the deal with one of the salesman in minute detail. It was not a hard sale as the car was superb. But the way we were handled by Nick hugely contributed to making the final decision. He was both courteous and knowledgeable. No question was too simple or too difficult for him to answer. We felt looked after and very tactfully encouraged. Andreas explained the finance details and at the end of the day we were ready to become owners of the new car. Everything was triple checked by Nick to make sure there were no nasty surprises. Before we left, we were given the date for delivery and a firm hand shake. It felt really good. The car arrived earlier than expected. In the meantime we talked go Nick regarding a few outstanding issues. They were merely in our minds. Every phone call was returned. Every query dealt with. This was not a five star experience. More like ten. With the service like that and the fabulous product - the Countryman is a joy to drive - it feels like a beginning of a long term relationship. My experience was fantastic!
From start to finish I found Lee Madden and James Goodwin attentive to my specification. Lee had managed to work very quickly on a car which I had missed to another buyer, then with it coming back to the market - It took no longer than three days turnaround. I was able to have my consultation/view/test drive etc the new car. With exchange of cars on the third day and me driving away... no fuss. Execution and delivery was spot on.

Had my car serviced here a couple of times or MOT'd. The work has always been carried out to a good standard and I like the summary videos they send to the customer. The carwash service is also a nice touch, albeit the customer is clearly paying for this service and my less expensive garage back home provides the same service.
However, general service prices appear to be prohibitive for a car that's not brand new anymore, and hence one assumes that such kind of work is not really what Stephen James is after and the focus is more on selling cars.
The latest quote for an investigation of noise coming from engine compartment was £198 per hour for an initial investigation (excluding any work carried out). This seems extortionate to me, and confirms my impression that the service price level is rather high. The dealer could not provide a quote for a general service my car currently asks for. This is not my understanding of 'BMW value service' for older Beamers as advertised on the website.
Booking appointments for the last few jobs has been difficult. Last year I had no response to my message through the online booking form and had to go to the dealership to arrange the appointment.
This year, email messages to the service department have not been replied to and I as the customer had to chase. Not what I would expect from a dealer intending to deliver a '5 star service'. Once I emailed a specific person however I got a quick reply, so the attitude towards customer service seems to be hit and miss.
I will therefore continue take my car back to my local garage back in Germany. It's a bit of a hassle, but at least things they get things done for a good price and booking appointments is no hassle. Plus, the coffee machines produce actual coffee, which they rarely do at Stephen James!

I have purchased a used approved car from this dealership. I must say that the experience was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. I dealt with Konrad from the sales department. Not only he was professional but he was totally opposite to your typical car sales man! I had a terrible experience at Mercedes before and Konrad ensured that I get the best deal and he actually listened to my requirements...

Really impressed with Stephen James. Their new location, while a little out the way for me compared to Blackheath, is easy enough to get to from Woolwich station / main roads and the brand new showroom looks great.
I took my car in for a service in the morning and got a video assessment sent to my email address a couple of hours later. Very clear explanations and colour coded assessment of the work that was needed.
I went away on holiday and it needed to stay at the showroom for a few extra days which wasn’t a problem at all.
When I came to collect the car I was 5 minutes late past closing but Derek who was the last person at the showroom and running a little late himself gave up another 15 minutes of his time to make sure I could get my car and it wasn’t a wasted trip.
Great service and friendly people. Cannot recommend enough.

The sales exec that we dealt with was Konrad. He ensured that we actually bought the right car rather than sell us anything that was on display! Then he made sure we get the best deal. Overall the whole experience was great, the best part though was the collection day. Konrad emailed my wife shortly after leaving the dealership asking her what her favourite song of all time was. At that point we didn't think anything of it... Then on collection day the car came down a lift with my wife's favourite song playing in the background! What a nice touch!

From start to finish I had a wonderful experience. Alex King made the whole journey an enjoyable one. I previously dealt with the BMW in Bromley and I won’t be going back there again. Alex and his manager actually listened and didn’t try and get a quick deal. They catered to mine and my family’s needs, as my 3 year old said upon leaving “I’m impressed”. I must say the service team is great, Derek (service manager) gives the best suggestion in terms of part changes. The only thing down one star is Stephen James service booking line is always busy and it's not easy to book a service. Not sure about sales part business.

Had a recent positive experience in using SJB in purchasing a new Mini Cooper Seven.
In particular, Oliver Edwards in Mini Sales was extremely helpful in all aspects of the purchase from; (1) negotiating discounts of the RRP to match the price of a competitor, (2) updating me on delivery times frequently and (3) sorting out issues at car delivery which included the incorrect wheels/tyres fitted and missing space saver wheel (Error with MINI rather than SJB).
